You dont have to know people in person to post. You can post on others based on their internet personalities, but please be kind. Think short, like 1 or 2 sentences, because then there lots of room for the thread to go into the 1000's-

i'm skipping Jon because Jon already did him.

the first and only time i met Ben Roscoe was when he came to winnipeg last summer to go to folk fest, and we kicked at the forks for a solid couple hours, although he and his friend had been there kicking there ALL DAY! He makes really nice bags, but i have never owned one.

Andrew Grant has balls the size of coconuts and is a super cool dude who is the only other footbag player that I know other than me who smokes. GO TEAM TOBACCO!

Andrew was one of my first footbag idols. He shreds barefoot with sweet ass red climas. He told me he played without insoles because it kept his foot lower to the ground and ever since, I don't play with insoles. I have yet to see him rock the turntables, but am excited to see it someday. Also stoked to kick at MFJ :D

Slowsis has figured out the secret to my bags. I admit it, they are possessed by some sort of fairy magic, BTW, the fairies live under my house for easy access.

There were two occasions where I saw jrstubs' bags:

1)Matt Cross showed me a tester bag at KICKASS2. It was nice and small - Matt said it was your first bag. I remember it was pretty good. A panel blew out, but I think it got repaired.

2)Philly Shred, March... something of this year. Drew Krause had one of your bags. It was big and filled with way too much facile. I didn't like it, but opted to nap on it if I didn't have a pillow to rest my head.

Andrew Grant has the body of a Greek God, if I remember correctly from the photo of him posing with fruits. I thought that was gold. :P

Ben Roscoe is a good kid. He should wear shorts that don't expose his boxers underneath. :P

I never saw played with one of Wasabi's bags....I don't even know what they look like. I also assume he is 100X better that me at footbag, because I suck.

Just a suggestion that you know them. Sorry that was offensive to some(one).

I met Waylon at Cornell. I bought a bag from him and won another of his for winning intermediate. The one I bought is really good and I'm still using it. The one I won hasn't been used yet because the first one is still going strong. He's a really cool guy who told me what he thought about stitching and stitchers and stuff. It was the first time I'd seen the innards of a bag, cuz he was making the prize bag I won during the event. I hope he comes to Grass.

I met Danny at NYJ 06/07 and shredded with him a bit. He seemed quiet at the time. But later, we were playing four square, and laughed soooo much at some shitty dance moves.

Henry is jealous of my dance moves, it makes Danny hit the floor with gut busting laughter.

zeke is an awesome guy. i met him my first time at midwesterns. hes really hospitable and nice. when we got on the train, he put on this mean face... i guess to trick strangers into thinking hes mean. dont let him fool you! he let us stay at his place twice, once at midwesterns, and another time at nyj. someone put turkey in his toilet... and he was nice for not blowing up about it.

i havent met pete bowler in person, but we traded facile and he was really nice about the whole transaction... he even sent me like an inch extra!!!!

(if jrstubs posts after me, please consider ignoring his post)

Pipenburg makes me really nervous when I watch him shred. He's so skinny and shreds so hard. I'm afraid he's going to break himself. But he doesn't. And has nuclear sets that make you want to cry because they're so effortless to him. He's also a really genuinely nice kid.

Caleb Abraham is one of the greatest people I have ever met through this sport. He is someone who duplicates my drive and determination and looks at footbag almost exactly how I do. He is a strong willed guy, multi talented, and an asset to the community.

I first met Caleb at Funtastiks god knows how many years ago (3 I think). I was a newbie, and he had already gotten pretty good at shred, but we both shared the idea that this game was more a sport, and that through training and determination we could both reach the top of it. Caleb inspired me to get better because every tournament was another reason to show up and show him some new tricks.

My favorite memory of Caleb is watching him play in a circle with Vasek, Honza, and Peter Irish at worlds 04 in montreal. Although Caleb didn’t make B.A.P there I had to admire his determination and drive and genuine balls. He stepped into a world class circle and held his own, and you can’t really dismiss that easily.

