montana is gunna kick ass
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

Some of you wanted to see this, the whole aerospaceage warrior video:
http://www.sergedefraene.com/monstermag ... _stuff.wmv
Wednesday 3/14 1 hour
Total hours played in 2007: 54.75 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 11.25 hours
Normally Wednesday nights are solid 2 hour session but I had to quit early because my shins started hurting. A few strings, a few highlights
Symp mirage BSOS, not too hard actually
Toe DLO BSOS, tried to get near DLO BSOS in the same string but only got it one side. That would have been epic.
Did get near DLO BSOS again a couple other times
Eggbeater > run. Haven't hit this move in a while.
DATW a few times
I'm at the point where if my shins start hurting I stop right away and don't play through it. It sucks, but it's the best thing I can do. I probably won't shred again till Saturday, but I'll do some cardio at the gym. Word to your respective mothers.
Iron Clad out
P.S. Trying to go vegan. This is my second day so far so good.

Bad luck on your shins man. I hope they start to get better long-term soon. Props on the DLO's BSOS!
Hey man, is there a "Wholefoods" grocery store anywhere in your area?? They carry tons of stuff for both Vegan, Vegetarian, and the non-vegetarian/vegans. There is a drink I bought there once that has an assload of natural protein for vegans and vegetarians. It takes a while to get used to but it's pretty tasty. I'll see if I can't get the name of it for you.
Later!

It's Saturday, so of course. I always shred on Saturday
Session today was just James and I
Saturday 3/17 3.25 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 58 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 14.5 hours
I was planning on having a really killer session. It wasn't as grandiose as I envisioned but it was good. James also wanted to have a killer session, he shredded off the hook. He hit 2 new fives: flip spinning whirl and scorpions tail (both incredibly clean BTW). He also hit blurry whirl BS, mobius, got 7 pieces of the triforce and we both hit this really crazy 16 contact tiltless drill. He also hit some 4>4s including Blur > DOD on flipside.
My highlights:
Backside Blur
2nd 5 ever
Spinning Clipper BSOS a few times. Almost hit spinning clip > DLO BSOS
near and toe DLO BSOS in seperate runs, several times
Eggbeater and very close on flip
One of my drills which consisted of both near and far pickups and legovers all BSOS seperated by clippers. It took like 5 or 6 tries but I finally got it. James hit it too into a run with a bunch of other shit like ripwalks and whirls and such.
Dimwalk > PS Mirage. I've hit before but once, it's my only 4>4. I was really close to Parkwalk > *secret* (sssssh it's my sick 1)
3 pieces of the triforce
We shredded for soooo long. That's all I can remembert atm. My legs are SORE but I feel GOOD.

Awesome man! Glad to hear you had a great session! Spinning Whirl is a 4 ADD though if I'm not mistaken. It's a sick move either way. Props on your 2nd 5! Also glad to hear Spinning was being good to you today!
In short: Props on everything!
Also glad to know shin splints didn't rear its ugly head after a 3 hour session!
And if you don't mind my asking, what is this Triforce?

Spinning Whirl is 5 adds. Paradox is implied for spinning moves where the downtime component can be paradox (e.g. spinning whirl is 5 adds, gyro whirl is 4 adds. Same with mirage, gyro is 3, spinning is 4)
I forgot I also hit
Butter > Spinning Butter BS first try
The triforce is the alternating sides and increasing repeats clipper drill.
L Clip > R Clip > L Clip x 2 > R Clip x 2 > L Clip x 3 ad nauseum
Sealing the set of clip x 3 on each side is getting 3 pieces of the triforce. It's a good idea to hum the Zelda theme music when anyone is going for it. You can defeat Gannon by hitting clip x 10 > op clip x 10 at the end. That's 110 contacts.
BTW day 4 of veganism going great
Whole Foods is actually based out of Austin and we shred down the street from the headquarters every Saturday. I actually usually buy my food at a farmers co-op that is a few blocks from my house. They are great because they have a lot of veg friendly and organic food, kinda like whole foods, but it's local

Oh! Wow, seems I'm hitting moves worth more ADD's than I thought then.
My mistake.
Props on Butterfly>Spinning Butterfly too! Next time you do that one tack on another Butterfly>Spinning Butterfly and do it on the Flipside too.
Oh! I remember now, I've actually tried that drill after reading a post of yours about it, I need to start doing that again.
Oh wow, I didn't know that. 8 ) We're actually making a stop at Whole Foods tomorrow, so I'll be able to find out the name of that drink. That's cool that you have a cheaper alternative too. I wish we had something like that but no, all we have are fast food places.
Have a good day tomorrow buddy!
Oh and will you be entering the Tripod Contest?

Dude! that's awesome! The triforce!
Ok... so. I guess I defeated Ganon, AND hooked up with Zelda! In other words, I got all the pieces of the triforce, and then went and got pieces 9, 8, 7, and 6 AGAIN.
It was cool.
Man, I like that you're spinning recently. Spinning Clip > DLO is a sweet link.
I wanna see a vid soon.

