Help me pick my new toy

Post by Caleb »

So, I'm going back to my internship soon. I'll be bringing home the bacon again. I'm also about to sell some of my more valuable sports cards that I just don't have room to store anymore from when I was like 10 years old. So what should my new toy be?

I would name him Preston.

I have played all of the used guitars briefly and they are all in great condition. And the corgi puppy........I mean come on. He's just the cutest thing on Earth right now. I've wanted one forever.

I choose the dog or the PRS. I've owned a Les Paul, too heavy (although, that's a lite). I've owned an SG, but nothing like that one. Frankly, I'm not into the vibe of recent gibsons, especially non-high end models. That PRS has some personality, and I love PRS. They're so hot.

The dog is a whole other thing... corgis are beautiful, and dogs can be wonderful if you've got the time for it. The good thing about a guitar is that you can give it exactly how much time you want, but a dog is an all-the-time thing. Both are chick magnets, i guess it just depends which you can work better ;) I can work the guitar way better than a dog, which is why I lean that way...

get the PRS. or, get a mid range strat and a GOOD amp. none of those guitars will be great sounding without a decent amp.

Go with the dog.

Because the guitar won't like peanut butter off your balls.

I voted for the PRS. That guitar looks dead sexy. The other two look a bit more flashy, but the PRS looks sexy. And I don't care which one's technically better, I just like the wood grain in red, and the whole thing... Looks very nice.

And I'm a cat person. :) So I couldn't vote for the dog, even though he is cute. (Doesn't look like Preston though, IMO.)

As for the guy who said something to the extent of a dog licking penut butter... off your ball sack... Wow... No. I would never let anything with teeth(except for a woman of course) near my cash and prizes let alone lick them... Ever.

Ever.

Nate, I just realized your avatar is from that N game. Haha. That game is amazing. I couldn't beat it. I had like 6 levels to go and my computer deleted the cookies automatically that saved my progress. You're the man though.

That dog is sick
The PRS looks very nice with the ash woodgrain, very stylish.
The Gibsons are both very nice, the SG has a better colour and shape to it, the Les Paul is a classic, probably plays and sounds better and comes with a case. You say all the guitars are used so keep that in mind when making the purchase. Spend the money wisely and if you do plan on buying one of the guitars just on a whim Id say purchase the Les Paul as it will likely have the highest resale value.

Buy both, and then teach the dog to play guitar. It would be a master at fingerpicking.

Or do like above ^ and kidnap the dog. But still teach it to play guitar.

Buy a chapman stick instead. They are way cool

I changed my mind. Get the dog dude. After listening to my friend obsess over Zepplin and Hendrix... Well, I've really grown sick of his guitar playing. So my opinion has changed.

Get that dog man. The guitar will still be a guitar when you go get it later, that puppy will only be a cute puppy for a year.

I still would not name him Preston though... I'd name him Twat-Waffle... But not really. Though I've always wanted a dog named Twat-Waffle...

Haha, I bought the Les Paul. Sorry all. The PRS was already sold and my roommate didn't want me to get the dog. I know I'd be pissed if the tables were turned and he went and bought one anyway.

If it helps, I definitely thrashed some "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnson the moment I came home with it.
