RIT Spring Juggle In / GRASS

I can put up the money for the t-shirts as well as place the order with HTB press. All I will need is a logo, and perhaps sponsor logos as well, and decision on shirt color to be made. I live two minutes from HTB Press' new location and worked with them for YEAH - hopefully they will remember me. They certainly remembered the terms footbag and RFA.

As for the alpha man, I would love to be it but simply cannot commit. As I may have stated earlier, there is somewhat of a crisis in my family that is taking much of my weekend time, and mental focus in general, away from me. I am not complaining - my family is worth any sacrifice. In addition to this, I have previously commited to two events that happen to occur during GRASS weekend, one being on Friday night and the other Saturday afternoon, and both involving money spent and money gained. I will do everything I can to be at this event every free moment I have, which I assume will be Saturday night only. Looks like I am going to have to cram a weekend of shred into just a few hours, but it certainly would not be the first time.

Paul, I have not yet contacted any sponsors and I am sorry for this. Would you still like me to attempt this or have you found someone else more to get this done?

Paul, would you mind updating your very first post and add the GRASS schedule of events to the top of the post.

Perhaps something like this (EXAMPLE ONLY):

Friday, April 27. 2007
6:00pm - 10:30pm: Open Shred

Saturday, April 28, 2007
10:00am - 1:00pm: Open Shred
1:00pm - 3:00pm: Competitions (Circle, Sick 3, TEN, Weird 1)
3:00pm - 5:00pm: Open Shred
7:00pm - ?: Juggling Show in Ingle Auditorium

Sunday, April 29, 2007
10:00am - 2:30pm: Open Shred, Competition Results, Prizes

I based this example schedule around the juggling schedule listed at http://www.rit.edu/~jugwww/Events/2007jugin.html . Looks like Saturday from 1pm to 3pm is the largest open window in the juggling schedule. This seems like a good time for our competitions. Also, we could have open shred before 6pm on Friday somewhere on campus. You know the land better than I do.

Alright, I know I've made the suggestion that I might not show at this tourney, but I'm going to try my freakin' best to get up to Rochester. GRASS '06 was phat. The hype I'm feeling from this topic makes me feel that this year's GRASS is going to better!

Along with my prize bag, I may bring 2-3 more 32s. If I can't make it, I'll just send them all to Chris Dean.

aside from late night shred location and t-shirt design. all the info you have asked about is in the first post, including competition time and everything else.

a 100% definitive schedule will be in the first post after my meeting with the juggling club and jeff peden tonight.

despite what you may think, a lot of work has gone into this so far and because no one stepped up for the juggling club this year, i have had to take a lot of the responsibility on my shoulders for that too, including sponsorships, t-shirts, flyering, advertising, and general running around to help relieve some of the stress from Jeff.

yes this is GRASS and yes it will be sick, but it was the Juggle in 27 years earlier and if the juggle in doesnt run smoothly, than GRASS is hopeless.

all i ask is for some patience, and to stop making assumptions about what has and hasn't been done since you dont know for sure.

BIG IMPORTANT POST RIGHT HERE!

I just spoke to Paul Agostinelli and he truely is the alpha male for this event. There are a lot of worrisome posts in this thread and I am here to rid you of your concerns. GRASS 2007 IS HAPPENING. Paul has everything under control. He will be making a post later tonight with a complete schedule of events.

If you need something to do, I suggest you find lodging for the nights of Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.

what are the thoughts on the party spot? not just late night shred... actual beer drinking and chillout while sitting on couches and watching shred videos spot?

Hey all,

I'm glad things are coming together. I never doubted for a second.

Anyways, I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I know that I cherish every opportunity to get out and try routines in front of an audience. I know nobody wants to run it and nobody wants to judge, but I think a few of us would appreciate the venue even if only for a demo run of our routines. I guess if Dave and Jorden don't agree, then the point is moot.

Also @ Chris Dean, I may have left a few items at your gf's house on New Year's. Green "old school" hummel t-shirt and a pair or two of shorts hummel/adidas. If not, no worries.

I'll judge routines if some of the best shredders on the planet want to do their thing. It would be a treat. Paul, is it possible to ask your contact if one of us could get a short act in the juggling show? maybe dave? I know he has a presentation prepared that he did recently that won him a pile of money, maybe he could do that. Also, is it possible to secure the better routine space that we had at GRASS 1?

asking to put another routine in a packed show might be a resounding no, but i will ask.

bevier, the reason we arent having routines this year is only because of time constraints, not for lack of judges or people willing to run the competition.

circle competition in my experiences has been less time consuming and laborious for everyone involved, and it is just awesome!

as for routine showcasing, we should be able to have a few exhibition routines to show off to the crowd before circle competition finals

i have the space for circle comp finals that matt referred to as "the better, grass 1 space" we'll have PA time and will be the highlighted event at that time, so im sure we can work in some routines by flash, dave, and jorden.

OH yeah i forgot to mention, that space from GRASS 1 is the footbag space for the whole event, we'll just be doing some of the other competition in the back room so as not to clash with the juggling workshops

Things have been largely under control this entire time. all the vital info was included in the original post, including lodging info from the Juggle-in page. there are still a few loose ends, but visitors have the details they need to make it out here, plus plenty of motivation thanks to all the footbag donations.

As for after-hours plans, don't forget about the juggling show. There is a world-class juggling convention going on. And we'll be able to secure a playing spot on campus throughout the night, if not a rockin' party that lives up to the tournament's name.

there is now a .org event listing for GRASS. I am in a gigantic hurry and it still needs some formatting, but it's there. I'll tune it when I have the time.

This thread is still a more valuable resource to everyone.

Hey guys,
I went to book a hotel room tonight at the Raddison and the lady didn't see anything for RIT, she asked for a promotional code or if it was listed under something else. The price she quoted me was $109 and I was wondering what everyone else did that booked a room. Thank you!!
