damn! 4 bags for prizes already and it's only been a day since I posted about it! if this keeps up, we might have to offer prizes for best hair or something... hardest partier maybe. I hope pat tallon can make it, because he would really be in the running for that prize.

Matt,

Thank you for the hotel post. People, the prices might be lower but the standards are high. This is Rochester, home of Kodak, RIT, and GRASS. You pay a little but you get a lot.

Hope to see many of you at the event.

Let it be noted that the Radisson Inn on Campus hotel on Jefferson Rd is the closest to the site. I'm not sure how partying there will be, though.

seems we have no crash space. now, what about party spots? I can't offer anything as I no longer live in Rochester.

To reiterate, since the crash space question has been raised repeatedly, everyone will have to get a hotel room. Here is your best option, since it is a very convenient location and it will be only 20 bucks a night if you get 4 people:

It's looking like we won't have an official party spot, but I am sure that some individuals with hotel rooms won't mind the company. However, we are in the process of securing a late night place to shred, which will be most preferable to many of our guests.

I am really excited so im going to try very hard to make this event. Josh said he is probably going and I'm pretty sure pat is a no because he has baseball all weekend every weekend basically, unless there is some kind of miracle.

I may bring some other friends along though, maybe I can get the 3 shredita's im training to come out with me, and my girlfriend wants to learn how to stitch, so I'm hoping maybe aidan or some other friendly people will help her out, she doesn't watch or know much about footbag other than what I tell her. So this would be a new experience for her.

We should all like stay at the same hotel then we can just room jump it and be cool, possibly talk to the hotel about it ahead of time just so they may be a little less strict about a bunch of half naked stinky ass footbaggers getting drunk and what not.

The great tournaments I've been to in the past few years have had (in order of importance, in my opinion):

2. a hotel where most people are staying. I have suggested the hotel on Jefferson because of proximity, and Aidan has given it her thumbs up. I hope people will use that hotel.

3. a party spot outside of the hotel for at least one night. being that only one major RFA member has a house in Rochester, his would make sense, but if that house is unavailable for any reason, maybe Paul could look into getting some inexpensive warehouse space for saturday night shred and party. Include warehouse space rental in the tournament / venue fee. I'll chip in.

4. Prizes - all set there. also consider contacting freedom and red bull / rock star / etc. I've personally PMed more stitchers, also.

5. a sweet shirt with a sweet logo. If you need help designing the logo, Mike Faille of toronto might be able to help out. his modified name is BuckRuckus, or Buck Ruckus, I'm not sure which. he is incredible, and I bet he'd be willing to help. Get an idea or two together and talk to him, or anyone else for that matter. Shirts are not of ultimate importance, but it's nice to have one after the tournament as a keepsake. H2B press has been our printer for the past 3 tournaments. they are quick, and they have good prices, and they're my friends.

If there's anything I can do to help the tournament, please let me know. i am no longer a rochester resident, so I cannot take the helm on this one. This tournament will not go as well as it can unless someone steps up to be "Mr. GRASS" this year. Paul, it's at your school, there's not TOO much work left to do, and I'll give you all the help I can. Are you ready to have your name attached to an awesome tournament? I did it one year, Aric did it the next, looks like it's your turn now. I hope you'll do it.

I think that what matt just posted there is really important.

RFA needs an alpha to step up, it seems like matt is doing the most even though technically it isn't his job to do so.

I really hope I can make it to this. It's during an insane busy period where I have to move my entire life and celebrate pengs birth. I will see what can be done.

I do agree that the RFA needs an alpha to step up, but I'm not doing the most. Paul and Mike secured the venue and contacted the juggling people. I just sent out some PMs and I'll be stitching a bag.

The RFA is the shit, and they all want to do their part for footbag, I just think that one of them needs to decide, "okay, I'm going to be the one that make sure shit gets done for this tournament". Someone besides me needs to understand that THEY are the decision MAKER, not the decision follower, and that they have the final word on this tournament. And I say, "they", but it's really only one of two hometown guys, and one of them is getting married and has a full time job, so when I say "THEY", I actually mean "Paul".

I REALLY don't mean to single you out, or try to whip you into action, buddy. You're just the one that happens to make sense for this, and if you do this well (which you can, and without killing your schedule over it, if you just send a few e-mails and make a few decisive posts) you'll earn LOTS of scene cred for putting on a good tournament.

I know you can do it. and, as I said, I will help however you want (I've already tried to cover the prizes, and with the 12 or so bags that have been volunteered in the last DAY, I think I've done all right on that), but I can NOT be the tournament director for this event...

and if there is no tournament director, there is no tournament, just a bunch of half naked, sweaty guys standing around asking everyone else what's going on and getting wasted alone in their hotel rooms after kicking is over, which is lame.

judges need to be decided (I volunteer), adds need to be counted (although, I kinda hope that Circle comp pushes shred 30 out this year, because shred is a pain), schedules need to be made, a sound system needs to be secured, party arrangements need to be made (or else the nights for this event are definitely going to be [for lack of a better word] lame).

I will do WHATEVER I can. I can even put up all the money for the shirts this year if you guys have financial constraints, although I'm going to require that all purchase decisions are approved by me before my money is committed (we don't need a pile of shirts on hand after the event like at YEAH. It's better to have limited shirts than extra shirts). I can provide a PA system for us to have sound, although those that were at the NYJ two years ago know that it's not the crispest sounding system.

So, let me know what I can do, and let me know who's the man at this tournament. Paul, I really hope it's you this time around.
