what size should we get?
(I'll post more specific details when I know more)

10lbs = 4,356g
if you make all the bags weigh about 55 grams then you can make 85 footbags with a 10 pound bag of tungsten
...if you dont mix it with other lead shot
so if i were to buy, say 2.5lbs (.25 of 10lbs), then i could make about 20 bags with pure tungsten filler.
so i guess my question is, if i pay 25% of "a couple hundred", would that be around $50 to $70?
i might be willing to go in on this. it would be awesome to show up to worlds with 15 or so mini bags filled with tungsten (15 because i would keep some)
keep me updated on how much it would be if i could buy 1/4 of 10lbs, 1/3 of 10 lbs, or 1/2 of 10lbs.
and about size... the higher the number, the smaller the size?? i think maybe size 7?

because i am pretty sure you are confusing it. the bigger the number is the smaller the shot is. i personally think size 9 or 10 is ideal, so I would get as close to that as possible.sanuke okumatzu wrote:Why do you say that? I usually get between 4-6 when I'm buying shot.Nathan wrote:not getting size 8 would be a big mistake.
I'd say it's pretty important to find out which of us is right regarding the sizing. also, i'm not interested is the tungsten- just voicing my opinion. ben i didn't vote.
I get a fair amount of shot when ordering 10lbs. of zinc-plated steel shot. The density for Tungsten is much more than that of steel shot. I don't think it's possible to evenly share with others with Tungsten because of the lesser amount of shot for the added density. I don't know. Unless you specialize in making small bags or bags around the size of abshire a-910 minis, then Tungsten is not for you.
Plus, with the rise of people making larger bags and bags weighing at more than 50 grams, I find the application of Tungsten with this bulk order may be a bit detrimental. That's just my overview on this. If I can see for myself what a pound of Tungsten looks first hand, I can't commit to this deal.
I didn't vote, Ben. Sorry.

i bought 7 pounds for myself. that was smart.
if your going to go about reshipping this shit your just going to add up shipping costs and make tungsten even more expensive than it is now.
7 pounds fills 60 bags. that means 1 pound will fill about 8 or 9 bags. itll be gone pretty fast, especially if you sell.
(im not intersted, just stating)

Wow, sry; reading my last post it seems like I was pissed. I hope it wasn't taken that way. It was just a thought that occured to me, since I had planned on using the poll to count how many people were interested.Nathan wrote: just voicing my opinion. ben i didn't vote.
My bad
I once got a couple pounds of steel and I was like "wtf. there's so much" But I guess the whole reason for getting tungsten is that it's so much heavier and I had forgotten to factor that in...
so, uhh...
Who wants to split this order with me? 5 pounds each
sorry guys, I still don't know how much it's going to cost. I think I'm getting it at a discounted rate (cuz my mom's friend knows the guy he's buying from), so I'm THINKING that it will be a good deal.. We'll have to wait at see what gets worked out though, I suppose.

I can consider five pounds of Tungsten. A pound definitely wasn't enough imho.

change in sales plan
My source told me that he can only get 7 pounds, and it's actually more expensive. It was a poor estimate, sadly
with tax and such included, it will cost
$170.00 for 7 pounds.
Zeb has first dibs because he was the first one to be concrete about an offer, but his plan was to get the 5 pounds.. and price has gone up.
so if he doesn't want in anymore, Johnny's got it... unless he doesn't want in anymore either.
sorry to keep making the deal crappier
But tungsten is tungsten, right?

Ballistics sells 7 pounds for $130 with shipping price of $9.
Its not pure tungsten but its still denser than lead and non toxic.

If Johnny's in, I can consider 3-4 pounds worth of Tungsten.
