Ok, so I'm at the gym and I get done typing about 4 paragraphs into here, well I always copy my stuff before submitting in case of an error. My dumbass self pressed Ctrl+C, only I didn't hit Ctrl. Bam! All gone, heres an abridged version:

2 1/2 hours of shred today. I'm so exhausted because I did weighttraining and 20 minutes of cardio afterwards too. :x Good day though. I hit my first ever Double Dexterity in the form of Double ATW. I hit the first one on film but after reviewing it, it turned out that the second dexterity was The, so I went back at it and hit it twice more and they were both clean. I even managed to foot Flip Double ATW! Awesome. I also hit Whirl BSOS twice today as well, both on film. Each started on a different side too. One started with Flip Whirl and one started with Strong Whirl. Pretty proud of myself at the moment.

I used Holly and Brians bags most of the day, inside though, they're much too pretty for outside play as of now. They are superb bags. No real break-in time necessary. Weight is awesome as well. I've been hand-massaging the bag from Mark Telman a lot, should be perfect once I get it broken in, really excited.

I only did 20 minutes of drills though. I was getting very frustrated with them because I couldn't hit them with the cleanliness and such that I wanted to. So I just stopped early with those. I know that the best way to helpo that is to drill but I was fed up with it today. I think tomorrow will be better though.

Funny event of the day:
I was trying out an Atomic Set and cleared the dex the best that I've done so far and managed to knee myself in the upper lip, no real damage, but gave me a little laugh.

Thanks!

Not much to report from today. I'm not going to try any Strongside Double ATW's until I hit it Flipside 3 times. I'm fairly close to hitting it Flipside though, so shouldn't be too long. My main problem is just an inconsistent set.
I hit Whirl BSOS twice again today. And I also hit Strongside Toe Whirl for the first time today, and I managed it a couple more times as well. I want to start working on longer runs. For some reason, ever since I started working on the Flipside for my trick selection, I haven't had any nice long runs. I think I may just be afraid to try it out in case it's inconsistent and ends up being short, kind of like avoiding disappointment. But I think I'll start trying it out, hell... it'll only help me in the long run so why not? Plus, I need some good string footage for the video. I have a nice selection of individual tricks but no real good strings.
I've been doing a little bit of Ducking too, my Clipper to Clipper ducking is getting better, no BSOS though. And no drills today, I'm disappointed in myself.
I might try DLO's soon. Only reason I haven't done them already is because I didn't want that to be my first Double Dexterity for whatever reason. So I avoided them completely. Might add some nice Toe game to my strings, once I start gettings strings again that is.

Nice work on that DATW! Good idea to hit it flipside before trying it again. That's why I don't do them anymore. I plan on starting drilling double dexes, tried a bit today and footed few flip side so it's nice. Nice work on whirl too, still haven't hit flipside but not trying to either so.

Don't forget to drill a lot, those will help you more than anything else! The best way not to forget them is do a few every sessions, and one session in a while is more dedicated to drilling. But the most important is do some every session, and sometimes I just add some drills in my shred, it's a nice way to see how I ''own'' that drill.

For the dlo, knowing that you have great clipper, you should try near dlo first. What instantly make them good for me is when I understood how to do them. Just go for a SS mirage ( maybe set little higher depending how high you set them ) but while ''miraging'' ( I mean while the bag pass under your leg, before seeing in front of you, but not too soon ) jump with your other leg and just do a simple legover. I think it's easier to see it that when than seeing it like a ''double legover''.

And can you pixie? (sorry if i ain't sure anymore) It's a pretty easy set and probably the best set to learn first on toe. It will make other sets easier. Plus if you wan't more toe game in your shred it opens up a lot of possibility.

Hey thanks a lot bud. :D Yeah, Flip Whirl was a bitch to hit. Just keep going at it. I know what you mean with drills. I don't really forget to do them, I just get discouraged when I try them and I don't seem to get the hang of them, I end up only completing one repitition of it. Then I don't do them. I'll focus on them tomorrow though at the gym. Thanks for all the tips on Double Legover too. I hadn't broken it down like that before with the Near Mirage. And no, I can't Pixie. I'll hit a few from time to time when I get a bad set for ATW or another Toe move but they are never intentional. To be honest, I don't really like them. Mainly how they look but that's probably just me making excuses for not hitting it.

As for drills it is crucial that you use tricks and links that you enjoy, htat way it just feels like your shredding, only both sides.

Well, despite how completely exhausted I was today(I only stayed awake for one whole class period out of four today.), I still made myself go to the gym and drill, weight lift, cardio, all of that shit. It actually turned out to be my best drilling session yet, they weren't very long drills with lots of contacts but I managed to complete 1 or 2 full rotations of each drill. I even managed to hit the longest string that I've done since probably early early January, which still was only about 9 contacts but it was pretty cool anyways. Highlights for today:

 Whirl BSOS (For the 5th time since hitting Flip Whirl).
 Mirage>SS Mirage>Rpt. = 5 Contacts.
 Mirage>Legover>Rpt. = 6 Contacts.
 Legover>Legover>Pickup>Pickup>Rpt. = 8 Contacts.
 Butterfly>Far Legover>Pickup>Butterfly>Far Legover>Pickup>Osis>Osis>Whirl>Lost it here at Far Dyno.

There was some more but I cannot remember them. Oh, and I hit my Sick 3 again with a more visible bag and a MUCh cleaner catch. All of this I caught on film with exception to the Whirl BSOS(Which I already have on camera.). Awesome. Might take tomorrow off. My knees hurt.

Thanks bud! :D
I've tried it multiple times from a Clipper but only twice from Toe. I'm closer with the Clipper so I'll probably hit that both sides then try for Toe both sides. My knee hurts a good bit though so I'll be taking today and most of tomorrow off.

