Yeah and some people blame violent computer games. lol.

lol flockpocken, you really need *three* in your closet lol? When is the last time someone broke in and had a gun ready to shoot you? Well if guns were banned there'd be even less chance wouldn't there.

LOL tsiangkun, i'm praying your post was as sarcastic as mine. "guns are everywhere". I wonder why they're everywhere. No, theres no possible way laws could have anything to do with that.
After the terrorist attacks of September the Eleventh, it's only logical that good citizens would want to be in a situation to stop a terrorist when they meet one on the street.
Yeah, cos everyone strutting down the street with guns in-hand would totally help when a few planes fly into a building at hundreds of kilometres an hour.

And of course, when physical violence occurs between a couple people (as it does everywhere), no one will ever pull out that gun and kill anyone.
Even with gun control, it's still just about as easy to find a gun.
http://www.bradycampaign.org/legislatio ... .php?st=mt

according to this page, in your safe state, kids can own guns without parental consent and no license is needed for a gun.

Assuming this information is true how can you claim what it would be like with gun control if theres pretty much none in 'MT'.
I don't own a gun nor do my roomates, but I could easily get a hold of one within the next half hour.
Thats the scary point, not only does it reinforce any sane man's view, it totally contradicts your previous sentence. In australia, a country with pretty strong gun laws, I would be hard pushed to get a gun per se. Let alone in the next half hour. And if i did manage, after much effort, to get a gun, it would probably be a rifle lugged from a farm somewhere. Not exactly the easiest thing to get into a uni classroom unnoticed.

damn, its a scary world.

HighDemonslayer wrote:Duh.... Prez. Bush supported the renewal of the AWB ban.

The expiration by itself, is not proof of anything, but a Republican dministration attempts to renew it means something. It means he was wlling to sign it, and would have tried to sway other Rep. stooges.

Your interpretation of the AWB is flawed, it controls a lot more than a "small, distinct group of weapons.

I went and did a VDARE search at SPLC...turned up 10 stories, the relevent one only contained baseless charges, with no evidence.

I am sure tha VDARE has loads of dirt on Morris Dees, and his race-hustling extortion organization SPLC.

If "guilt by association" is problem here, then I bet we could find a number of mass murders, and worldwide dictatorial thugs closely associated with Mr. Dees.
This is just more idiocy. Its like talking to a brick wall. If the president wanted the bill renewed, why didn't it get renewed? He got everything else he wanted from the previous congress. Isn't a more likely explanation that he just said he wanted it renewed in the 2000 election to appear 'moderate' but when the time came to do something about it he'd rather play to the base?

The renewal or lack thereof is the entire fucking point. Its the actual empirical result. The empirical evidence indicates that gun control is not moving in the direction that you claimed, and your claim is apparently based upon the standard gun nut paranoia.

So here's the Wiki on the Assault Weapons ban - people can look at this and decide if it really applies to a small, distinct category of weapons or not.

Race-hustlers. Yeah, echo Rush Limbaugh's talking points... that'll deflect the obvious racism of your statements and the links you post. The SPLC is a widely respected organization that tracks violent extremist behavior of a variety of groups, and has done excellent work throughout its history.

I'm done with this. Here's a pretty close approximation of what's going on here: http://atrios.blogspot.com/2007_04_22_a ... 6139858288[/url]

Yeah...arguing with you about Bush's desire to renew the ban is f-ing useless.

Go ahead and check his link to the Wiki-thing, just remember the source.

It contains some good stuff, allthough its definition of AW, using Sugarmanns' definition seems off a bit.

You can see that the "Ban" bans a list of brand names, right off the bat.

It then bans any combination of features, from a large feature list.

I am ready to look ahead, to the next Congress/administration/ for more action.

You never know, in the last day of his presidency, Bush might sign an E.O. banning and seizing all private-arms, thus ensuring 1000 years of utopian bliss. :)
Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?
