Hey FATheads! I uploaded the FAT site work-in-progress temporarily to my personal site. (I will purchase torontofootbag soon) Check it out here:

http://www.mikefaille.com/FAThome

Please let me know how it displays on your computers. I'd also love some help with content. Some things I'd like:

-Good TTC directions to the various shred spots on the 'spots' page. Maybe you could hook us up, Adam?
-Any good links I'm missing. Particuliarly Canadian sites.
-History/Origins of FAT. I think you're the best candidate for this, Camille.
-A good basic explainer for the 'footbag?' page. Josh?
-Any footbag picutres you guys have. I think we need to start documenting sessions every once in a while.
-Start thinking about what info you'd like to see on a player profile page. I think I'll take pictures of all our faces then draw them in the 'green line style' to match the site!
-Some reviews of the promos and events you've done Adam?
-Anything else the site needs?!

Love it. Easy on the eyes, sharp artwork, cute link images (scales are for fat people, I get it!). I even love the orange links with the green on white.

One thing I'll mention though. The right border for the links is too straight, and stands out to me against the freehand look of the rest. I also think it'd look better without connecting to the title image. Maybe a solid top border for the links?

Looks great.

I love the, not childish, but not professional, I guess the right word would be "fun" layout/graphics.

The only other section I could see adding is pictures, because I read in Lackey's post that one of your members is always snapping shots here or there.

Displayed just fine on my monitor. No content to scroll though, which of course I have become addicted to.

Cool :D
I really dig the drawing of Adam -- it would be cool to have photos too, though. (I also really like his super power).

Umm, it would be rad if you could somehow have the google maps embedded into the site and NOT a link to google maps. Well, that's what I think anyway. Surely there's a way to do this.

For Canadian links, I have them organized by continent/country (I forget?) in the Hackrifice links -- check them out. There's a cool ShrEdmonton site. Allan used to have a site. There's the kind of lame Footbag Canada..Montreal crew has a really old site somewhere...

Awesome stuff so far.
Well-shot photos of shred spots would be cooool to put beside maps, and stuff. A cool idea for session write-ups would be to have like a little thumbnail copy of the shred-spot photo...you know? Oops (Sam C., Chris P, Eric W, Bryan F.) used to do write-ups for every session and have pictures of the location -- it was cool. And there would be a "highlights" thingy for what everyone hit....REALLY fun stuff to read!! I kind of stole Sam's style for the way that I wrote-up events for the Hackrifice site.

There should, like, be a team photo of everyone in their FAT shirts!

Wicked.

I am really, really excited about this website. Again, Mike, you the man.

The only issue so far is that there's no scrollbar, so I have to click and drag to see the bottom of the screens. My mousewheel doesn't do it either.

Other than that, amazing!

Mike, you should send me your e-mail address; I have some pictures you might like.

Edit: Oh! Adam, you should change the topic line of the blog to include the website! And we should have the picture from pg 65 up there!

Ok Josh. What size is your monitor? What resolution? And about how much of the bottom gets cut off?

Hey FAT. I'm still here in TO visiting friends. I'm at Shiridan College rite now, finally found a comp so I could post this.
So, I was glad to meet new people. Not just ordinary people but, poeple who enjoy footbag, a rare physically engaging art form that atracts a small select group in some cities around the globe. Allowing them to express themselves in whatever way that feels good to them. Mike, the music you brought was AWSOME, I like Daft Punk and would prefer to listen to it over anything else when shredding. You should consider their album "Discovery" and their newest album "Human After All". Mind-blowingly good shred beats!! Erik, all I can say is, the way you express yourself when shredding is very unique and all your own! Hope to shred with you again when I level up a bit. Josh, you made it! Thanks. Next time I come to shred with you I'll remember my real footbag shoes  and we'll rip it up. Adam your really good at helping me with my form on certain tricks and I appreciate it. I would have wanted to go out and eat with y'all after but I felt down and out because of my ankle :(. It's pretty bad, unfortunately. May be two weeks-ish till I can clipper again.
Thanks guys, I had fun!!

Thanks for the kind words, John. Hope your ankle gets well soon. I feel your pain -really! I'm recovering from a bad sprain myself.

Thanks Andrew. Glad you like it so far. If you and Josh are only having problems viewing the profile page then thats good. Meaning I wont have to shrink the main boxes. Pages with lots of content (like the profiles) will be really deep, and will include scrollbars.

Sweet shit Mike. I'll write my profile before I leave for planting and hopefully will have some history and event info to provide as well.

And I'm stealing that mock-profile!!!

Wait, I had trouble viewing the mock-up profile thingy too, and it wouldn't scroll -- had to do the same as Josh and select-pull.

It looks effin' awesome Mike! We're so lucky that we have someone so talented hanging around who is willing to help make the club/sport look so cool.

I'm back next week! Can't wait for shredding! See you guys soon.

-Made a few changes to the profiles pages.
-Added drawing of Alex and Camille.
-Did some other crap no one will notice.

Can you guys check your name spelling on the f.a.t. page? Also, if anyone doesn't want their full name on the internet let me know. Please tell me if I'm forgetting anyone, or if your name is in the wrong spot. Erik- I put your name under 'FAT friends' - even though you're a full-fledged member as far as I'm concerned  . I also don't know all the O.G. FAT members, so if anyone could fill in any missing names.

Anyone who wants a profile start thinking of your stats! And more importantly, start writting a short blurb about yourself and footbag! Oh! And maybe give me the date you started kicking and the date you bought your first pair of footbag shoes!

Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks Sam! SHITE! I forgot to put you in the FAT list. I'll add you when I get a chance!

Amazing. Freakin Amazing! Mike, you rule. I'm so sorry that I couldn't help out yet. But it doesn't look like you really needed me anyway! You rock! Thank you so so so so so much.

Ok I am in my final crunching moments... 2 essays due tomorrow, 2 projects due Friday... and then lots shit for next week, but I'll talk to you guys on Friday: It's 420 and there are festivities at Yonge & Dundas Sq.!!!

http://www.cannabisculture.com/forums/s ... o=&fpart=1

Who is coming?! We must play there!

And then we gotta design & order new business cards with the new site ASAP to get them in time for WEEEEED MARRRRRRCH MAY 5th!!!

Mike I have a few comments about the site... little things really... I'd rather just discuss it in person. I know you're working Friday so you probably won't make it to the Y & D Sq. thing, but perhaps we can meet Saturday? Oh yeah, Andrew's birthday is on Monday I think he'll be having something to celebrate on Saturday...or maybe next weekend... You guys should come. :) We'll keep you updated.

Final thing: I lost my cell phone!! :( You can still leave me voice messages and I'll get back to you, but I have lost all my numbers... pm them to me if you can. Thanks.

See you soon! Miss you all! :(

Actually, I have Friday off!!!!!! Was gonna play with Adam there anyway! I'd also love to shred Saturay though! And if Andrew is having a bday thing I'll try and make that too!

There is still so much to do for the site, Camille. If you want to handle certain parts of it I'm cool with that.

that's a great drawing of Camille as well, too cute! [/smitten]

Made a few more updates to the site. I wrote my profile, so check it out if you don't know what to write for yours. Please don't make it any longer than what I wrote, or I'll have to edit it down.

The stats at the top are basically meaningless (but funny, I think). So you can just tell me the order you want from best to worst. Ie: dexterity first, speed second, experience last, etc.

BTW, any of our "FAT friends" can have a profile on the site if they want. (you too, Andrew G. and Collin - just because you're both on this blog enough  ) Just give me your bio.

I'll also need head shots from everyone for the bio pics.