Ben,
Way to go on the vaganism man! I've started vegan about a month ago and love it! keep up the great work on footbag! Seems like your coming along nicely.
Edit: I can't believe that I'm rereading this now and I spelled Veganism wrong LOL my bad! Keep up the awesome shred Ben!
Hey when your hitting the clip to op clip increment drill are you stepping down when you do same side (example: L clip step down L clip) or are you doing it without stepping down then going to the next side? I hope I explained this right LOL!

Yay! I knew that post would elicit a response from someone. Thanks for being that guy. I read your blog too, although I think I post less in general. Plus I think you and I are fairly close in ability, although it looks like you're training more often, so we'll see how long that lasts.
Thanks for working on hosting another tourney. I keep talking a good game, but I have too much out of whack in my life to put on an event, so I'm glad you can. And Houston is way more drivable than Austin, so I think I can get one or two more New Orleans kickers there.
On a note tangentially related to yout blog, I beat Twilight Princess on the CG, and was glad not to have bought into Wii hype, as I found the game anticlimatic. It is good, though, that it helps your shred.
Cheers!

Wow I guess I got a pretty popular blog LOL.
Alan: Sometimes I think you post in here more than me LOL.
Josh: Yeah, the triforce. I definitely DIDN'T invent the drill, but I think I may have come up with the silly name for it. Just because it had 9 elements it made me think of the triforce from LOZ I guess. But it might have been someone else, I don't remember.
Zac: Good to see you on modified more these days. (Oh I'm sorry is that a bad thing? how the hell else am I gonna communicate with the guy?). You better watch it, my flip stepping is coming along and it's the same side as my strong DLO, I should hit haze soon
Carlos: Where the hell you been dude? Good to see you back around. I hope the shred is going well. As for the clipper drill I do plant between clippers on the same side. No-plant clippers feel pretty goofy for me, but that is a popular trick in Austin.
Rob: The date has been set for the fitness event as 9/22. Assuming we do choose to do it with them that will be it. I'm pumped. Have fun up in Montreal? Have you ever been? I've been 2 or 3 times, amazingly beautiful city (when you don't count that french canadians that are snobby, not all of them mind you), you should enjoy it a lot. But yeah, if you are going in March or April it's going to be COLD so pack appropriately.
Woohoo! After a 3 or 4 day break I played some footbag last night. It was not all that great of a session. I hit some impressive shit, but my string length was overall pretty weak because I haven't been sleeping well the past few nights (new puppy keeping me up and waking me up very early, LOL)
Wednesday 3/22 2 hours
Total hours played in 2007: 60 hours
Total hours played in Mar 2007: 16.5 hours
Highlights:
Mirage > Legover > rpt forever. I honestly don't know how many contacts it was but I will say 37. I cramped up after that, I was very winded
Eggbeater > DLO
3rd try
That was an old Zac Jackson challenge that I never remembered to try when I was actually shredding. Glad I was able to hit it 3rd try
Flip Blur
Oh yeah boyyyyyeee! First trick I've actually hit out of flip stepping. This set is reeeeally strong as in I can pop it up very high, much higher than strong side. I actually missed the trick the first time because I set too high. This set is going to be like a wild bull that I need to tame
Once I get it under control it's gonna r0x0r
Merkon BSOS first try. I was actually going for starting a run with spinning clipper but had to bail to legover. Then I figured what the hell go for BSOS and I hit it
YaY
We are planning a Friday session w00t!

About the accidental bsos, I think I posted a story in my blog once of how I accidentally hit mobius b2b for the first time, very inspiring. I thiank it is in the oklahoma blog, but not for positive who cares. I was on the news once playing footbag for like a second, A second. They came to my house and filmed my bathroom because there was a swarm of bees living in a shed by our house. I was playing footbag in the street at the time and they filmed me for like half an hour and the only footbage they put of me on there was me dropping a toe ss btrfly? I was pretty good at the time too. What ever happened to those guys you were playing with, definitely no the regular crew I know and love.

Ben R,
The regular crew and I definitely still shred. They just don't post much on fizzied. Wednesday's session was with John and Cody. I'm not sure if you met James (he doesn't even have a modified acct, he just reads it) during the TX state tournament as he was sick for most of it but I shredded with him on Saturday, he busted some crazy shit like Scorpions Tail, you can read about it a few posts up. Also, we have a new guy who is a UT student who is getting into footbag. We are having a session at the capitol building tonight and he should be there.
I forgot to mention, I hit your challenge Osis > DLO the other night, almost BSOS. I didn't actually get it on flip, but I came pretty close a few times, once in a run where I had already hit it strongside.

Hehe, well I guess that means you should post in here more often then!
Props on everything though, especially Flip Blur! Blurs are sweet. Anyways, as for Whirl... I have a surprise for you:

Granted, it's not top quality and I winged it but I think it turned out fairly well for one solid shoot. Oh, and I swear a lot heh.
Let me know if this helps you!
