Nashville Footbag Jam

Only vote if you're interested in coming.

So Brian, Elliott, and I are trying to plan out a footbag jam here in Nashville. We want to have it at Centennial Park in Nashville. I think since it's a jam we should just have it on one day... but if anyone wants to stick around for 2 days, that's completely fine with me. There is plenty of room for net and freestyle... and a lot of shops and retaurants in walking distance.

If anyone wants to hang out a second day, and would like a place for the night... Brian and I have an extra bed and futon couch.

well considering that this will be a local thing i don't see the point in setting the date 6 weeks away. there's not really much planning to this... all we do is set up a date, locale, & time. then, we spread the word & kick. simple.

i think we should hold it at Centennial Park on a Saturday afternoon because there's always some event going on, plenty of foot traffic, & out-of-towners sight-seeing at the Parthenon. plus we'd be able to set up for some net at the park. i think it would be worthwhile to do this sort of thing on a monthly basis to promote footbag here in nashville and keep it in the publics eye instead of practicing in our basements.

especially a monthly thing.
i'm not too worried on a date or anything.
i can keep any weekend open.

nice session the other day fellas. it was my first time shredding in awhile and i'm happy to report i can still pixie, although my fairy & atomic sets have vanished. i'd like to trademark my shred slogan "still tiltless, never guiltless" i'd really prefer to focus on foot juggling, innovative kicking mid-string, & bringing flyers back to freestyle - long live derrick "funky chicken" fogle! thanks to everybody that could attend our little session.

however there still remains work to be done is organizing our box social of a footbag jam. i can sense that many of my old comrades don't check the foums anymore or their e-mails for that matter; so let me say this, i don't care if you're in still grade school, college, working-full time, or even raising a family now... we all have to make time for the things we love & you know where to find us. besides, how old is too old for footbag?

i know some people have finals coming up in the next couple weeks so let's just go ahead and set this thing up for may 19th. other thoughts on the idea, perhaps some sort of rotating schedule so different people can host a jam every month like nashville - may, chattanooga - june, huntsville - july, atlanta - august. we can discuss it later but i think it's a good idea in terms of promoting footbag in the southeast.

im gonna be coming back from south carolina at like 3am on the 19th. my twin is graduating bootcamp. i think around noon should be good?
