- With the exception of my mom, my family is quiet like me.
- I have a wide taste in music. Right now, my favorite artist to listen to is Kate Bush.
- I'm very critical of religion.
- I once had a job at Chick-fil-a. Every other week, everyone was required to attend employee meetings at a church. My boss once tried to explain to me that the kind of music I listened to (I wore an Iron Maiden shirt one day) was helping to deteriorate American moral society. I laughed at him and quit a few days later.
- I've had the same group of friends since elementary school. I can't really imagine life without them.
- The Office is hilarious.
- I have a hard time keeping interested in college. I'm on my 3rd major.
- I think footbag is boring most of them time. Since I can't really play anymore, there isn't much I like about it. I'd rather actually kick than talk or watch. I get mad when I think about how good I could have been if my endless series of injuries never started.
- I was involved in every sport in the area as a child. I've never liked competing so I didn't like any of them unless playing casually. I liked footbag because I only had to contend against my own limits. I got annoyed when people tried to make me compete.
- My father is someone I strive to be like. I've never known anyone that works as hard as he does. He never complains.
- WVU is a good school. I think I would have really enjoyed it 4 years ago fresh out of high school. I don't feel like getting involved anymore though.
- I started drinking a little before Worlds 04. I had a really good time at the bars there. I now like beer a lot. I don't drink it often though, a $ situation.
- I enjoy exercise, but I have to stay in the habit or I get lazy.
- I can't grow a beard yet. I would really like one too.

Cool thread. Like a condensed series of footblogs.

thanks for posting this topic, Kevin. The footbag community is pretty spread out, but we're all still pretty tight since there aren't that many of us. Anyway, here's where I come from and what I'm all about.

-I was raised by a single mother who worked late most nights, so I spent most of my adolesence by myself at home or in the woods.

-My mother was pretty poor, but we still managed to live a pretty comfortable lifestyle.

-I picked up footbag in high school because I never did well in team sports.

-I've been smoking pot pretty consistently since I was 13.

-During the summers I live out of my backpack, leading youth conservation corps crews from Idaho to Vermont.

-I can't touch my toes and I can't hit flip whirl.

-My dad works for the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.

-I've been conducting an experiment concerning insect herbivory on exotic plant invasions in Montana. I'm getting authorship on a scientific paper being published in a scientific journal as an undergraduate.

-I listen to Wu-Tang Clan entirely too much.

-I love studying forestry, but there are a lot of assholes that chose the same major.

I can usually carry a trunk-full of groceries to the house with one trip or two...as long as most are in bags. :D

LOL. I love it. If you think people post personal stuff on here you should read my blog. I think striving to be as open and honest as possible with one's self and with others is a very admirable quality. In a lot of ways it takes more strength and fearlessness to be open and honest then to keep things in (esp with guys). Everyone is so afraid of being judged or being thought of as weak. People that either don't give a damn, have a lot of self confidence, or are just tired of being closed up and are able to let go and be completely honest and open are all great people in my opinion and usually the most interesting people too.

Then again I think sharing stuff online is awesome and that why I am studying this stuff at school. I might even do my thesis on sharing personal information in an online setting versus a real world setting. Online communities / blogs / emails / the internet are awesome and I can't think of anything more interesting to study. (then again maybe I am just emo  )

also people probably arent being quite as open as you think. different things are more traumatic to different people, so some people would be willing to admit they were sexually abused, for example, before some other stuff that may be more or less shocking, especially to that person. but i am suprised as well with the degree of apparent honesty.

-i've had well over 100 stitches in my life, but i've never broken a bone
-there are members of my immediate family i can honestly say that i hate
-i took ballet for awhile when i was like 10, but i got kicked out because i didnt go to enough classes. im now glad i got kicked out when i did.

Nathan is my middle name, I like footbag while others think its pretty lame.

When my hair grows I cut the front but not the back, unless I get mullitude- then I get the 2nd mirror off the rack.

Some call it rap but I frequently freestyle babble, 452 is my highest score in my favorite board game called Scrabble.

Feet scraping on a sandy sidewalk is my kryptonite, I’m gearin’ up to get my butt whooped at a pool hall tonight.

I used to sleep engulfed in Rainbow Bright covers, many people have few partners but I’ve had even fewer lovers.

If I had my druthers I’d be on permanent vacation, nobody knows what I do during the day, not even school administration.

My thermostat is set to 75, I enjoy grooovin’ to BeeGees 70s his Stayin’ Alive.

Buck 65 is a hip hop “groupâ€

I feel kinda bad about lurking & not contributing, so here's a few things about me:

- I think some of my coworkers hate and/or resent me, and that I probably would too if I were in their shoes. But I'm not, so: suck it haters!
- I hate my job but I'm not motivated enough to find a new one.
- I used to listen to mostly Hip-Hop, but in the last few months I've been "discovering" all these Indy Rock bands that have been around for years. I'm like "hey, these Death Cab for Cutie guys are great! And this Tiger Woods fellow is one heck of a golfer!"
- I try not to take most things in life seriously.
- Two things really get me frustrated, though: four square & my job.
- The fact that these things get me frustrated also frustrates me.
- I don't drink anymore, but I used to. A lot. Every day.
- All of my "relationships" have started like this: I was wasted, and she threw herself at me.
- Its been over a year since I've had a drink.
- You can figure out what these last two add up to.
- I feel the need to put quotes around relationships because, looking back on them, its hard to really take them seriously as real relationships.
- I've been a vegetarian since September 10, 2001. And the whole world went fucking nuts the next day. So kids, don't be vegetarians.
- I don't like starting sentences with "I" & I'm fighting my urge to re-write all of this.
- I think that who I am as a person and who people think I am are probably very different.
- I don't think my outward appearance usually reflects how I'm feeling/what I'm thinking, etc.
- This gets me in trouble sometimes.
- I've been arrested more than once.
- I probably should've been arrested a lot more than that.
- I was a political science major in college.
- I had planned on going to grad school with the eventual goal of being a PoliSci professor.
- Now, not so much.
- I don't like to talk about politics with most people. Actually, I think most people are just fucking ignorant about politics & it would be mostly pointless for me to talk politics with them.
- I know how arrogant that sounds. It doesn't please me to sound arrogant, but I think honesty is important.
- I don't like explaining things. Mostly because of my job, where I'm constantly explaining the same things over and over again to the same idiots.
- I really hate being put in positions where I have to be cruel to another person. I think this is the source of most of the conflict in my life.
- I'd talk more about my insecurities, I just don't think I'm that good at it.
- I will kick you apart.
