Philly Shred :)

Post by Footbag Forever »

Ok here's the dilly. I'm trying to get a few people together in Philly for some footbag goodness in the next few months! Seems like there isn't a lot of people getting together in this area to kick, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
There's about 6 or 7 who are going to try to make it to Temple University to play every 3rd Saturday of the month until April.
Dates: February 17th, March 17th, April 21st

People attending so far: (not necessarily every weekend)

Jon Schneider
Chris Miller
Drew Krause
Tom Stepek
Chris Balch
Hobbes (local friend)
and myself (Carrie LaGreca)

On any one of the given dates Drew, Tom, Jon, and myself should be playing. So there will always be some of us gettin our groove on! 8)

Anyone is welcome to come who can make it. I will say that there is limited space available in our in-door shred spot. Large enough for about 8-9 or so, but once March rolls around I'm hoping it will be warm enough to play outside, so the number of people won't matter so much. There's a few really cool places to play in center-city in very public areas!

As far as time is concerned, we'll prob all meet up in the early afternoon. Probably about 1-ish until our legs tell us we're done.

Afterwards I'm sure we'll all go get some grub, and some of us are going museum hunting. So, everyone is welcome to join us for the apres-footbag activites as well.

ok I think I covered the 5 W's.

PM me for more info./questions/comments/concerns. :)

Hope you can join us!

I think i'll be able to make it down to one or two of these sessions. It's not too far for me to drive down only like an hour and a half or so. I hope more people get interested in doning this.

See you soon.

If I'm halfway in shape and playing a little before then, I'll do my best to make it down for a session.

Word up! I'm psyched.

I'd be especially pleased to see Bob Riefer there...

(in my best "The Price Is Right" tone...)

Can't come, again. I have a lot of work to catch up, and I want to play with my home crew much more these days. NYFA usually suffers when it gets cold because we don't have an often available (and free) shred spot.

Still, I would love to visit Temple sometime. :)

It was carrie, drew, drew, jon, chris, and myself.

my highlights:
lots of long strings
Barfly rake
sympwhirling rake midstring
almost dimmiest bsos
almost pigbeater bsos
almost barfly back to back
almost spanish fly (on both sides)
almost flurry
getting close to replacing far legover with dlo
plenty of merkon>dod
plenty gyro
a fair bit of ducking rakes
plenty of eggbeaters and double downs
plenty of fun with a good bunch of friends.

So TU's 1st chapter is going down in the history books. I had a really awesome time with everyone. Thanks to everyone who made it down, and made this event possible! :)

Highlights for me:

hit my first clean Illusion
Finally hit a good clean whirl
first real clean dyno
longer strings
learned some new drills
Had a whole lot of fun with a lot of cool cats.
Got a NJ Spike n Shred T-shirt :)

I'm really looking forward to next time. Unfortunately Chris M. won't be with us anymore :(
But I'm hoping Bob Reifer will be able to make it out...and hopefully Tom and hobbes will be available too.
Cheers to an great day!

Trust me, I'm definitely considering some shred with the Temple crew. I'll see you guys in March or April.

And Drew Martin better bring "The Final Countdown" by Europe. :P
