Image
Summer, I miss you :(

Whatever. I hit some new tricks lately:
- spinning swirl
- fairy symp. whirl
- stepping ss torque

and I raised my pdx whirl record to 15.

damn, everytime I want to post here I need to search for it on page 3 :P

anyway. the fearless stuff from dc motivated me to train my 5s to get them more consistent. Lately I got
- blurriest -> blurry whirl
- blurry whirl x3
- flip spinning whirl (1st time)
- pdx blender (1st time)
- phoenix -> blurry whirl -> blurry whirl --> ps whirling drop - it was two times on my foot but rolled of

it's time to get some flipside 5s.

Hack The Beat vol.3 in Prague was cool 8) Some pictures are on footbag.at.

broke all my new year's resolutions and played very, very little since our footbag-vienna-video was made.

the result is that i'm a horrible footbag-player now.
the only good thing i hit the last 6 weeks was osisx110.

on the 31st of january i had the biggest exam i'll ever have in my whole life. it was civil law and i was really afraid to fail it (failed the written part in november) again. fortunately it (around 7 months of studying) all paid off (even the abstinence from footbag and social life) and i passed it with a good mark (even though 70 % of the other students failed).

:D

after that i went snowboarding for a week and had a great time. i really love it. on my last day i fell on my back and my head super hard (heard my head crush on the ice really hard), was really lucky though, because i didn't injure myself seriously. my back still hurts though, so i hope i can play today.

alex is getting really, really good! hope that gives me more motivation to start to play regularly and actually start to hit some nice tricks again.

dear modified,

i just got home and like max i got a big package from the embassy of moscow including a sports magazine where max and i are in it AND those christmas greetings cards. maybe i'll take a picture of them, they are just too funny and nice at the same time. these kids made those cards by themself, coloured them and pretty much wrote all the same things. it would be interesting to know, if they still play footbag (they all wrote of course that it's a wonderful, but hard sport).
lol, that's just so funny.

max and i are footbag-stars (in russia).

max, we should really write them a letter or a card as well. i mean you've gotta take care of your fans, eh?

i still suck at footbag and my back hurts (stupid ice floe), but i'll get good again. i think two weeks will do it (to get back to *normal*). i practised the last two days my basics and they are coming back. :)

tomorrow i've got another exam coming up (for my sports studies) which is sports psychology (sounds interesting, but isn't, since it's just learning by heart which i suck at).

next week i'll be in upper austria for a few days and then i'll go to innsbruck for the weekend (i'll take my snowboard with me of course). gonna meet a new female shredder there and show her some basics. always looking forward to playing with new austrian shredders in other cities. :D

and to holly:
to 90 % not. :(
i'd like to go (and it's breaking my heart not to go), but i only have the time (and money) for one journey/trip in my summer holidays. so i'll probably go backpacking for a month to thailand/laos/cambodia which is cheaper than a week/two weeks in florida.

.
.
forgot to mention that:
next year i'll either be studying in denmark, greece or norway for half a year. :D

Time for a new blog entry.

Nice session yesterday in the wuk. not much peolpe showed. I just realized that I was the only one from vienna. Armin and Armin vom fbv-neustadt were there, who will come to györ too :)

practiced my new routine which might work out quite good.
and I finally hit whirling swirl :D

at the end we (tammo philip vanessa pat and me) played some 4-square and I won the first game. Vanessa won the other two. I just realized that I was the only Austrian there :)

I got my new facile this week. Time for some wicked color combinations 8)

i haven't been posting in a while, neither have been browsing this forum a lot nor watched a footbag-video for quite a long time.

i'm doing fine.
my holidays were pretty nice. spent some time in upper austria and innsbruck.

just footbag isn't going well. i know it's because i don't play a lot, but it's still depressing that i seem to get worse all the time or at least i'm stuck on this certain level. like at german championships in berlin i was playing pretty well. since then i've never reached that level again.
i haven't been playing a lot though. i know.

