i didnt want to start a new thread for this but i got DRILLED by a car on my bike today. it was as much my fault as the drivers, because i was going too fast through an intersection and he did technically have the green light, but he was trying to race through the shit at like 40 miles an hour and we kind of met in the middle. i smashed his side view mirror completely (broken mirror and hanging off by like a thread) and dented the hell out of the front corner of his car. i flew up and onto the other side of the hood and slid off and the dude busts out like WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM type uh shit and im like what do you want me to say.
im pretty much alright, just some scratches on my leg, and my thumbnail for some reason got all fucked up and is turning like purple and grey. it will probably fall off. my front tire is somewhat bent, but i still rode it the rest of the way to school so clearly it isnt too bad. and since i was on a bike and that dude was in a car the cop said basically i wont have to pay shit, which is very lucky for me. the driver was all bitching like what about the damage to the caaaaar. what a bitch. anyway, thats my story for the day...

#2

-16 years old.
-Exchange student for 1 year in Germany (3 months left)
-Played footbag since last June,. I feel if I didn't start playing footbag then, my exchange year would have been ALOT worse.
-3 sisters. 1 younger, 2 older.
-Because of that, I think from early on I was taught to be really different.
-Also, I think that forced me to fall into the habit of willingly teaching myself everything.
-Examples of that, are coming to Germany not knowing more than a few words, and footbag in general.
-Was never overweight. You can still see my ribs and I'm the 'fattest' I've ever been. Yay for German pastries.
-Despite that last comment, I am decently health concious. When I live on my own, and it won't effect people around me I will likely become vegetarian.
-I love meat though. I just think it is better for myself, money wise, and all these things of 'You are suffocating the fish because of the massive amounts of water it takes to produce meat' statements.
-I usually love dogs, but I think my host families dog is possessed. Sometimes it is a lovable smelly thing, and other times it barks jumps yelps and scratches everything in sight. On average, it barks 10 minutes of every hour. Straight. Every time is sees someone on the street, it goes ****ing insane. There are paw marks on every door in the house, around head height, from when it jumps and screams. We have to clean the doors often.
-Did I mention this dog is a menace to society?
-I stitch footbags. I like doing it, I don't sell them because I am deathly afraid that if a knot untied or something, I'd put the buyer through hell.
-I have 14 on my desk at this moment, and two in my pocket from the session I am still sweaty from.
-I like morning showers, my hair goes absolutely crazy if I don't shower in the morning. It is only 1-2 inches long. Weird.
-In winter, or summer, I sweat alot in my sleep. I purposely never sleep with anyone for this fact. I feel very sorry for future girlfriends/wives. I think it is disgusting.
-Morning person. Ever since 'ever' I have woken up between 4:30 - 5:30.
-Don't smoke, wont smoke.
-Drink for fun, but deathly afraid of "the spins", so I always stop early. Then again, I stop at the right time for me, just these crazy Germans look at me funny. DAMN can Germans drink.
-I like Europe alot better than the USA, however since Canada sits in the middle of the two cultures, I think it is perfect. Not to say I don't like the USA, I have family there and visit often, mainly the schooling system that prevents me from wanting to live there.
-Although I can see myself ending up "in der Schweiz" one day.
-Everybody in my German school knows about footbag, and everybody loves Jorden Moir. Mainly because they think we are best friends or something, because he lives in Canada. They don't seem to understand that I've never seen him in my life. It's not because my German is poor either.
-I played rugby last year. I am not sure if I sucked or not, but I had the most fun in my life. The "team" atmosphere was something I had never experienced. I think it should be mandatory.
-I'm comparable to Henry G, I mess around in class and it is boring as ever, but I get quite good grades.
-I think that will lead me to become a software, or mechanical engineer. I like being creative, and making/designing stuff.
-Know Delphi, C#, javascript, and a bit of PHP. (and obviously HTML....)
-English and German. Note, if you are from Canada everyone in Europe assumes you speak decent French. Not the case.
-I know this is to long, but since so many people above have written "I love reading this thread" I figure why not.
-Brought up to save my money, barely buying anything for myself.
-I sit in / watch University lectures frequently. Currently, I am taking a Physics theory course.
-I like Linux.
-Athiest.
-I like concepts of religeon, just not all of them together because "god" told us so. Karma is true.
-Colbert is hilarious. John Stewart just doesn't pull it "off" quite as well.
-my parents are awesome. Also don't remember the last time I ever got in a fight with my sisters. Having a friendly family atmosphere is pleasant.
-Music interests are weird techno stuff for Footbag, and then crap like Genesis, and Matchbox20 for running, Matt Cross or (thats right, Matt Cross) or Jack Johnson for bus rides. Their voices are just perfect for relaxing.
-Like teaching/doing stuff for others, sometimes without any intention of receiving ANYthing back....
-I hope I'm not a pushover.
-I don't have a force in my life that teaches me the lessons that need to be learned. No one to say "That shirt looks like shit", or just point out when I am being an arrogant dick or something.
-The next time I get a girlfriend, I am going to try to make her a very happy person.
-One of my biggest fears is getting dumped by said girl.
-This limits alot of my efforts to find said girl.
-This thought process was probably induced by my sisters always telling me their extremely biased points of view on relationships.
-Middle name is cameron. My entire family addresses me by Cameron instead of Jay. However, all of my friends call me Jay.
-No, that is not confusing for me.
-Yes, my family hates it.
-I win in that matter.
-Perogies are absolutely amazing.

