Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Jam in Boise April 1st!

OK, I know this is super short notice, but this is going to be a Jam you won't want to miss! We'll be having a HUGE jam here on the weekend of March 31st and April 1st in Honor of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who will be in Boise that weekend, culminating with a talk: "Leading Into the Light" on Sunday evening.

We're still working out the specifics for the Jam, but the Freedom Shredquartrs is LARGE, and we can provide lodging for all attendees. As the event draws nearer I will be posting more specifics. Luis has already bought his tickets to come out here and will be staying the following month leading into the Montana Freestyle Jam. I anticipate a large turnout from Portland, and am also hoping to get some of the Montana crew here for this event.

This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see someone who is truly a modern day Saint. Just to be clear, his (main) foundation, the Art of Living, is Non-Religious, Non-Governmental, and Non-Profit. do you have any more info on the event? is he the only one speaking, is it a whole weekend of stuff or just a two hour talk by him and it's done, how much would it cost on the off chance we stop shredding for a bit and check it out etc

It just so happens I'm planning on cruising through southern Idaho on my way from my spring break backpacking trip in California to Montana arround that time. It looks good, but I can't promise anything 'cause I'll be with 3 non-footbaggin' friends. If I can convince the rest of The MFA to come down, it would be a definite.

I think I might make it to this jam. My cousin happening to be going to Boise around the same time and I could just hitch a ride with him. I'm not for sure on the dates he is going, but when I figure something out I'll let you guys know.

looks like i can probably make it. i'll probablyleave here that friday night after work, get into nampa somewhere between 1 and 3 am, hang out for saturday, sunda, and leave monday afternoon.

Jeremiah and I are going to purchase bus tickets this weekend.

Well my ride there fell through and I was hoping to catch a ride with you guys. I actually have -$20 right now so I don't think I can raise enough money for a bus ride down there. Also I just looked at greyhound.com and there is no returning buses that day or something because nothing is showing up.

EDIT: I thought about driving, but I can't handle another 8+ hour trip by myself both ways. I tend to fall asleep when I'm driving long distances, even as close as Missoula.

bus ticket is going to be around $100 = No way I'm going to make this. Which sucks because Zeb and I planned a project together.

, so you won't need much for food, unless you're set on being a meat eater while you are here (you'll have to get that yourself).

Bring your own food for the road trip and you'll save by not buying crap at the gas stations.

planning a footbag event around his arrival is a neat idea, Daryl. it would be awesome to see him talk, and much better to have the opportunity to talk with him.

I'm personally quite inspired by him. Since I took the AOL course (which Sunny signed me up for without asking me, though I'm very, very glad she did) I'll have an opportunity to meet with him personally. Sunny (in particular) and I are also working to promote the event, so I think we'll have a little extra pulling power and can get a few of the other attendees in to see him up close and personal as well. He's a nice guy, to be sure. I look to him as a role model - this man has literally changed the lives of millions of people worldwide through his organization.

Kevin: What happened to the driving plan and picking up James? I'm really psyched you are making it, but does that mean Jer is out? There's still time to make it work