yesterday alex and i had that show at the "USI clubbing". finally we prepared a new show to a new song with lots of synchro and cool stuff. like a real show. no single shredding parts.
i've never played so bad in my whole life. it was pretty late though (~a bit before midnight) and the lightning was just horrible. i couldn't really see the bag. still i'm pretty embarrassed. seriously. i felt like hiding in a dark cave.
since i couldn't stand the music there as well, i called some friends and went to an irish pub to hang out with them. talked a lot about summer holidays. one friend of mine is going to myanmar and malaysia. i'd love to go to myanmar as well (the political situation there is pretty shitty though).
with all that studying i've got a lot of time to make some plans about my summer holidays. i'm so looking forward to travelling again.

i play soccer now once a week (for my sports studies). pretty challenging since i can't really play and i'm the only girl. :O did a lot of sports the last few weeks (just not so much footbag), like played squash, went snowboarding again, etc.

hmm. going to györ tonight. sunshred footbag opening. on the one hand i'm really looking forward to going there since i'm sure i can't make it to a lot of footbag tournaments this year, but on the other hand i suck at footbag at the moment. i always hate to play bad at tournaments. i mean everbody wants to show off a bit, right?
looks like i'll be the only girl there. too bad i've got a boyfriend for almost three years. ;)

.
.
i'm actually wondering whether anybody noticed that upside down house on the top of the building in the background of the pic alex posted?

i've hit 10 ss fear like a week ago.

au revoir.

 8)
now that you mention it, what is that sideways house anyway? i tried reading whats on the building... but i cant.
poor verena... i want to tell you to keep trying and to footbag more, but it seems you already know that/ are doing that. im sorry to hear about your show not going how you wanted it to...
...maybe you should read back over your fan mail, and footbag for the kids  lol

The building is the museum of modern art. The house is an art-project. Pretty funny, but I think they remove it soon.

Sunshred Footbag Open was fun. Some impressions:
- I like the Bahnhof-club. It's fun every year
- czech people came surprisingly with one car packed full of finest freestyle legs (vaska, dex, ales and pavel) and won all competitions.
- I got 5th in routines playing the first time to a new song. I need to work on it more, had way too many drops.
1. Vaska (cz)
2. Dexter (cz)
3. Pavel (cz)
4. Dobias Lucko (sk)
5. Me (at)
6. - 10. Hungarians, whose names I do not remember
- I've hit my first sick 3 in competition (blurrywhirl - ripwalk - ps whirl)
- hungary has no shreditas :(
- Hungarians like Gösser (spezial), which is a bad Austrian beer.
- I still don't know how to spend 40 Euros at one evening in a club where the beer costs 1 euro :)
- a pigeon pood on Verena

After returning to Vienna, Verena and me went directly to shred a bit in the last sun of the weekend. I had some good runs. highlights:
- a run with blur -> pixie whirl rpt. midstring
- blurrywhirl -> stepping ss whirl -> blurrywhirl
- Blurriest -> blurrywhirl-> ps whirl

Now I need to get some sleep.

yesterday, while i was shredding a bit by myself at sports university, this one guy came up to me and told me i should perform in a western saloon to country music.
i was like "ah. okay" and didn't pay much attention.
three minutes later he came back and told me "ah. sorry. i didn't see the bag."

.
.
i still suck at footbag.
i'm getting a bit better though.
decided to relearn stepping set and making some progress on that.
finally hit pdx blenderx2 in györ.
won't make it to todexon. won't make it to worlds. booked my flight to thailand. from august 8th to september 12th i'll be travelling around thailand and laos or cambodia or myanmar. we'll see.
i've gotta study a lot. company law. also had some exam for my second study (sports).
on friday alex and i have an important footbag-show going on. did it dropless today.
in around a week i'll leave to go to la palma (canarian island) for a week. yeah! :)

.
.
and forgot to mention:
i hit 10 contacts of two-bag-inside-stall-juggling and 4 contacts of two-bag-outside-stall-juggling today. never tried that before.

