So school is winding down and that means finals and grades and a whole lot of people antsy about whether they'll get that B or A. So today I sat down and thought about my finals and how I'll do. I have five classes:

1) First year seminar (2 cred) : there is no final for this class, and I know I have an A. Good.
2) Enviornmental Protection: I have a 90 right now, the final is worth 18% of my grade, and he hasn't added extra credit. I'm thinking A-.
3) English : No final. 6 papers, B+ on most of them, one B, one A-. B+ expected.
4) Spanish: 92% average currently, final worth 20% of the course. Guaranteed B, looking at a B+. Do well on final, A- for class.
5) Psychology - 3 tests so far, B+, B+, A-. That plus extra credit plus my research probably makes an 89. Do well on the exam, A-. Do ok, B+.

So, here is my expected finish:
fys: a
enviornment : a-
english: b+
spanish : b+
psychology: b+

using my schools gpa predictor it comes out to: 3.49. wow. I need a 3.5 to make dean's list. So I better kick one of those finals. Meh. Wish me luck. School's out in 6.

Eating out girls, religious debates, black holes... Modified is quite the place for stupid argument. Perhaps I'll add a little quality.

My past days have been filled with shred, school, friends, sleep, stitching, etc. Funny how they mostly all start with s. Anyway, perhaps I should break it down.

Shred: I played a shitload since grass. My back hurt after the tournament but I had some idea that by playing it would loosen itself out, which it hasn’t. So I played every day except for the past two because I realized I just shouldn’t hurt myself, it’s not worth it. So I’m stretching and shit and hopefully it will fix itself.

School – I’ve been studying for my finals a bit more than I thought I would. I think my environment one will be really easy. I’m pretty worried about Psychology and Spanish though, but what are you gonna do ya know? If I do well tonight on my environment one I’ll have a bit more confidence and leeway on the others.

Friends – I hung out with Ian Brill the other night, he was in town playing a gig. Really fun. We went to this party at this professor’s house and I showed footbag to like 20 people. Not bad. A lot of them were artists, engineers, etc, and it was cool how they could open up to my out of the box sport. A lot of them asked genuine questions about what I do. It was cool. Every “performanceâ€

Good stuff. May I humbly suggest removing the word shitload from your vocabulary? I'm not one to talk, the reason is, you are reaching such tall status that all these little things stand out and it would be very easy for you to reach for perfection. If not, I won't mention it again.

Sorry to say that I don't agree with that. I like to read his posts especially because he seems to tells his story by talking to us instead of only writing down his ideas. I prefer reading that than a perfect writing with no expressions and emotions.

Good luck on finals, if you havent had them yet. I actually MISSED one already - my first one! Not a good feeling. Luckily the prof is really cool. That or he just doesn't give a shit. Every lecture literally half the class would fall asleep. Kinda funny when there are <10 people in the room. Either way I got that made up this morning.

Peace!

It bothers me that my name and my efforts of writing are tied to this shit hole. All I read are the dumbest threads. I can't remember the last time modified gave me something positive. There's hardly even vids anymore.

It bothers me that a group of people who are so cool in real life are so lame online. Like, if a new player saw the shit that goes on here, I don't even know why they'd want to come to a jam. It probably is just a few bag eggs being stupid, but when that overpowers any smart people and what they post, its easy to get disillusioned.

This forum brings me no positives anymore. When I first came here everyone was great, I loved it. The best players posted a lot, videos were daily, and people didn't get angry, and if they did it was in a joking manner about silly stuff. When I see someone say "put a gun in your mouth and end it" (or something to that effect) I don't know what to think.

It is obvious why the best player of this sport makes no effort to post here. It is obvious why Honza, Felix, and Jorden rarely grace these pages.

Today summer begins, and today this blog ends for a little bit. I am going to actually go outside and PLAY, go out in public and TEACH, go to tournaments and get back into what footbag is really about.

If you read my blog, thanks. If you want to stay in touch, please shoot me an e-mail. All bag sales and talking can be done through davidclavens at gmail dot com. Stay tuned to davidclavens.com, there will be a lot of good stuff in the future.

Lastly, I always used to say that in light of crap on modified I should provide something good. Perhaps I did for a little, but it doesn't really matter. I don't think too many people read this.

Peace.

hey guy,

thanks for mentioning me in your grass post.

I like modified. it has it's stupid parts, but it keeps me in touch with cool people and gives me a place to sell my bags and read up on awesome players like you and jorden and europeans and everyone. I'm going to keep reading it, and I'll miss your presence, if you decide to stop posting.

Man, just when I was being good.

edit: What you wrote seems selfish to me. Whatever. If Lon, Vasek, Honza, etc. don't post on here, maybe you shouldnt either. So you can be like them. Wait .. I've gone and confused myself. Why don't you just not read those threads? If there arent enough videos, why don't you just post a vid every day. Don't you play a lot? I dunno. I've already been through the complaining stage. It's basic knowledge to know that you can only change things in your direct control. Ugh, enough of this. You're too cool to have to resort to quitting modified just to be cooler.

an A is worth 4 points. B is worth 3. So, you have 5 classes and you take the average grades. so, 5 a's is a 4.0. So I got a couple A's and a couple B+'s. 3.6 is good for college. Not amazing, but good.

Sorry to hear you'll be posting less. Your blog has always been a joy to read. And congrats on the nice GPA man. :D Anyways, hope you are doing well man. Spit out a video or two soon, maybe you could film a few challenges from your thread and stick 'em up. I don't know. Up to you. :)

*Edit: And don't forget to give me a shout if you go down to NC and want to play or just chill.

How did you sprain your ankle?

Congrat's on making Dean's list. Sorry to hear about about the spraint ankle though.

Jake and I just had the best session we have ever had thanks to your bag. I sealed paradox drifter and several combos that I have wanted for a long time, for the first time today. Jake was hitting some enormous combos himself. Hopefully I'll get to share your craftsmanship with the NYFA crew this weekend.

I hope you make the best of your new job, whatever it is.

Best job ever :D
Luckyyyy! *Napoleon Dynamite voice*

So when you get an A, is that equivalent to a mark say, between 85 and 100 on a paper? And a B is like between 75 and 84 out of 100 etc etc.?
