Can swirling get paradox?

i.e. far twirl/swivel, ducking twirls, far revup, etc

I was always under the impression that they did not. I don't feel any of the 'hip-pivot' paradox feel whenever I do Far Rev. Swirls, which just concluded my own suspicion.

I was under the impression that reverse swirls (rev up / twirls etc.) did and that normal ones did not.

Not at all sure though.

Swirling can get paradox add as long as it ends with a different component than the swirl, much like how swirl gets its symposium add also.
Such as pdx swirling toe or pdx twirl/swivel etc

hm i always thought something similar to that, but more to the effect that it had to have another dex after it to receive a pdx. however it does make some sense, if you land the bag on the same leg that does the dex it can only be symple but if the bag lands on the non swirling leg than i dont see why it cant be a true symp swirl. i guess the discussion is more about paradox...i know pdx twirl is a true pdx so clearly swirls can get a pdx, but i dont know the rule about it. im sure it has something to do with dexes or stalls after the swirl (haha most obvious statement of the year...)

I've never heard of far twirl getting a pdx add before. As far as I know swirl dexes don't ever receive pdx adds.

I've never heard of far swirls getting paradox either. which isn't to say that they're not harder, or they don't "feel" pdx. oh, that poor flawed add system. yay circle competition.

It would make sense to me that a far swirl dex to op component would get a pdx add.

ie clip set far swirling toe. If spinning far side dex to op component gets pdx, it would be consistent for the same to apply with swirl dexes.

I would presume that the reason people haven't really heard of swirling moves getting pdx is because they're very uncommon. How many times as anybody seen far swirling toe?

IMO far swirls should get pdx add (symp or nonsymp swirling monsters shouldt) :P

nope

clipper set far blender=pdx blender

ingyro swirl=inspinning near swirl

Two totally different tricks, with totally different feels to them. One I would say is a lot harder to do (cleanly) than the other, and that's ingyro swirl. That's also the trick worth less adds, ingyro swirl is 4 add while pdx blender is a 5. Even if everyone decided to change the rules of pdx and award far swirl dexes a pdx add, this would still be the case. The add system is antiquated and doesn't really represent the freestyle tricks of today.

I agree with what you say on the different feel of the two moves Eric, they are definitely not executed the same. With that said, they are in fact the same move in the overall picture is what I was trying to say. They differ only in style such as crispy/original. Same dex, same spin, same delay.

Paradox Blender is executed dex then gyro
Ingyro swirl is executed gyro then dex

Wait, what does paradox mean again? :? :D

And what about Swirls as a set... like is it Swirling Pdx Mirage, or Swirling Far Mirage... cuz if you do a Swirl then that is like a Regular Pdx Mirage with an extra dex... and it still has the double hip pivot... so??

Yes, there's a pdx add in that case, but it's the mirage dex that gets the pdx, not the swirl dex.

paradox may or may not apply, but "awesome" ABSOLUTELY applies.

DOWN WITH ADDS!!! UP WITH AWESOME!!

just do what is awesome, I say...

spinning symp revup, so styley...

edit: I'm sorry I'm ruining this thread with all my unproductive posts... if GEaH legitimately has pdx acknowledged on the swirl, then so would these moves you've mentioned.

I concur. I've effectively forgotten about adds most of the time. I know when something is harder; I don't have to give it a special name or more points. Maybe a name would be good for description. But it's already called far swirl so, it's dripping in gravy.