I should also mention I have a severe addiction/fetish/obsession with anything that had a vanilla scent. If I pass a perfume shop, I'll specifically ask for something vanilla, get them to spray a little on a tissue, write down a price, and walk out devouring my face with the delicious odour that so haunts my nasal cavaties. I also spray my footbags and shoes with vanilla. If I have an abundance of it, I also get my bed vanilla'd, so that when I go to bed it is instant euphoria.

Word up Mod. Here I go:

- 21 years of age, brother of 28, sister of 31.
- Parents separated after 30 years of marriage, but still friendly.
- Born and raised on an acreage 20 minutes outside Edmonton. I moved into the city 3 years ago.
- Raised in the united church, until I abstained from religious practice at age 16. I still believe it's the healthiest choice I've ever made.
- When I was 3 or 4, I tried to brush my teeth with my Dad's razor. It's my earliest memory of seeing my own blood...but I don't remember feeling any pain, just puzzlement.
- I was very individualistic, and I'd even say naive throughout elementary and junior high. I didn't have many friends there...I thought I did, but I really didn't at all. When I graduated, I chose Archbishop MacDonald in Edmonton, a school none of my former classmates were going to be attending for high school. I figured a fresh start was in order. It was definitely a good choice.
- From a young age, I had an affinity for memorizing lists and strings of numbers and/or letters. That said, spelling came to me very naturally. When the other school kids were spelling "jump", I was spelling "phosphoglyseraldehyde". I don't really choose to remember numbers, they just stick with me. Red Robin guests are lucky I'm honest, because I could probably memorize 3 or 4 credit cards in one shift. Literally.
- On that note, In grade 12, my math teacher challenged me to learn 100 places of Pi, promising bonus marks if I could pull it off. I came back in 20 minutes to receive my reward, and I can still rattle it off.
- I do my best to use correct grammar and punctuation most of the time...I don't really know why I do, it's just that I always have.
- When I was little, my Dad would always tell me about passion. Passion for sports, for food, for music, whatever, just that it was very important to find your passion. He was #1 in every sport when he was in high school, that's the kind of guy he was. He didn't accept footbag as a legitimate sport/interest until one day when I scripted it to him in terms of my passion for the game...then something seemed to click inside of him. The following Christmas, he completely cleaned out and renovated a room in our basement specifically for footbag practice. I don't think he's ever told me he loves me, but I don't think I can name a moment I've felt more loved.
- I discovered each of my present passions in grade 11: Electronic music and footbag. I really wish I'd found them sooner.
- I write electronic music almost daily...but I haven't actually finished a track for quite some time. It's very frustrating and defeating to admit that. Sounds good, but is never complete.
- Some of my most vivid memories are at clubs/parties. Music gives me such a natural high, I can dance all I want all night long without the help of anything else. When the bar's lights come on, and the DJ is finishing up his/her encore track...damn, that's a good feeling.
- I try to be as candid with strangers as I am with close friends. I'm not tactless, I'll recognise when I shouldn't be so brutally honest...but if I can be, you can bet that I'm going to be.
- I work full time at Red Robin bartending/serving, and part time at Moxie's only serving. I average about 55 hours a week...it's tough but necessary to save up for school. I'm aspiring to attend UBC for music composition, with the hope of eventually composing scores for film, tv, and/or videogames.
- When customers are jerks to me at work, I'm usually a jerk right back. It's pretty much the only way I can maintain my sanity/self-respect. It's not like I pride myself on being unreasonably rude, I usually give a pretty appropriately honest response. ...but seriously, "Oh no, I offended them. They may never come back." :?
- I've been considering getting a piercing for quite some time, and I suspect I'll get it after worlds so that it does not interfere with my practising. Most likely a frenum or two...though I'm not sure that's a good region to get a "first piercing" done.
- I'm an extremely sensual/sexual person, and the piercing above would fit into my personality quite naturally. It's not that I'm so into my own manhood, but rather just my innate sensuality.
- I shave my face daily and everything else weekly.
- BT/Brian Transeau is pretty much my biggest inspiration in life, both musically and philosophically.
- No matter how awful my day was...listening once through "My Religion" by Pulser will make it all better.
- I tend to use friendship as a means to sex. It's not like it's some evil trickery, but rather just a result of my open mind. I'll take love OR sex, but the latter definitely doesn't require the former. Generally, I enjoy a woman and let things take their course.
- Sidenote: I'd had over a dozen sexual partners before I officially lost my virginity. I'd decided to myself a long, long time ago that I was going to at least gain my independence first...then if something went wrong, I'd have the means to back it up.
- I've got a weak spot for short girls with glasses. I don't really know why, I'm just relaying self-observation here...
- I drink little, often. I probably average 6 drinks a week, maybe 7. Once a day at most, mainly because I enjoy the taste. I don't really rock the drunkenness.
- I've never done drugs. It's not for any specific reason, I've just never really had the need. I'm certain I will at least try marijuana eventually, and I'm also certain the decision will be entirely spontaneous.
- There's a good chance I would beat you in a game of Scrabble.
- If I've worn a pair of socks, I cannot wear those socks again until they have been washed. Timeframe does not matter. As a result of this quirk, I own a good 35 pairs of socks.
- I'm religiously frugal, and I pride myself on bargain shopping. Practically every piece of clothing I own was purchased for 30-40% of what I would've paid regularly.
- I don't do well with horror movies. I've got this tendency to stay up until I'm so fatigued that I have no CHOICE but to sleep...and the more tired I get, the more paranoid I get. Horror flicks only serve as fuel for my paranoia. For real, I kept imagining the Grudge chick for a good month after seeing the movie.
- I strongly dislike evangelism, hypocrisy, duplicity, and the word "swab".

