I probably should have spent the last week studying and working on papers, but instead I taught myself how to use Adobe Premiere, and spent an obscene amount of time working on this:
-Dat Phan for giving me technical and stylistic video-making advice over Gmail chat.
-Rory Dawson, James Randall, Clavens and Dat for inspiring me to actually edit a video, and not just slap music over random clips.
-Pascal Tomecek for sacrificing playing time in order to film me.
This was my first time ever making a video, so I'd definitely appreciate constructive criticism. Also feel free to comment on anything else (shred, music, Rasheed Wallace, etc.).
Thanks for watching!

great video! Loved the shred, and the editing. Slo mo on the Bell Toll was great, some awesome links in there. Alpine leg - 2 different tricks were sweet.
coming for you jorden!

That one run in the parking lot was insane, and the run that began with jani>flurry was sick too. Loved the music, and the locations were varied enough to keep it interesting. Thanks for making this!
very nice.
The fury at the beginning was the shaz. The shred throughout was great. You look so in control in every string.
At the end, when it says Player: Ken Somolinos, I thought to myself that the name itself would be enough, and the tag 'player' was superfluous, but then I realized it's your title - u's a pimp ass playa... then also i realized a second later it was to differentiate from the camera person.
Cool video, props for finally overcoming all the obstacles and finishing it I liked Muted Tapping What and Fog Rubberman the most I think. Blurry Whirling Swirl looked really nice too, maybe the Step could have been crispier, but it's hard to tell from this angle.

Could you spend the next week figuring out how to put it on youtube so I can download it faster?
EDIT: Just watched it. Ken, your game is still amazing. I think you're the most "light on your feet" player. Everything looks fresh and light. Even the moves that should end in hard pounding look light and easy.
Wow, so many comments! Thank you to everybody who watched this and posted, I appreciate it. I’m flattered by all the compliments, but I’d also like to hear critiques and advice too, especially on the editing end. Shredwise I’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s clean and what needs work, but editing-wise I’m a newb and I want to get better, so I’m open to suggestions.
Here’s some random background on the video. Think of it like director’s commentary.
*All the footage comes from 2 days of shooting. I was happy with the shred from the indoor session, but most of it was tripod, so the next session we made a point to shoot outside in various locations. Every shot that isn’t in the green room was shot in an hour of running around campus.
*The footage with the snow was shot on April 20th. It dumped snow on the 16th, but by the 20th I was comfortable being outside in a tanktop and shorts, even though there was still snow on the ground. Ithaca weather is crazy!
*The idea behind the whirling swirl run was to shoot my shadow playing footbag. I don’t know how clear this is, but I find the run a lot more visually interesting when I watch the shadows than when I watch my legs.
*I had a lot of long runs that started with big tricks/links, but got real pedestrian after the first 10 contacts. Maybe I get conservative after the good stuff because I want a long run, but watching it during editing made me realize how boring that can be. There’s a shred lesson to be learned there for sure. I also didn’t feel bad cutting the ends of run when it was tripod footage. I’ll try and keep tripod footage to a minimum in future videos.
*The graveyard section was Pascal’s idea. He asked me if there were any tricks that are related to graveyards, and I immediately said: “tombstone, gravedigger.â€
