Slurpees are so refreshing while playing, but they make you extremely full and I tend to cramp up after I finish 1.3L. Usually water though since according to my friends I have the best tasting water in the world at my house.

How come nobody drinks Powerade? I do. Powerade rocks Gatorade's ass into the ground.
Is it an American thing to drink Gatorade instead of Powerade?

As far as an energy drink is concerned, I believe in the power of red-bull.

"In 1982, Dietrich Mateschitz became aware of products called "tonic drinks", which enjoyed wide popularity in Asia, and got - while sitting in the bar at the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong - the idea of marketing those functional drinks outside Asia.

In 1984, Mateschitz founded the company Red Bull GmbH. He fine-tuned the product, developed a unique marketing concept and started selling Red Bull Energy Drink on the Austrian market in 1987. Red Bull got off the ground in no time flat, giving people wings right from the start. In 1992, Red Bull touched down in its first foreign market, in Hungary. Today, Red Bull is energizing over 70 countries around the globe.

More than a billion cans of Red Bull are consumed each year. Responsibility for the unparalleled success of the world's No. 1 energy drink is shared by the company's 1,500 employees, of whom around 200 work at Red Bull Headquarters in Fuschl am See (pop. 1,344), not far from Salzburg/Austria.

Red Bull is much more than a soft drink - it is an energy drink. It was made for moments of increased physical and mental stress and improves endurance, alertness, concentration and reaction speed. In short: it vitalizes body and mind. The effectiveness of Red Bull Energy Drink has been proven by a large number of scientific studies and is appreciated by many of the world's top athletes and drivers, opinion-leaders and hard-working people with active lifestyles."

As far as thirst qeunchers go, I choose Powerade.

"POWERADE combines carbohydrates with fluids for energy and hydration. It quenches thirst and replenishes minerals and carbohydrates lost during sports or other intense activities.

POWERADE was first launched in the United States in 1990 as a fountain drink and re-launched in 2001 with a new extended line of products. The new POWERADE formula includes B vitamins, which play a key role in energy metabolism. POWERADE is sold in more than 45 countries around the world -- key markets include Australia, Canada, Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, South Africa and the United States.

Launched in summer 2001, POWERADE Light contains only 25 calories per 32-ounce serving and also features B vitamins.

POWERADE is in seven flavors available in various parts of the world: Mountain Blast, Fruit Punch, Lemon-Lime, InfraRed Freeze, Arctic Shatter, Green Squall and Jagged Ice. POWERADE Light is offered in certain parts of the world in two new flavors: Andean Chill, a clear, white grape and strawberry flavor blend, and Aleutian Stream, a bright green blend of apple, pear and cherry flavors. "

Now why is the selection of a drink important to footbagers like us? One important thing is contained in these two drinks that we need to consume EVERY time we shred. Vitamin B and Sub B Vitamins. Im talking about B6, Niacin, and Panthothenic Acid. These Vitamins, in combonation with Carbs and Glucides give us the energy to over-exert ourselves when playing Footbag. Lets look at Red Bull for a second.

Red Bull (http://www.redbull.com) comes in two forms. Carbonated american/canadian/european form in a can, and Bottled elixer-of-life form that is imported from Taiwan. I have found a store in Brantford that sells this product and I have to say that I dont even want to try the carbonated form. But in both cases, Red Bull has 0.13 mg/ml of Naicin. When I showed my dad this he was like; 'JESUS CHRIST! YOU DRINK THAT?!', (meaning it was astounding) and 0.033 mg/ml of Panthothenic Acid. A major energy boost that hits you quick and hard. Vitamin B6 and Sugar give you a rush beyond compare. And the basis of this elixer is water. This drink has quickly become the official drink of .hack// and once you try it, you will see why. (ask johnny... dont take my word for it.)

Now, Red Bull does everything that we want it to do, however it does not quench your thirst during a meet or session. So after careful product research and testimonial reviews, I chose POWERADE. Why? Simple really. Have a look at what I have found out.

Powerade provides 8% Carbohydrates in different forms to provide fuel for muscles, respritory and other systems. Has a balanced electrolyte content to assist in re-hydration, and enhanced B vitamin complex with B3, B6 and B12 to juice up your metabolism. And it quenches your thirst like a motherfucker.

So that is my ramble thread. I hope you get to try Red Bull and powerade at a sesh sometime soon. If you can, make it down to Brantford and stay a day.

but other energy drinks (specifically sobe adrenaline rush) have everything that Red Bull has AND more B vitamins and ginseng. Some time I'll get a can and list the ingredients.....still on knee injury though, so it may be a while.

Shouldn't this be in general footbag? (The answer is yes)

i've officially decided to try red bull. i never had it but i hear from u guys and my friends that its the shizzite.

I agree zeke, gatorade does sit in ur stomach alot more then water. But i like how it keeps u goin.

Also i think a shake before you play might slow you down caue of the extra weight and just the sheer mass of a shake sittin in ur gut.
