This Jam has been a lot of fun so far. We had 2 good sessions of footbag, ate some sushi for dinner last night and came back to chris's place to drink and party for St. patricks day. This morning we are going over to Peppermints for breakfast and then back to RIT for some shred and possibly 4 square if anyone is down. We have all been playing pretty well, I hit some new stuff: Alpine Blurrage, Nebula > string, New 5 links and some decent runs. It's been great so far, can't wait to session today.

GRASS 2007 needs to happen. I want to do as much as I can to organize, promote, and fund this event. However, I will need your help.
Here are the tasks that I believe need to be completed by the end of this week.
1) Get the dates for the juggling tournament at RIT. Because I have no idea.
2) Post GRASS info on modified to generate interest and an estimate of attendance.
3) Sponsors.
4) Host hotel.
5) Prizes.
6) Logos and shirts?
Am I missing any tasks?
I have somewhat of a family crisis happening right now that is making it difficult for me to focus so I am asking for any and all help. If you are unable to help, I will respect that. What I need more than anything is information on how to make this event happen. I can make calls and all of that stuff, I just need to know who to call/write to etc. etc.
Thank you.

I think it's the weekened of April 27-29. Since Paul is the RIT student, he should be the one with that info and the connections with the juggling club to make sure we have a table and stuff.
What hotel did we use for GRASS last time? The RIT Inn?
When I have all the main info (especially dates, times, and lodging) I will post a thread in the Tournies section and make a .org listing. Also I have Katie from Redbull's number, so I'll see about that.

I emailed Jeff Peden, the main contact for the RIT juggling event, earlier today and asked if we may share the floor with him. I have not received a reply yet from him. As soon as I receive confirmation from him I will notify this blog that the event is on.
Peace.

I will not be able to make the Sunday session. If anyone is interested in having a session tomorrow (Saturday) starting around 12:00 noon, please contact me at 455-9706 and leave a message if I do not answer. I have band practice tonight and there is a good chance I will not hear my phone ring or feel it vibrate. Thank you.
Peace.

Love the site Mike. My favorite bit on there though is the warning you give for the videos.

mike, the site looks great! I love the inclusion of ballslaw in the subdescription of the sport. thanks also for including me on the frontpage.
hope your games are good. I played today. strings were shit as usual, but I did end the session with some new combos, alpine bw > ps whirl, spinning whirl > psw both sides, spinning blender bsos, flip montage. good old pdx whirl component...

If you guys have any photos you would like posted on the RFA web site, please submit them to me or post them to this footblog. Having some images on the RFA site will really liven things up a bit.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would like to have a group session. It has been much too long. Is anyone else interested? As you know I am out of town during the weekends but my weeknights are open.
I love footbag and you can too.
Peace.

wow the footblog's back, and the website is looking great. good job mike!
I agree that we need a group session, but unfortunately I won't be able to play footbag anytime soon. I was in my friend's car as she went off the road... my eyeball got damaged a bit and needed stitches. It's just a shame because I was playing so strong the week after GRASS and now I'm going to be all rusty when I start again. Not even William Mattar can get compensation for that.
However, I should be totally recovered within 2 weeks which will be just in time for Montreal. Who's going????? I hope to FINALLY break out my new mesh g6's there. But someone else will probably have to represent Rochester at this year's Circle Competiton. I don't want to compete unless I'm in tiptop shape.

I am sad to hear of your eye injury Chris. I hope you heal up good and quick.
As for Montreal, I will not going. I do hope someone from the RFA can represent.
Peace.

Chris, I'm really sorry to hear about the accident and your eye. As Mike said, I hope you heal up fast, it feels like forever since I've played in a circle with you... or the rest of the RFA for that matter.
On that note, as Mike brought up earlier, I would love to have a group session whenever everyones schedule permits. I know im not exactly at a pro level per say
, but since I'm still in high school (not for long
) I can play pretty much whenever, jsut give me a call.
Peace

Aww Chris, that's brutal. I hope you feel better super soon.
I was wondering if any of you guys need accommodations in Montreal cuz we're getting a Multi-8 at the UQAM and it looks like we'll have a couple of unoccupied single rooms. Anyone interested? It's $44+tax/night/room.
Thanks. Can't wait to see you guys! Mike, that sucks ass that you're not coming, who will provide the musical accompaniment to our partying?!

I'm going to Montreal for sure. I think Paul said he wanted to go, and I'd like to avoid taking my junky station wagon all the way there. Sooooo count me out of the transport equation, except for the fact that I can take driving shifts.
I still have not made any lodging arrangements, so I would love to weasel my way into that Multi8. I'll shoot out a PM on behalf of the RFA.
Eye is healing, thanks for the comments. It just sucks to be completely useless for an extended period, but I'll be fine. At least the insurance should even things out.
I think about footbag all the time. It's such an essential part of my semi-daily activities that I cannot imagine how all the normal people get by without it. I can't wait to be flying through the air with the greatest of ease, simply hitting guiltless stuff. Though when I'm training it's just not satisfying unless I feel like I'm closing in on the world's best, but right now I would be happy with butterflies. It's been a week since I have even kicked a bag and that's FUCKED up.
The only conclusion to draw is that I'm never going another day without at least a little freestyle, as long as I am physically able.
Hey the RFA needs more exposure and direct contact with local people so we can build our membership. We could have played at the Lilac Festival again this year, but its almost too late and I dont think we will be able to get enough freestylers together for a circle.
whatever. see you in canada
