Santa Cruz Soul Jam

Post by Senor Grommet »

http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1172562114

Although there probably isn't much interest in a Santa Cruz Footbag Net event here on Modified, I though I'd announce it anyway. On May 5-6th, 2007 The Santa Cruz Footbag Club will host its first net event in nearly a decade: The Santa Cruz Soul Jam.

As opposed to the formal structure of most net events, this event will be a bit more laid back, with a structured format for Saturday's net festivities and free-play on Sunday. If you are at all interested in learning to play Footbag Net, I suggest that you pay us a visit this weekend. I am hoping we can scrounge up some of footbag's living legends. I expect that we'll have about 7-10 world champions from Net's past, a veritable who's who of net players.

Please post here if you're thinking of coming. Also, I have no qualms if any freestylers wanna show up to hang out with other footbaggers or even freestyle, as long as they understand that most players won't be freestylers. I hope for players like the San Jose kickers or Cammel to attend, but who knows. . .

i'll be honest and say that i have much less interest in net than freestlye, but.. i'm a serious beginner and i'd like to go and check out some people who have been playing for awhile, whether they be net or freestyle players. :) i think i'll come sunday if i can't go for both days... Wouldn't have a place to stay :D

Awesome. I'll send you a PM. Where will you be coming from? I bet I can hook you up with a free place to stay while you're in the area. This will be a net event, but there will be several people there who freestyle so I'm sure you'll be abe to scrounge up a circle.

A free place? that would be more than generous. i think i read about this event on footbag.org awhile ago... As for where i'm coming from, i live in Bellflower. Santa cruz is only a few hours away. The metro will probably get me that far. :) i'll most likely be bringing a friend.

BUMP

Please visit this link for event details:

If you are in California and you enjoy playing footbag, you should definitely consider coming to the Santa Cruz Soul Jam and broadening your horizons!

Even if you dont already play net, you may be interested in learning, watching or in hanging out with a bunch of footbag players whom you've probably never met, so come check it out! I'll give you a free place to stay in exchange for an attempt to convert you to the dark side . . .

Please post if you are a "freestyler" from CA who is considering coming to this event. Thank you! Send me a PM if you want some more details or have questions.

Less than two weeks away!

Gray, do you have testing on that weekend?

Scott, did you find a flight?

Jeremy, will you have tequila on hand to celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

Edit: I just talked to Steve G. and he's coming for at least one day, and he's going to bring some other freestyle players with. So freestyle and 4-Square will happen.

Freestyle?

YUCK!

I thought that Stevie G was one of the 'tribe' . . . I guess I was mistaken.

Seriously though Cammel, quit humping around and keep a brother updated.

studying for an AP test is pointless, esp when your IQ is like 197. Your educated guesses will likely get you 4s and 5s and you'd get a 3 without even reading the problems. See you in Santa Cruz Gray!
