Dave Da Blog

Post by Dave Da »

The first post on my blog.

Well to start Im not new to the footbag world but, im new to really trying to get into freestyle. Basically it all started about 2 years ago when I bought my first dirtbag, eventually I became the best circle kicker I knew at my school, but to everyone else hacky sack was a fad. It came and went. I kept playing alone and made very little progress due to the lack of proper equipment. Then eventually I lost interest.

About a year an a half about I met Daniel Botkins. He is a Gnarly stitcher that got me interested in stitching. I'm sure some of you know who he is. He is the guy who got me interested in stitching. Since then I focused more on stitching than playing. It wasnt until I got a bag from Mark Telman that I really started to progress with my freestyle.

By no stretch of the imagination am I a good shredder. I am working on it though I try to get atleast a half hour session in everyday.

Heres what i got as of right now...
All basic stall
inside
outside
toe
clipper
all both feet

ATW both directions both sides
Mirages (both sides)
Butterfly (one side)
Pixies (both sides)
osis (one side)

Theres probably more but I cant think of it.

hey David! Welcome to Freestyle Shred! You have a great base of tricks to begin with!

Make sure to skool tricks with both feet!

P.S. I didn't see anything written about it, but you should look into buying Rod Laver's if you already haven't. They help immensely!

I had a pair of Lavers. That i got when I first started a long time ago. I modded em and then eventually stopped freestyling and I kept wearing them after I stopped shredding a while ago. but thanks for the comment. I am actually going to get another pair soon. I also have a theory about a pair of pumas I wanna buy and mod.

Yea dude. I dont want to tell anyone what they are called yet. I dont want anyone to see them until I got them completely modded and shit so. I still have to buy them. I looked at them in the the store and i got a good feeling about them. Im going to order my lavers today. and go to the store and buy the pumas and use them both at the same time and see which one is better.

so yesterday David Clavens bag got to my house. I really like it. Its got Navy Pents and Green Grape Hexes 55gs. Its like perfectly made for the way i play. I really havent played that much lately but i will once my new Lavers come. i ordered them on Friday so I am not really sure when they will get here but I am kind of waiting around for them so i dont have to use my crappy All-Stars. The whole PUMA thing will have to wait I am actually in the process of moving. I got a house with two of my friends so Ive been preparing for that.

So pretty much when I play lately Im trying to do things very consistantly. Like alternating Clippers just things like that OVER and OVER again. All my other stalls are perfect. My clippers arent even bad. i just feel like thats the most basic then i need to improve on.
