I hate to be the person to say anything negative, especially since I know I'll receive criticism for it, but I really think that none of the surging sets are close to clean. I watched the video a second time and paused it when the bag was released on each surging set, and the bag definitely leaves his foot completely after the set (and actually a lot of the spinning sets are the same). The mobius>bigwalk combo is a great example, where he's actually looking at the bag after the spin while it is still on his foot. Clean surging is possible, I've seen it occasionally, but maybe it's time to accept that most surging is not clean, in the definition of surging, and call that something else. Maybe my definition of clean surging is the problem, I'm not sure. I'm not going to get into a debate about this anyway, I just posted it up in the vague and optimistic hope that Takumi and other people who do surging realise that there might be a problem. If he's happy with how it looks, all power to him. I just felt it would be better to say something than to stay silent.
edit; Also I have mild concussion from an indoor soccer semi final head collision last night (we won), so my judgement may not be at its best.

maybe you're right about the surging set cleanness but I guess almost everyone does it this way and personally I like how it looks. your definition of clean surging is good so my idea is to name it as a new set: sLurging

I think that footbag in general and more specifically surging isnt about getting the >inbetween the>whatever>or whatever else, as long as it looks good. Its not what you do its how you do it. I also say it doesnt matter what you do as long as you look good doin it. Takumi has style period.
