Here's one I did just now, first take. I'm pleased with how it came across, not too many technical mistakes. not the best singing, but, well... remember who you're dealing with here

imo i liked mario better... but thats coming from someone who loves mario

i like the warm sound of the acoustic... but i think if you recorded your voice and guitar on seperate tracks and looped them together then the singing would sound better with your guitar. youre very talented!!!

I don't do any of that metal superspeed trickery. I'd like to, though! Like, sometimes I'll do a sweep on the F maj7 shape (at various places on the fretboard), or the F# minor 7 shape, sometimes a little diminished shape here and there, but I mostly just use them for jackson pollock-style splashes in my solo, as opposed to a constant flurry of shreddery.

do you know where I could find some videos online to help me learn to do this?

I like the album that intro came from... however mayeb lots of people do it, not sure. Definatly sounded good, i'm glad some notes were "missed" (though I think us jazz cats called them ghosted, which is a good thing ) cause I get all sorts of buz and noize when i try finger style. though my guitar isn't as axelike as yours.

criteeeeeks(as if that wasn't one) uhhh well fingerstyle is the bomb but those power chord voicing over this song just take away so much. Not sure what their is in the line of prettier voicings that low in the register, but do u do any walking bass lines? that might be pretty hip! i was glad to see the picking towards the end, definatly some nice voicings there. interesting to hear some "hendrix" sounding stuff in this tune, kind of a relief from what I study. Also, the one lick at 2:10 was nice, good climax before the texture change. and the triplet feel on the "bridge" or is it b section? whatever, was cool!

thanks for those matt ... the autumn leaves one pleased my ears (although, not quite as much as it did holly's) ... but i thought the hacky one was clever ... i saw that it went for 50 seconds and assumed that was when you dropped the bag ... but boy was i wrong ... nice finish .

from that vid, i went to the chinese 'hacky sack' vid ... i noticed that you commented on the chick in red near the end ... nice datw to inside and outside stalls, tatw, and the datw dexing around the upper leg was very very styley .


to backtrack a little ... i've been listening to your CD again lately and am still enjoying it immensely ... 'contact buzz' and 'young mans blues' are two that have really grown on me of late.
seriously people ... buy this guys CD (they are for sale for a mere $8 on his website) ... it's a bargain!!

nasty, I think using some walking bass skills instead of banging out those basic chords would add a lot to the song. That's definitely going to take some work. thanks for the frank commentary.

thanks nasty totally different style from mine, I really enjoyed it. I definitely think walking bass would sound better under my melodies than those chords. I guess having both would be best.
