UNC student breaks up with his gf in front of 3000 people

Post by jon »

from digg:

UNC student Ryan Burke found out his girlfriend was cheating on him. He planned out the entire event on Facebook. Roughly 3000 students showed up to see Ryan break up with his girlfriend on Valentine's Day in The Pit.

STV's interview with Ryan:

From a facebook group:
By now you have all seen the UNC St. Valentines Day Massacre.

In case you missed it, a quick summary. Mindy Moorman allegedly cheated on now internet legend Ryan Burke. Ryan decided to get her back. He gathered 1000+ people in 'the pit' at UNC and got her to show up under the guise of a romantic serenading. Instead he dropped her like she's hot...in front of a cheering crowd.

You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=colIeH2snmI

Internet pop culture site You're With Me, Internet (http://www.yourewithmeinternet.com) has declared Ryan Burke an internet sensation and has his back 100%.

As such, YWMI has started the "Poke Mindy Moorman" movement.

We want as many people as possible to poke Mindy on facebook.

Please follow this link and poke Mindy once a day. This is what she gets for messing with our boy Ryan!

This is not too far from my house, about 45 minutes.
She deserved that I think. Anyone who cheats isn't worth shit. I don't care if she "had needs". Either tell him or end it. Don't be an ass and go behind his back.

Great singing too.

I think she came out of the whole thing a bit better then he did. I mean He brought all those people out there and barely said anything.

Quite funny though.

Funny, but kind of immature. I don't know. I don't feel very abusive these days.

/boring post.

I'd like to retract my previous comment on the singing and say that it was incredible.

lame

I think that "our boy" is being a bit of a bitch about the whole thing. It seems like kind of an insecure thing to make such a fuss about it. If he wants to break up, break up... Making it into a public event makes it seem like he needs the support from others since he can't handle it himself. There are bigger problems that could use adressing than his love-life... seems kinda selfish and a bit of a waste of everyone's time. They could have been off enjoying their valentine's day with people who weren't cheating on them.

But I dunno. I think that paragraph sounds worse than I intended it to be. Cheating is still quite wrong, and if he was mad enough about it to do that, I guess it's better than just crying about it... although, somehow that is arguably More Manly.

cool find though, Jon. Good thread

I thought the idea was really funny, but it was implemented poorly.

He just "You cheated on my blah blah blah!"

And then she just yelled at him for a while.

Lame!

He should've been like "Haha! You whore! I'm breaking up with you and everyone knows what a slut you are now! Haha!"

Meh, now that I type it out, it seems a bit mean, but whatever.
