Help me (no video).

Oh my gosh. I hate editing so far. I don't know why my videos aren't being captured right. The playback is so horrible I can barely edit anything, and if I do actually edit and post the video, no one would want to watch, because it skips so much it looks like I am faking my video and trying to add clips to make it look like I hit a trick or something. It is making me so mad, cuz I want to post my video. Does anyone know what's wrong? Is it my $20 dollar firewire card? Is it the editing software? I have been using the one I got with my card (Ulead Video Studio) or Window Movie Maker. Should I go buy a nice editing program? Somebody help me.

Well if you are using WMM, just make sure you are capturing at a higher quality. There should be an option somewhere saying at what compression you are capturing at. Choose something like 2mb for local playback or just go for DV quality

Yeah, always try to edit in the highest quality. There should be a setting for DV quality playback or something like that. The clips that you edit will look small on your monitor, I don't know if there's a setting that changes that. Anyway, when you're finished and go to 'make movie', try to select an option that allows for between 1.5mbs-2.0mbs download. That will determine the quality of the movie, as well as keep it at a reasonable size. It shouldn't be the equipment you're using. Hope this helps. Can't wait to see some Chrissy footy!

At the end of this video, it skips around like I am talking about.

I did this video with the best quality (recommended) option. I've also done high quality (large). I will try the 2mb local next.

I don't think I need RAM. I got like 60-some percent of unused memory.

Cute video, but it looks like you are dropping mad frames! Check this site out. It's has good information on finding a solution to your problem. It might unnecessary programs running draining on your memory, it could be your program or it even could be trying to capture and compress your video at the same time which taxes your computer.

I'm sure that page will lead you to the answer. Now, I just need to find a copy of halo 2

I still don't know exactly what's wrong (I think it's my 20 dollar firewire card), but I decided to finish the video no matter how bad it looked. It actually turned out watchable. Check out the videos section.
