Consider it done.

Sessions have been hard this past week since I've been trying real hard to get over this sickness. Ever so slowly I'm getting over it, but ever so slowly is seems like it's taking my endurance along with it. Bah. I think I'm only going to have two more sessions before we leave for Montana - one on Tuesday and one on Thursday when Andrew gets here, which will just be a light shred to welcome an old friend to the city.

Some highlights from the week...

- Blurry Reaper (new trick) and Blurriest bsos
- 4 Beastly
- Rip > Rip > Butterfly Rev. Swirl > Rip > Rip > Butterfly Rev. Swirl > Rip > run
- Bigwalk x 3 bs
- Rev. Swirl x 32 on right side
- Surging Mirage (Surreal?) > Skull Smasher
- Bigwalk > Bedwetter bs
- Far Rev. Swirl x 5
- Far Rev. Swirl > Spinning Double Switch
- Blurry Whirl > Blurry Whirl > Spinning Whirl > Mobius > Pdx Blender > PS Whirl midstring
- Gyro Butterfly Rev. Swirl > Ripwalk
- Drifter > Rev. Swirl > Vortex > Rev. Swirl > Pdx Drifter > Rev. Swirl x 2
- Matador > Nuke ss Butterfly x 2

Tuesday I hope to go over my competition stuff for the most part, so hopefully that will go well. I thought of a new Sick 3 to use as well, so I'll be practicing that along with my "staple" choice. I'm getting so stoked to see everybody again :D.

I will pretty much have a camera on me at all times while I'm in Montana. Byrin always plays like 3x better than usual when he's at events....so, put 2 and 2 together, eh? :)

So Montana came and went. Overall I played pretty well, hitting a lot of new tricks and representing Canada fairly decently. It was great seeing everybody again, I had so much fun. Kevin got about 12 hours of footage from this event, which basically translates into a fucking awesome video :D.

- 2 new 8 adds
- 4 new 7 adds
- 7 new 6 adds (6 of them bs)
- 4 Beastly for Nick

And that's about all I can remember right now :P. Most of that was on camera so I'm not going to to about spoiling what I did, but I was laying down surging a lot.

I think I will be taking the rest of the week off until Friday. My knees actually aren't too bad, but I'm pretty sore.

I've had three sessions in a row, starting Friday, and my legs feel great. I would love to shred tomorrow but I know that it's best if I don't. I don't work until noon so I might just wake up earlier and lift weights (because I haven't done that in about 3 weeks as it is :/).

Anywho, Montana has definitely left its impression on me. It really helped to show me where my strengths and weaknesses lay in my game, and now I'm taking the steps to tweak out the bad and maintain the good. From now until Worlds, I plan on having atleast 4 sessions a week (aiming for a total of 10hrs). Atleast two of those will be dedicated to drilling, the other two shred.

That said, some good things came out of the last few sessions...

- Backside Surge bs (also bsos'd)
- Pdx Grifter bs
- Pdx Blender x 9 w/ right, x 6 w/ left
- Ducking Butterfly x 19
- Matador, Sumo and Nuke ss Butterfly bsos
- Surging Whirl > Whirlwind > Spinning Blender on my weakside
- Tomahawk > PS Whirl > Spinning Whirl > Mobius > Pdx Blender bs

I'm really happy that I'm stoked to start drilling agian. I'm also happy that after my last drill sesh, where I played fairly hard, my knees didn't bother me very much. :)

Hmm... another week, I think I kicked a total of 3 times totalling around 7.5 hours. Not good. I need to pick up the slack.

- Venom bsos
- Spinning Whirl x 10 bs
- Atom Smasher x 3 > (Legbeater > Blur x 3) x 2 first attempt
- Double Spinning Clipper bsos w/ Double Spinning Osis
- PS Egg > Symp Egg > Symp Whirl x 2 > PS Whirl
- Swirl bsos a few times 8O

Rory and I are going to be having a Mother's Day shred tomorrow morning, I'm stoked. My weakside Barflys and PS Whirls have been feeling pretty good these days, which I'm super happy with. I need to work on my Blurry Whirls, though. Or to be more specific, I need to work on stepping out of my Blurry Whirls. For an easy, common 5 add, I suck at them :? .

EDIT - I had Surging Ingyro Mirage unsealed on Thursday. That trick feels so sweet.

A really good session this morning with Rory. I was working the double downs like a motherfucker, and I've never hit so many Flurries in one session than I have this morning - da da da da da i'm luvin' it!

- Weakside Flurricane :D
- Flurry bsos a few times
- Blurriest, Pixie Paradon, Scorpion's Tail bsos + Spanishfly > handcatch
- Scorpion's Tail > Blurriest x 2
- some solid runs in the +30 contact range

Now I just need to shower, then I'm off to the parents to celebrate Mother's Day, then I'm hoping to see my sweetheart.

sick stuff on the flipside flurricane. if i could embed a clip of my self, i would sing my usual "byrin hit flurricane" song, but this will have to suffice...

So I've been in a slump these past few weeks, where I'm just not hitting what I should be and always dropping on crap that I shouldn't be. I've had a few good highlights, but my motivation to get better has just been shot from all these bad sessions :(.

To make matters worse, I'm not working this week due to renovations at work so I have all this free time to spend towards footbag, but what's the point when I walk away from a session feeling like I've really done nothing in the way of progression?

In a little bit of good footbag news, today I may have gotten the hang of double spinning (finally, though it really comes and goes. I guess I'll have to confirm that thought another session) and found that I can do inspinning semi-decently.

My buddy/work-out comrad/squash partner is working out of the city for a few weeks at a time, so with him gone I've lost a lot of motivation to hit the gym as well:(.

Ooooooooooooooooooh you got to love how life can be like a roller coaster sometimes.

:x

EDIT - I'm just going to quit my bitchin'.

May 29th '07

I footbagged this afternoon as an excuse so I can spend some time in the sun. Now not only did I turn red, but I had some good highlights too...

- Ducking Pdx Torque bs (probably the third time I've hit it?)
- Pdx Torque x 5
- Torque > Rev. Swirl > Pdx Torque > Rev. Swirl x 2
- Pdx Blender > Pdx Torque x 2
- Butterfly > Inspinning Osis x 3 bs
- Inspinning Osis x 2 bs
- Inspinning Osis > Rev. Swirl bs
- Ingyro Mirage bs

Not too bad for just learning how to inspin a few days ago I think.

bee dee boo deop. I liked your video. You should post it in the video section. Rubberman 2 looked really good. Have you changed your atomics? They looked really high and powerful. Have you ducked nucleur? hit 69?

Let's play in the table's spot sometime.