Maybe a memory that supercedes that one is when I won worlds 04 intermediate and Caleb was the first one to hug me when I jumped off stage. Him and I share the bond of both winning that event at worlds (him in 02), and to see the look on his face when I finished my routine really made me feel like I had done the title justice. Caleb had total faith in me and always rooted me on from the time he was teaching me to when I eventually was shredding at his level.

As I write this all these memories just come flooding back, and I realize just how much I have done with Caleb over the 3 years I’ve know him. Perhaps and even better memory of Caleb was when we skooled 1-1 on Saturday night at funtastiks two years ago. It was a crazy session where we both played really well and everyone at the tournament was watching us go back and forth. I really felt like we pushed each other that night and I’m glad it’s on tape so I can remember it. I remember being dead tired after that session and limping back to my hotel room with Caleb covered in sweat behind me.

Caleb has been my hotel buddy at numerous events on the East Coast. He’s hosted the Steel City Open which I drove out to and had a great time. He had a rocking party at his house. He’s bought one of my bags. He’s always come out to events I was at and been generous and welcoming.

As a footbag player one thing stands out the most. Caleb had a drive to be the best when many were content letting Vasek own everyone. He trained super hard for a period of maybe 4 months last year, and he burnt himself out. I think the worst memory I have of Caleb is when he told me that he had realized that at some point hard work just isn’t enough. That really bothered me because Caleb was and always has been the most optimistic footbagger I know. If he couldn’t do it, he always knew with a few hours of practice he could. And that really stuck out. He didn’t give up, and he trained like hell to meet his goals. It really struck me that the guy I looked up to so much was throwing in the towel, but almost a year later I can relate to him better than he probably knows.

Caleb might not be the best shredder and he might not even play much these days. But for a while he was definatley one of the best on the east coast and I can say with absolute certainty I would not be busting how I am if it wasn’t for Caleb always pushing me and giving me the props I so craved. Caleb showed me that this game can be a sport, but he also (not intentionally) showed me that you can’t get caught up in it, or all the fun will fade from it.

I haven’t seen Caleb in 7 months but I still think about him quite often. He tells me that real life has caught up with him and the pressures of a job and girlfriend take away the time he has to shred. He is however getting sick nasty at guitar and I really liked the songs he sent me. It just shows that with a personality like Caleb’s you can get good at anything.

Overall Caleb shows just how strong of a friendship a bag full of beads can create. If Caleb never plays again I will always value the times we’ve had on the East Coast. Him and dozens like him have made me not a better shredder, but a better person.

Writes and sings really catchy music -- also is really good at footbag and is a super nice guy.

Dave's post made me feel like I should write more.
I first met Matt back in, like, 2002, or something? 2003? At the Colorado Shred Symposium 4, my first big tournament. (I guess it might have actually been 2004? 'cause haven't they been the same as the years since it started in 2000? I dunno...) I think we had talked on AIM quit a bit beforehand. I remember talking to Matt and Mike Anello a lot many moons ago. I remember hearing stories from, like, 2001 Worlds (Vancouver?) where Matt was accused of stealing Ryan Mulroney's gear. I think that was the first thing I ever heard about him. Then I was really excited that I was talking to someone who had hit a 4-dex move, back in the day (shooting star). He hit shooting star a lot at CSS4, though he kept saying they were the -- I don't remember.

I remember chilling in our room with some awesome footbag people, like, Chris Pinkus, Sam Colclough, Eric Reile while Matt and Dave "Highlander" Holton played guitar.

I think KICKASS 2 was the next time I saw him again and then we also did a footbag demo thing for a breakdance show here in Toronto a few weeks, or so, after that.

He's a really good guy and one of my favourite people to have met through footbag.

Erik is the closest friend I've met through footbag -even though he's the last bagger I've met! He eats something gross called 'pork carpet'. Loves bubble tea. Loves chicken and rice. Currently residing in Toronto, his appartment has a great view of the Skydome and the CN Tower.

I know more about him but this should suffice for now.