Meh. Today was alright. I'm pissed about a good number of things. The first being that I paid way too much compared to what I could have for the Firewire port and cable. I could have snagged it for $30 with shipping and tax off of Tiger Direct but waited because I had a $25 Best Buy gift card. Went today and ended up spending $51.84 AFTER using the gift card. Fuck. Now my chainmaille orderswon't be filled for at least another week. Goddamnit. And the second thing that's pissing me off is that the card and cable I spent that fortune on won't show up in the fucking My Computer. Yet it says it's been installed and is running just fine. Which means I can't download my damned footage! :? I am just the slightest bit frustrated. As far as shred goes, bad session, though I did hit some long runs for the camera. Long runs for my performance as of late that is. >_>

**EDIT: Forgot to add, I hit Guay for the first time today on both sides too.

Ok, I found out I can import via Movie Maker but it will take over 2 hours and probably a nice 2 Gigabytes of memory. And I want to use my new editting software too. I don't know... I'm just in a bad mood today. 8 |

Ok, so I was kind of in a bad mood yesterday. I figured out how to work the software and import the footage into my new video editting software. Assuming I can figure out how to work this right, the video should be out be the 28th, but might not be out until the 1st. We'll see how fast I can pick up on this. I just submitted my entry for the Online Sick 3.

So not much shred today. There was 1 highlight though. I came closer to hitting a drill I made up for myself than I ever have. It goes Infinity>Whirl>Infity>Whirl>Rpt. I managed to get to the Flip Whirl and footed it. Haven't fully completed it but it's a drill I enjoy, Who would've though!? I've been drilling other things as well and my patience for them is slowing growing so that's a plus. I can notice some improvements from it so that gives me a little enthusiasm as well.

So, I had an odd moment yesterday. So I'm sitting in the car with the parents and I mentioned how I haven't seen Aric McIntosh on the forum since the RFA Y.E.A.H Jam thread and how he's supposed to be moving to my area in March. Well, I'm perusing the forums later that day and guess who happens to be on? Aric McIntosh. Weird. 8O But he's moving down here on the 7th according to his post and that makes me so excited. I met him at the Y.E.A.H. Jam and he's a superb player with great style. I have an oppurtunity to learn from a great player. And just having somebody else to really shred with is such a privilige. I'm excited.

Let's cross our fingers that I can figure oout this program and get it out by the 28th!

Is it a plus? SOmetimes, in my opinion, if you are really striving for something you have to lose your patience about it.
So I would say it is a good and bad thing you must learn to control it.

Good point. Though before I would get impatient with themto the point where I'd just stop doing them for a while. So it is good in the sense that I do them more, which I need. But I still need to knock them out of the water.

Wonderful day.

I got some footage afterschool and just came from the gym. They have a new machine there specifically for calf muscles. It's my new favorite machine.

I also got some footage at the gym. I hit 4 new tricks that will be showcased in my February video I'm posting tomorrow. I'm not so sure if I hit one but I'll be finding out in 5 minutes so fingers crossed!!! My video will be completed tonight... I decided to go with Windows Movie Maker for this month. That way I have a month to get acquainted with my new software. I'm not spending much time on editting. I am very excited about the 4 new tricks though. 2 of them are for Ben Rinowski.

I also hit the Butterfly>Whirl>Infinity>Whirl drill I've been wanting to hit. Superb day.

Ok, so today was pretty nice. I had one of the longest runs I've had I believe, BSOSing Whirl, Far Pickup, Osis, Butterfly, and almost Dyno but I got excited and went for the Dexterity to early. It was about 14 contacts.

So I think that my video went over pretty damn well. I was sincerely surprised just watching myself at how much I've improved in just a month, though it certainly didn't feel like a month. I recieved tons of good tips and criticism. I will be starting to school all of my drills and I'll be starting on Illusions too. After that I'll go to DLO's and then start on a few sets to help open up my Toe game. I think out of all the things I want to hit, which is everything honestly, I want to be able to Toe shuffle like Vasek and so many others do.

So, I think I finally have found someone who is genuiney interested and is completely motivated to play Footbag. I actually just 20 minutes ago helped him buy 2 Mr. Sandbags and he will be purchasing Lavers in the next 2-3 weeks. I think having somebody to teach will not only open my eyes to things and help my game, but it will also allow me to share what I love to do. He is a bit heavy-set but as I told him, Footbag will help him shed some of that and he will be able to making adjustments to his game. Maybe he'll be the next Mike Anello? :D Who knows. He even made me a website for my Footbag stuff. He made a deal with me that he'd manage the site if I taught him afterschool and on weekends. It's a deal. I may turn it into a club website if some of the players moving to Raleigh want to start one. Too many possiblities. My mood is sky high.

Drill, drills, and drills tomorrow.

Have a wonderful night all,
-Alan

So I'm practicing after school and I'm in the middle of a Toe Whirl. Well some dumb fucks decide they'll walk right in my way at that moment. I tried to compensate for them so I didn't hit them and ended up stepping on my left foot and fell backwards. My ankle is now swollen and doesn't necessarily hurt, though at the time it happened I nearly threw up it hurt so much. I can walk on it with minimal limp but I have to stop playing Footbag for at least several days. Probably more. I'm pretty pissed off about it. The people who got in my way didn't even think twice about it. I want to play very badly right now. This is going to be a tough week.

As for todays pre-injury highlights. I hit Paradox Whirl Strongside for the first time, and I hit a good bunch of Strongside Illusions, half of them midstring. I'm very close to hitting Flip too, though obviously now I'm farther from it. :? I also hit a bunch of Guay stuff too.