happy easter. :D

funny thing happened to me today.
as it was easter sunday and pretty important to my mum, i went to church with my parents.
i entered the church and soon was recognized by a woman who came up to me and asked "wow. are you the girl who kicks this little bag around and can juggle with the feet? i met you at "museumsquartier" (note: that's the place where footbag-vienna plays in summer time)." she was really fascinated.
this woman actually lives very close to my parents' appartment block and was really suprised that i was my parents' child. she knows them a bit.
a few hours later when my parents came home from visiting a friend they met her by accident again. like in the morning at church she only talked about footbag and so my mum told her that i was gonna play in like half an hour in the basement. since she was still so interested my mum invited her to watch me play.
so i ended up showing a random 35-year-old woman, her husband and their cute little child what footbag is about.
i asked them if they wanted to try as well. the husband and the daughter didn't want to. the woman was eager to try it, but too shy at first. i convinced her and soon she was hitting her first kicks.
i can't explain that in english that well, but i've never seen a woman (who will probably never end up playing) being that interested in footbag. she was as fascinated as i was when i found out about footbag 4 1/2 years ago. you could see that in her eyes. it's sad though that she apparently found out too late. it must take a lot of courage to start playing footbag at that age.

happy birthday footblog-vienna. 2 years old and pretty rusty :)

anyways. Now that's summer again I want to play 4-5 times a week. To reach this I also need to play alone, which sucks a bit. The good thing is that I really like skooling (new) concepts again and that's okay when playing alone.

Lately I skooled some torque stuff:
drifter > torque rpt.
torque > ripwalk bs
blurry whirl > pdx torque
blurriest > pdx torque
pdx drifter > pdx torque bs

see y'all in vienna this summer 8)

hello.

haven't posted in ages and haven't hit a new trick for a long time. my runs are getting longer and harder though. i really try hard to play four times a week now, so that i'll be in a good shape for euros this year. since i haven't played a lot this year, it's time for some serious footbag action. :P
my shins are still bothering me and so is university.

i've hit some new combos, but i can't remember most of them:
smear>atomsmasher>pixie ss whirl
smear>DATW>smear>DATW>pixie torque
DATWx4
stepping ss clipperx9
fairy legoverx10
magellan>pixie legover rpt is getting easy, i hope to hit a new unique toe shuffle record soon
footed DATW>pixie legover rpt

yeah. can't remember anything else. besides the first combo no really good stuff, but i just wanted to make a post again.

i honestly don't know. i think it's 11. not a lot, but it's just pixie and fairy stuff.

two days ago, i hit fairy ss legover>fairy legover (rpt)>fear>ss fear (rpt) though. if i added my unique pixie shuffle run to that (pixie legover>magellan (rpt)>smear>ss smear (rpt)), that would make 16 contacts. i hope to hit that soon, but it's pretty hard.

the last two sessions i didn't hit anything special either, but i practised quite hard and had fun, so that was good.

yesterday i played with alex for more than two hours. i love two-(wo)man-sessions. it's really effective. at tournaments i love circles with three, but when practising, three isn't exhausting enough. i love being really worn out after a session.

my double legovers are finally getting better. i hit pixie out of DLO (hadn't done that in ages) and hit a run with pixie and fairy double legover. hit pixie ss torque on the side i haven't tried before. should really work on my flip torques though. have totally neglected them.

my strong side stepping is definitely getting a lot better, but my flipside is still driving me crazy. i'm really having a hard time to learn a proper stepping set on that side. i'm positive though that soon, it'll be mine. 8)

after the footbag-session alex, pauli and i chilled out in the MQ. was fun! :)

just had a short session that lasted for 45 minutes. didn't have more time. university is super stressful. tomorrow i've got a sports exam and i've got a huge law exam coming up. it's +1000 pages to study.

my new favourite trick is pixie double legover. i feel so strong and fast when i do this trick.
today i hit dimwalk out of pixie double legover. a super nice one! soon i'll hit pixie double legover x2. 8)

finally something which is worth a blog entry:
hit a 3-dex combo the first time :D
blurriest > blurry dlo

other than that I'm trying to get my osises more controllend. Thus resulting in
spinning osis > spinning osis
ducking osis > spinning clipper bs

some other stuff:
tomahawk > tomahawk
stepping whirl bsos
27 stepping clipper
pixie ducking whirl

dere!

yo!
stepping whirl > barfly bs
blurry whirl > barfly bsos
blurry whirl > stepping whirl bs
blurry whirl > tomahawk bs
blurry whirl > far motion

maybe I play a routine this weekend. It will most probably suck as always. maybe even more because I haven't practiced it since tdx :)
