Wednesday 2/21 2 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 36.5 hours
Total hours played in Feb 2007: 17.25 hours
Wednesday night session. I hit DLO BSOS again, that makes 3 times now
Mainly just did runs. Hit some good repeat combos. Shins started hurting after about an hour and a half, but only slightly, not nearly as much as they used to a few weeks ago.
Saturday film for online comps
I need to start training for MFJ. If there was an intermediate rippin run and you could go tiltless I would totally pwn it. I'd just like to make an impact at this event so people don't think I'm still just some n00b.
What I want to skool next session
DATW both directions, both sides (double downs here I come!!!)
Hitting stuff out of Osis besides my two main bails
Infinities
Flip symp mirage (I can hit it, need to get it solid)

Played a little bit and went to the gym before going to see THE SWORD at Emo's
Totally awesome show. The Sword is a medieval metal band, kinda like a way cooler and more doom sounding version of Dragon Force, also without the 80s vibe and non of the image, they look pretty much like 4 normal dudes. But when they get on stage and pick up their instruments, they fucking rip. Here is their video for "Winter's Wolves":

Rocked the hot dog stand TWICE. I had the drunchies so I loaded on the Dave Insanity Sauce and plenty of hot peppers. My mouth was hotter than the 9 Hells but it felt soooo good, I loved it
I've always wanted to develop a superhuman spicy tolerance. I think I'm finally getting there.
Saurday 2/24 3.0 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 40.0 hours

Played with James, Cody and John. I was hungover and it was definitely cutting into my game. I did manage:
DLO BSOS, probably the 4th or 5th time now
Butter > Osis > Mirage > rpt + 2 more contax. Silly BOPpy combo, but my osis needs work so I was glad I hit that.
*New trick* sorry I can't tell you what it is. I was talking about it with James and Cody, why it was so hard. James was able to hit it after a couple tries. I watched his technique and when he gave me the bag I hit it first try like it was nothing
ZOMG how did that happen! Hit again 2nd try! After that it was not so easy. I got it on camera, but the angle was really bad, you couldn't see the bag too well. Oh, and Cody went on to BSOS it
in his next run.
Sunday 2/25 1.5 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 41.5 hours
Total hours played in Feb 2007: 22.25 hours
Filmed for the online comps. I wasn't feeling so hot, and I was really frustrated. I did manage to hit my new trick from yesterday perfectly clean on camera, with a great angle. It looks sooooooo dope
Tried many sick 3's. I was really having trouble. I couldn't hit anything. I was almost thinking about giving up for the day and filming tomorrow. Then I thought of a really sick combo that I hadn't thought of before. I ended up hitting it 3rd try
I like it because it's genuine, and it uses all 4 standard surfaces, both clippers and both toes
I'd rather hit something like that than some big one sided combo. It looks really sweet. All the moves are clean, I'm really happy with it
Amber has been gone all weekend visiting her uncle and aunt. I miss her
Well, time to rock some dinner and do whatever. Many props to Clavens for rocking the PSU talent show.

Wow it's crazy how high traffic the blog section is. Here is a look back at the past shred week:
Wednesday 2/28 2.0 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 43.5 hours
Total hours played in Feb 2007: 24.25 hours
Session with Cody and John. John is now apparently hitting phasing sets, but wasn't able to hit anything other than clipper out of them. Cody hit ripstein again. I managed DLO BSOS again, my new trick again, and close on flipside. Mainly just shredded, nothing huge to report.
Saturday 3/3 1.25 hour
Total hours played in 2007: 44.75 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 1.25 hours
I was out of town. I got in a little solo session in Rusk, TX. Worked on illusion and osis mostly.
Spinning Osis BS (haven't hit flip in a while)
Lots of BOP intensive runs with plenty of osis
Run > Osis x 4
Short run > Infinity x 8. Working on hit pivots on infinities, they are getting easier.
PDX Illusion BSOS x 2 plus BSOS several other times. This move is all about the hip pivot.
Getting close to symp DLO. Toe DLOs are fairly easy these days, on strongside at least anyways.
My shins hurt after an hour. At least they are hurting less and less each time. I'll try shredding tonight and see what happens. Can't wait for MFJ and for the online comps to come out

Props on EVERYTHING man! Crazy shit. When are you going to start on Whirls? Those get very fun. If your shins are still getting better though I wouldn't suggest starting them until the shins are good for at least a week. Thanks for the video feedback too.
There's so many new things I want to try out.
But I understand your meaning and I'll definitely stick to my stuff. The only thing new I'll be trying is Zooming. I managed to hit it 3 times today on my strongside. (Was the only thing I could really do besides Legovers with my ankle.) But that's it really for new stuff. I'm making a list of stuff to try out once I get my current stuff schooled.
Hope everythings going well for you bud!
And I want Osis x10 in the next 2 weeks(I know you don't have as much times as me

