Second shred

Post by Zeb Jackson »

this was my second shred of today, there was some okay stuff from it, and it was one of the few sessions ive filmed lately, so i decided to make a video from it. So dont flame me for the lack in length of strings i was already wiped out from my first session which was like 2 hours long or so.

but comments and questions on anything else are welcome :)

size: 19mbs
length: 2 1/2 minutes

Nice blenders and torque. Looks like we're completely at the same level -gunits and all. This includes our rejection of fairy and atomic sets. I'd recommend some barfly...does a body good.

Your whirls look interesting. Sometimes swirly.

And I agree, your avatar doesn't look anything like u!

Your progression on certain elements is ridiculous. smear > dimwalk > blurry whirl was awesome.

A few suggestions from personal experience:
1. Work flip pixie stuff
2. When you do your butterflies, try and be more relaxed. You lift your leg a lot when you really don't have to. Minimal motion is best.
3. Work on all your other sets (atomic, fairy, quantum, etc.). You may not want to, but you don't want to be like me and only start working on them after 2.5 years of playing.
4. Don't worry about 5's yet, work on all your main 3's (DLO, Eggbeater, drifter, etc.) and some 4's (torque, double down, etc.). I wasted so much time working on hard tricks when I was at your level, that I neglected primary elements in my game. I would suggest you choose only one 5 to work on each session for a few minutes and that's it.

If you dial the basic tricks, the 5's and 6's will basically learn themselves.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

I enjoyed it. Though from last night, I was expecting some different music.

Your Whirls do look odd but it's kind of stylie in my opinion. :)

And I agree... you look nothing like your avatar. 8 P

lol thanks ben, I agree with the drifters torques and stuff, before 5's i basically learned blurry whirl and gybas by just doing dynos and pdx whirls so those came failry naturally. Thanks for the advice though, ive just recently started getting back into learning atomic again, and ive been messing around with fairy.

and my avatar...ill look like that again on monday when i get my harcut

Zeb has a new video up and he didn't even tell me about it? Geez.

I recognized you. It looks like you've lost weight since last vid I've seen of you when you had moobs, LOL (maybe you still do).

Props on those double downs, the dexes were really deep, I liked them. Hopefully you'll make a full vid with some more sweet runs some time soon :)

I agree. Seriously. It's so effin cliche. I think footbag videos should be a person's chance to introduce ppl to music they wouldn't normally encounter.

but its a classic XD

EDIT:spelled but wrong some how :?
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

Great stuff! Much props

I used pretty much everything that you hit in this video to challenge myself in today's session. I didn't come close to blurry blender though (prolly a cooler name for that, isn't there?)... my blenders still suck and I haven't even hit pdx blender. Also, my torques are nowhere near as nice as your'se... great stuff. Oh ya, and your spinning ducking butterfly (again.. prolly a nickname, isn't there?) was sick too. I didn't hit that either... I guess, looking back on it, I didn't achieve many of my goals for today's shred session

:P way to go, buddy
keep it up
