Thanks for putting out some footage of Risden.

The video definitely wasn't representative of what he is capable of though. I'm assuming he's really out of practice because he can shred with the best of 'em!

The music and effects were a bit much for me as well. Still though, thanks for filming and putting the effort into the vid.

The title of this video being James Risden Awakened gives me the impression that James has not played in a long time. His shred was pretty good and he hit a lot of nice moves and combos.

To summarize (what I sent in my private message to you), the shred is good, the video footbag is good, the quality of that footage is good, but the animations, backgrounds, large solid icon, and head-pounding music could be done without.

I will certainly watch more videos from you, so please make more.

So i show up at james apartment... he claims he has not kicked in like three years... i hang and film for like 35 minutes and this is the take...... if you dont like the editing, fuck off and make a better video and show it to me... im sick of looking at peoples garages, laundry rooms and basements of their parents as back drops!........

I didn't like the editing at all, but I sure enjoy that you shared the James footage and the time and effort you put to bring this up.

Yeah the editing comments are just people trying to help giving feedback. People usually request feedback when they put out vids. I actually think the editing was pretty impressive, though maybe not suited to a footbag vid exactly.

If mike anello has anything to say to you, it's from the point of view of a good editor, experienced footbagger, and all around TOP NOTCH guy. Mike is the shit, and he's only trying to give you a few pointers on your video, and he included positive points. It's not like he tore your shit apart, and it's not like he's one of those posters that doesn't make videos that just likes to criticize everyone.

you DEFINITELY don't need to be telling him to fuck off. that's just rude, and a huge overreaction. If you don't want to know what people think, don't post, especially if you're going to flip out when a good person gives you a few thoughts on your vid.

PS: don't go asking anello to make a better video than you and show it off. Because he will. He's made some HILARIOUS videos with limited backdrop, and bunches of cool shred videos with different backdrops. His choices are always tasteful and funny.

edit2: by the way, just watched the video, I hadn't watched before the rest of this post. I seriously enjoyed the whole thing, I liked the hardcore music and all the weird crap going on and the negative shots and the slomo and everything. I liked tripped out, weird footbag videos. It was great seeing shots of the rizzle again. next time you talk to him, tell him matt cross says he's still a legend.

none of this changes how I feel about your response to mike, but I just thought I'd give my feedback too.

I would love to have seen him in his prime. That was really good.

The editing was a tad annoying and kind of distracted from the shred. I also turned my volume down as soon as I heard the first three seconds of the song.

you obviously arent very good at footbag, or making friends. Seeing is you slo mod such easy runs and moves. Maybe James wasnt actually playing badly, but this clown doesnt know whats good and whats not, so he put in like 10 contact guiltless runs.

Great video, but that last comment was not necessary in the least.

And I'd like to add that Matt is right. Mike makes spectacular videos and even though I've only met him once, he was extremely nice and he's a good guy. As are 95% of the people on this forum.
If they didn't like the editting, yelling at them and inulsting them will not change it in any way but for the worse.

We're a pretty picky community here about what makes a good footbag video. I'm sure as you make more and learn more about footbag you'll get to understand what people like to see and what they don't.

I needed to hear that...... Risden is the only person i know within a few hours that has the talent to showcase... the end... I want to make a full-blown vid... have the computers and cameras.... any takers out there.... im in iowa city............

My editing talents far exceed what i showed in this vid......If you got game and want to form a group to make a vid, maybe we all can meet... like chicago or somewhere and do it!!!!!!!
