the aussie guys that replied on our regional footbag.org forum leant towards the 40 gram mark, their reasoning being that it's far easier to add weight than it is to remove it. but the aussie freestyler market is very small indeed, so they are certainly not going to buy too many of the bags anyway through sheer lack of numbers.
the international guys (i.e. the other 7 billion of you) were almost unanimous in their preference of heavier is better.
after some tedious experimentation today, i've made my decision. i had to come to terms with my own preference, which turned out to be 45 grams ...
. i added filler to one of my previously 40 gram bags and found the results far superior in almost all categories. the best part was that there still remained ample space left in the 38mm bags after filling to 45 grams. so when they arrive and i update my website with the new stock details, i will offer to customise the mini 32-panel bags up to 50 grams if the purchaser prefers this weight. people that prefer heavier bags can either take me up on this offer or add weight to the bag once they receive it.
as ian said previously, the bags are imports, but i have been at this as a player and bag producer for a long time ... trust me when i say that for AUD$20, this new stock of mini 32-panel freestylers are very playable bags.
i have a few (i.e. 4) prototypes ready to send out if any of you shred-monkeys out there wanna give them a try and review them here ...

i changed my mind at the last minute and decided on 40 grams of 100% ball bearing as the base fill for my new softer freestyler stock. i will offer custom filling for each bag purchased ... 40 - 55 grams with all ball bearing filler or a ball bearing / plastic pellet mix for extra durability and roundness.
