Skippy compare these forums to something like the WoW official forums and be amazed there is infinitely less trolling here than there (and amazingly there isn't even a post counter there; I shudder to think what would happen if they decided to make one).

In some places, post count is important, like on my other forums I have 1000+, but here it's more rare and unimportant.

How often do I post spam?

In fact I would say that at least 8 of the top 10 definitely do not post much spam, but usually write interesting, or at least thought out, posts in whatever topic they post in.

Regarding the initial question, in my experience all forums that are predominately visited by adults have very low spam counts. Forums that appeal more to teenagers have much higher post counts. (Off the top of my head, about 50% of modified posters {at least the ones who responded to my survey} were over 20)

Many times when I start writing a post ... in the middle of writing it, i start thinking whether this post is really necessary .. or if someone had already posted the same thing ... and then i usually just cancel my post and read on.

I also don't like posting my views on most subjects ... because some people take apart your post into pieces and can make you feel like shit ... or that they're right and you can't change that .. I just don't like arguments and discussion at all.
So I stay away from the discussion forum(?) on this forum. Since I've joined modified i've only been in that part around 10 times.

Yeah, I banned myself from going in there. I'm sure anytime my post frequency went up, I was probably spending a lot of time in there in some lame flame war. It's funny, the only time I get 'pissed' at Modified is when I allow myself to go in there. And then I end up writing some lame hateful post, or creating some stupid topic. It seems like it brings out the worst in people.

i have a lot of posts... i think half was stupid and half was helpful. i dont really pay attention to post counts on myself or anyone else. i think its a silly feature. there are a lot of cool people who dont post much that have been around for a long time... and cool people who post a lot but havent been around for a while. post counts are just a number i ignore.
