David Clavens - G.R.A.S.S Juggling Show Performance
David Clavens - G.R.A.S.S Juggling Show Performance
Hi.
This weekend I was featured in a juggling show with some of the best jugglers in the country and the world. I peformed in front of over 500 people. The video here is my explanation of footbag followed by a 2 minute routine. Comments are welcome. As you can tell by the audience's reaction they really enjoyed it. I got numerous comments after my section about how much people liked it and how the break down made it easier to follow. I hope you like it too. Realize this is for a public show, I am not doing a pro-level routine, although there are some hard moves. I hope others will take some of my ideas for their own public performances for people who do not play footbag. Feel free to spread this. A youtube version will be up soon.

I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I like how you explained footbag to everyone (and your impression of hacky sack). However, at times it was difficult to understand what you were saying. I think you should speak slower and louder (now that I think of it, it could just be the camera).
Nice shoes.
Edit- Watched the routine. Very nice selection of tricks. It was really easy to understand what you you were doing since all of the dexes were really defined (eg. no Furious or Double Downs). I like how you tried to end with Stepping Mullet.

Dude, i gotta say that was fucking great! Your explaination of footbag was good and concise and breaking it up with little jokes was an awesome effort.
The routine too was great to watch, sweet variety and pacing. i felt like i was there in the audience watching. The oohs and aahs when you did ducking tricks in time with the lyrics were funny and awesome.
Thanks heaps for posting it, a very good representation of freestyle footbag for the public!

Man! Amazing. That was a really good performance! I think people will remember that. I think that every single member of that audience will look at footbag in a new light and if they ever see a shred circle will identify with it closer. Awesome David! Also, really good only dropping on the last trick. Nice ripped warriors! As far as constructive criticism, I think the way you would pause in your routine to almost ask for applause seemed akward. What I'm trying to say is that you are at such a level that I don't believe you need to do that. I know the pauses can serve a purpose. Try lookin a girl and smiling or something. I guess just know you are cool enough to look up and be cool instead of looking akward. I mean, that's some super hard stuff, but you did SUCH a good job I just wanted to say how you could have made it perfect.
Props, you are a great ambassador for our sport.
