Brockut Vs Without
Brockut Vs Without
I personally learned to clipper with a brockut and felt it helped me to learn
Now, I don't need it on any of my shoes
Lots of people start without it, and then later do it to find it does nothing for them.
I think a brockut is great for learning.
Thoughts on this mod?

this wont apply to most people, but if you dont wear insoles, or you put in insoles that are thinner than the stock ones, it lowers you in the shoe making crank more difficult, in turn making a brocka more necessary.
i dunno about you guys but the brocka is NEVER the first part of the shoe to fall apart for me, on the 5 pairs of lavers i've owned so far. its all about resealing your cuts with stitching and/or shoe goo to avoid fraying.
oh, i just figured out the dude said it ruins the LOOK of the shoe. yeah, you could say that.

Personally, the way I went was not doing the brockamod for a long time, and developing a decent clipper set, and then a while later (8 months or so) did the mod, and now my clippers are noticably more reliable.
I think it is kinda like a trend I see with people starting with Lavers, in which the clipper surface is good, and then when more experienced getting Gunits, and then having a clipper surface that is alot better.

There shouldn't be any mods done to the shoe except for the canivs/leather/clima mod,toe box mod, and the lace mod. Everthing else is just training wheels that arent needed.

I originally didnt do this. Then I tried it when I got a new pair of shoes. I thought it was awesome. It was easier to clipper. but then i switched to G-units
In units I didnt need a brocka so I just didnt do it.
switched back to lavers and never did the brocka again. I feel like it can help to learn but you shouldnt really need it. I mean look at how many players dont use it. and look at how many havent. All the best players before the brocka mod was invented just did it the old way.
Plus I feel like the shoe is a lot looser after you do it. Not enough support.

Some people need it some people don't. It depends on your anatomy and how you are shaped relative to the shoe.
The cuff completely restricts my ankle movement, with the mod I have full glorious swing of my crank. It is not a cheating thing or a crutch thing, it's a matter of making the equipment fit your body best.
It's not even something that needs to be discussed. If the shoe restricts you, fix it, if it doesn't then leave it.
There is NO single solid rule that covers everyone and I think trying to imply or impose that is stupid.
