haha ah yes the infamous Josh we've been hearing about all this time. For awhile I starting to worry a little about Tom and his friend who just HAPPENED to never be around. Was starting to think he was making footbag friends up in his head. But, alas, you DO indeed exist. *phew*Josh B wrote:oh btw carrie, tom told me you thought i was his imaginary friend so now you know hes not schizophrenic
Well I do hope you can make it out to next month's shred. It's going to be too cold this Saturday to shred outside, so it looks like we'll be inside in the common lounge. Next month I'm hoping we'll be able to play out in center-city, so you're choice of the date to come down couldn't be better.
Looking forward to meeting you. Gotta live up to your stellar reputation hehe.
Josh Bizzle what's da dizzle? Last time I saw you was on the last day of Funtastiks '06.
I guess I'll have to show up at Temple one more time on April.

Jon Schneider
Chris Balch
Drew martin
Drew Krause
Tom Stepek
Hobbes
Weylon Lew

Should be good times. I figure we'll all try to get together around 1-ish. Then let the second TU shred chapter begin!
Hopefully next time we'll be seeing bob Reifer and Josh Benham!!

Ok so Temple Chapter #2 ended up being a little on the small-ish side.
Due to an unfortunate string of events, the head count was cut to half. All of them were due to injury I believe, so it just ended up being Weylon, Drew K, Hobbes, and myself. It was still a lot of fun though. Met up around 1-ish, played for a few hours, then got some pizza. btw the sicilian slice i got was bangin! Chilled in our friend Matt's room for awhile, had a beer or two. So it ws a good time, but hopefully next time we'll have a stronger number to work with.
see you all next time!
highlights:
•decent strings
•hit a real clean illusion
•when we were chillin in our friend Matt's room I was sitting on a futon and got top-shelf first try!
•Weylon gave me a sweet tulip and colonial red mini, which I'm pretty excited to kick with.
•Drew got whirl down! madd props!

Top shelf! That was super fun.
I was trying to get Matt Cross' top-shelfy-ankle-cranky stall, but failed miserably.

Drew Krause got whirl only after a few tries! He has a high potential to learn. We definitely need to get some players down to Temple in the 3rd chapter!

There you have it! The real reason why Temple is so awesome...automatic revolving doors... But seriously...April shred here is going to be off the hizzy!Wasabi wrote:I really can't wait for the April chapter to begin. Temple U. definitely has a thriving, open scene perfect for footbag. More East Coast players should visit on April 21st!
PS: Temple U. Is the first place I've been to that had an automatic revolving door! Remarkable! FASCINATING!!!
I think tentative players are going to be:
Jon Schneider
Chris Balch
Drew Martin
Drew Krause
Weylong Lew
maybe Josh Benham
Tom Stepek
myself (Carrie)
maybe Bob Refier
anyone else who wants to get in on a good time!
I'm hoping for the April shred, as long as it's not raining we could all play outside somewhere in center-city I have a few cool places in mind. This will require the purchase of subway tokens and such though, any thoughts?
Just kinda wanted to know if everyone was cool with that. If not we can always find a cozy place on campus (in north philly) to play.

Well the last shred sesh of this semester is going to be next month April 21st. So if you can make it down to that, that would be awesome. If not there's always fall semester as long as I'm still here at Temple. If not hopefully Drew and Tom will still get come shred together.Matt Cross wrote:josh benham an imaginary friend?! what has the east coast come to... I just hope the dealer's back on the scene soon. Hope I can make one of your sessions some time
Yeah I've heard a lot about the success of Chilly Philly back in the day, but I have a few setbacks. I'm still quite new to this sport (maybe 5 months in) so I don't really know exactly what goes into putting something like that together. I would need an immense amount of event planning help. Also I'm not sure where I would come up with funds to host an event. God knows I'm a poor college kid and can hardly afford to keep food in my stomache lol. Maybe after going to a few tournies and talking to some people we can throw something down. Possibly next fall or spring semester.Pirate Man wrote:You've got so many people around, you guys should throw an all out jam or tournament.

Matt, he has been imaginary for a while. I know I haven't been able to make it to the last couple temple shreds, even though I go there, but work is work, and I just can't get out of it sometimes. Let me clear that up alot of the time. Josh B has been an imaginary figure for a little bit now. Im sure hes been really busy though painting for his pops and what not... I will try to make it to the next temple shred. I was gonna say we should hold it the last week of november, I might have my place, and we could party afterwards, ghetto style. Think about it peoples. By the way, carrie and drew. lets play thursday night its supposed to be nice out.

So...I'm thinking I might keep this shred session to Saturday (sorry Drew M.) it just seems like it'll work out better that way. so plan Saturday around 1-ish as usual. I'm hoping since it's supposed to be nice out that we'll be able to play outside. should be like 56 degrees I think. So we'll see when the time comes.