Yeah, that's pretty much everything that came to mind. Maybe I'll add more if I think of anything.

Yeah, that reminded me of the episode of the Simpsons where Bart joins the boyscouts. He initially wants to quit, but he also wants to get the scout pocket knife. They give him an informational booklet called "Don't do what Donny Dont Does." It has 10 acceptable uses for knives, and 90 unacceptable uses for knives, which include firing it from a slingshot, stalking your pets, and.... you guessed it: brushing your teeth!

Yeah, it's actually one of my earliest memories PERIOD. It's also funny, because at that age, I was unable to see the mirrror over the counter. In order to see what I was doing while "brushing", I had to climb up on to the toilet, and then on to the counter....so I had a pretty close up view of the consequences.

That episode is so good! I saw it like a couple of days ago.

I got a pocket knife from my father when I was 10. With my name on it and everything.
Never became a boyscout though. I am absolutely sure him and my mom had fights about this.

Asmus - The nude terrorist.

Post by Asmus »

Okay my other entry in this thread was boring as hell so here is the interesting stories.

When I was 6 or 7 me and one guy played tarzan in this after-school-kindergarden-thing (dunno what its called).
We where jumping around in underpants because we where tarzan and the weather was great.
My mom had just told me what a nudist. So I wanted to try it. Got butt naked and some of the other kids saw me. They thought it was fun and started throwing around my clothes. In the beginning it was fun but then it got cold. So I had to go inside and ask one of the adults to help me get my clothers again. Her only comment was "Kids! Haven't they never seen a penis or what?" and then she gave me my clothes.

A couple of years ago two men knocked on my door. They where wearing suits and looked very serious. They told me that they where from the police and was supposed to have a little chat with me.
I got dead scared thought it was about mp3s.
They asked me if I knew what it was all about and I said No!
And they where like off course you do, just tell us everything.
I just kept on telling them I knew nothing.
So they took me to the policestation and asked me aloooooot of questions and finally told me that it was because somebody had sent bombthreats from my login on the schoolsystem. The bombthreats where sent to 3 various policestation and all said that a bomb would explode under the royal wedding. (Danish prince and australian girl, big media thing)
I told them I had nothing to do with it.
Next day in school this kid finally said it was him and it showed that I had just logged in after him and the delay on the emails made the timing go wrong.
That kid got beat up so bad because he tried to make it look like it was me.
It was first when alot of people put pressure on him and said I was getting in trouble if he didnt tell that he confessed.
I sometime run into him, its not more than a couple of months since we got into a fight last time. He is a dickhead.

It would be great to shred with the MT crew! Maybe at worlds?