I agree with the props-giving above.
I don't often visit here but I might start! Your progress is good and you have the care to post about what you're hitting and planning on working.
I'm most impressed by DATW all ways. DLO's and shuffle are nice too but keep working those doubles, man. Keep it up.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Thanks to Kevin for editing that picture out.
I actually haven't hit DATW any other way than in to out on strongside, but I would like to get them all some time soon. I thought it was a dumb trick for a very long time, but now I realize it's one of those fundamental moves that is key for barrages, double downs and stuff like that. So I have some catching up to do.
I realize now I need to drill clippers more. I still can't hit 20 on each side
Here is a report from the last couple short sessions. I've been stopping as soon as my shins start to hurt even a little bit
Monday 3/6 1 hour
Total hours played in 2007: 45.75 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 2.25 hours
I played at the gym.
ICDLOPD 3 full repeats (24 contax)
Toe DLO BSOS
PDX mirage > Symp Mirage > DLO BS - would love to get the sauce on that one some time.
[Butter > Mirage > Legover ] RPT > [Butter > Pickup > Mirage] RPT > [Butter > Pickup] > RPT > few more contax
Butter > Osis > Mirage > rpt + 2 more contax
32 minutes of cardio on the ellipticals afterwards
Tuesday 3/6 0.75 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 46.5 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 3 hours
Played at the gym again.
Butter > Osis > Mirage > rpt a couple times
Infinity x 2 > Osis x 2 a few times
Ducking PDX mirage BS, shoulda got BSOS but had to stop.
Session tonight, should be good. Maybe Barton Springs afterwards?
Also Clutch and Five Horse Johnson are playing in town this Saturday. Then SXSW festival next week. Good times.

It's regular mirage. Otherwise it doesn't switch sides unless you do the butters toe SS. I did hit BOP x 2 the other day, but of course that's one sided.Carlos wrote:"Butter > Osis > Mirage > rpt a couple times "

There's hust too damn much to give props on man!
I';m glad Osis is finally coming around for you. I'm trying to figure out a way to tweak my Flip Osis so I can hit it like I could before I fucked my ankle.
But soon.
When are you going to start trying Whirls?
And WOOT for no shin splints!

Meant to have a session at the rec center last night. It was being used by some volleyball tournament so we played outside at some tennis courts that were next to a skatepark. That ended up being a good thing, read on.
Monday 3/12 2.25 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 53.75 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 10.25 hours
Highlights:
Toe DLO and near DLO BSOS in separate runs
PDX Illusion BSOS a couple times
A few close attempts at SS Symp DLO
DATW-in a few times, almost on flip to get BSOS. No luck on DATW-out
Lots of my usual drills, numerous 20+ tiltless runs. Now hitting ATWs mid run, both sides each way in order to train for DATWs and pixie sets.
Osis BSOS in a bunch of runs
Verrrry close to hitting stuff out of flip stepping. I never force new tricks LOL. I think I had about 10 attempts all night.
While trying to figure out flip stepping I realized in an effort to drop my weight on the clipper I was hunching over a lot. I made an effort to improve my upper body posture (NOT hunching, standing up straight) on both sides and it made a huge difference on strong side. I can now hit blur very easily on strong side. I attempted fog (blurry DLO) again and it definitely felt possible, which is a big improvement since the last times I've attempted it when it felt impossible. I think it's cool how working on flip taught me something for strongside. Further proof it's always good to learn both sides at the same time.
A couple kids from the skatepark came up to Cody and I and asked if they could film us on their camera phone. We just busted some basic tiltless/BOP in order to keep the # of contacts high. A couple minutes later they told us that they hacked at their high school but had never seen anything like what we were doing before. I immediately went into Mr. Friendly Footbagger mode
I told them all about footbag and they seemed pretty pumped about it. Everything from bags and shoes, to websites and tournaments. One of them even wrote our website down on a $5 bill. I invited them to come to our sessions, I hope they do. One of them even wanted Cody to make him a bag (codebags are not for sale to the general public at this time). Hopefully we'll see these guys again and they'll get into it
I sweated a lot. My legs feel 100% healed at this point. I did get some cramps in my abs and shoulder muscles though. I haven't gotten those in a lonnnnng time. They are usually the result of over exertion, they happened after very long runs.
I really want to play again tonight but I think I'm going to abstain. Things seem to be going really well on the shin splints front and I intend to keep it that way. I'll probably just hit up the gym and do some upper body shiz. Ohhhhh yeah.

Awesome stuff man! Great job with the new body posture though, I noticed something to that effect on myself a while back that was affecting my Flip Clippers and adjusted my posture. It's amazing how much it helps.
I'm going to have to give the most props though to Osis BSOS all those times. I'm glad those are getting so easy for you now.
Always the Footbag recruiter.
Be sure to fill us in on how that works out!
Do you think it was the insoles that helped out with the shin splints so much or was it more of a mix between the insoles and getting used to certain moves?
Either way. You're doing great man. I look forward to when you finally get your ass up to Raleigh.
