Super sweet session at the Bahen on thursday with Josh, Tom and a newcomer.....John Bagi! Everyone was playing really well, and near the end we had a sweet game of 4-skware where Josh handed us our asses on a platter. Always good to shred with Tom, and Bagi is an awsome guy with tons of potential.

I think I might sit out this Sunday, but I'd like to film, so Josh better show up! It would also be really cool to get Tom on video if he's not going home before then. I didn't get nearly enough of him from KICKASS

Tom, Adam, John, that was one of the most fun sessions I've had in a while. Thanks. The 4-square, mock circle comps, etc. are really things we can encourage in our weekly meetings.

Speaking of weekly meetings:
I'm kinda wondering when we all want to meet tomorrow.

I tried to get this Sunday off, but I still have to work until 4, meaning Bahen center at 5... hopefully.

Do people mind waiting til 4-4:30-5 or so and I can come in asap?

If the usual earlier shred is overwhelmingly more convenient to most, I won't take it personally...

Hope to hear from you soon, I REALLY want to make a filming sesh.

Erik: I have a camera and tripod, the only reason I don't tape is that I don't have software to download & edit it... if we want an extra camera or something let me know if there's anything I can do.

So, I want discussion to continue about the FAT website. Perhaps at our next session we should devote some time to brainstorming a bit.

So far:
-We've pretty much settled on a domain name: torontofootbag.com.
-We should have a message board on the site, mainly to post events and shred times.
-We should have control over who can join the site and start posting (basically limit it to actual players who make it out to sessions [at least once in a while]).
-FAT members should be able to log in and create/manage their player profiles and upload pics/videos.
-There should be a link to modified/FATblog.
-Maps/directions to shred spots
-A FAT merchandise store.

Any more ideas? If anyone has any possible content, let us know. We could potentially use photos, writting/articles, video... anything else?

Camille, if your father can hook us up with free space and a domain name, why don't you set that up soon? If not, I'll go ahead and purchase it. Even if all we have to put up is "site under construction" it's still a good start. Do you know how to set up the message board/login/player profile stuff? If not I have a buddy who knows how to do all that, and is willing to help out. I don't want to take this project away from you if you're keen on doing it, but lets talk and figure stuff out soon!

Here's a quick rough I was playing with today. Sort of a hand-drawn urban look. We don't have to go in this direction, but I think it's cool and different.

I was gonna ask before but decided against it ...

is that design gonna be images sliced up and put into a table? I really like the look but to make a standards complient site it should probably be done using plain text and a css. A content management system like drupal although not as pretty is probably best.

Ok, now that I looked up what a standards compliant site is...

I don't know Jon. I whipped up a version of the page using tables. (I don't know any code, just Dreamweaver). I very much doubt it creates standards compliant web pages. But is it really necessary? Will people be browsing the FAT site on their cellphones and blackberrys?

Maybe there is a way to create 2 versions of the site? One for home computers, and one for hand-helds?
