Tennessee players?

Post by Muffinman »

Hi, my geography of The United States of America is close to non-existant. I have no idea where Tennessee is or if there are any players there, but I will very likely be there at the end of, like, June? For a week-ish with my family.

Are there footbaggers in this state??
I have no idea what city I will be in, and I have no idea what cities are even in this state, but I will be somewhere.

I will post more info when I know more...probably in the Tournies thread. I just want to find some players there in the meantime and thought this was a more likely place to find them. Please post if you know anything. Oh, and tell me where Tennessee is, please...like in relation to other footbag people...

It seems so wierd having to ask something like this. I have this inherent knowledge/map of where all footbag players are, don't most people?

Brian (brinard) and Holly (peglegholly) and their club the Nashville Footbag Brigade are in that state.

Come on Erik, you've got nine gajillion posts, you're supposed to know stuff like this!

:D

yeah, were in TN.

we can pretty much meet anywhere, but nashville has the biggest following as far as footbag, with about 4 active freestylers, and maybe 5 net players.

hope to see you then.

Lol, all the sudden people want to visit tennesssee! I'm glad, because there is almost nothing to do in this state but footbag.

There are at least 3 active freestylers here... and a bunch of active net players. There are a couple freestylers hangin around, but not really footbagging. There is a club in Memphis (Memphis Footworks) that are mainly net players, but I'm not sure about freestyle. The only active freestylers are on our Nashville Footbag Brigade site (click my signature) and there are some people who make the trip here for jams from the surrounding states. There is a freestyler in Knoxville, but I haven't been able to contact him.

I hope you decide to come to Nashville. We've been hearing awesome things about you, Eric... and are excited to meet you.

I hope your knees are well.

On the off chance that you end up spending your time in Memphis, there are some really cool young people who are into footbag net. I believe there is a couple of hours distance between Nashville (the capitol, main freestyle scene) and Memphis (the net club). I can get you incontact with Walt, the hipster of the memphis area, if you realize that is your destination. Have a fun trip and eat some bar-b-que (unless you're veggie)!

Thanks for the replies, guys.
I don't know where I will be yet, my couin is getting married so I am going wherever her fiance lives... if I'm there for a week, though, I gotta meet you guys. Cool -- I've been reading about you two also and you seem really cool. Yay! If I'm not in Nashville, then I will have to see about borrowing a car to drive down to meet ya'll (do Tennessee people have "southern accents"?). One of my brothers used to freestyle too, so maybe he would be down for it as well. I'll revive this thread (assuming it will die out quickly) when I have more info. Now I'm gonna go check out your website.

Oh, and thanks for the net info, Jeremy Mirken.

Yeah, I remember! Cool! I keep wanting to play again... I'm scared of getting sucked into WoW one day...
It looks like the trip may be cancelled, actually...blah. I feel silly having posted. I was, like, so sure my family was going, and then the next time I talked to my mom, she was all, like, "Yeah, your brothers aren't going anymore, and Dad doesn't want to either"... There's still a chance, but I think it's been bumped down to, like, 5% likelihood :(
Sorry guys. I was really excited.

In any case, I'll still revive this when I know more, if it's looking good..
I initially just wanted to post in the General Footbag section to see if there were players, just in the event that I do end up in the area. But those silly, silly mods moved my topic.
