Global Degradation

So, I know there are many people on this forum that feel strongly about the environment (discussion thread).

I have to write a paper in my History of World Civilizations class, and I'm looking for resources on Global Environmental Degradation. They can be books, news articles, websites, reports, graphs... basically anything that is credible.

I'm going to the public library this weekend to work some things out. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

PS. I'm not asking anyone to write my paper for me. All I'm asking for are resources.

Hmm, do you think that Overpopulation would be related to your topic? I feel that it does in a way but I'm not sure if it's a big enough contribution to Global Degredation to include in your paper.

If it is though I recommend the book "The Population Explosion". I forget who the author was but the cover has a crowd of people on it. Same with the back cover.

environmental is the key word, naturally population has something to do with the amount of pollution, but the environment isnt degrading because there are more people... its degrading because there arer more people that pollute

If you're still writing this paper, definitely pick up Jared Diamond's Collapse. Its ALL about environmental degradation and how it has lead to the downfall of every great civilization that wasn't destroyed by colonization. Makes some convincing arguments that the same could be in store for our civilization.
