Terrace Footblog

Post by Whaaaaat »

Well for all that don't know me (which I'm pretty sure there are only about two people who might know me) I am Andrew Larsen. I was introduced to Footbag by my good friend Danny Williams, some you might know him! He pretty much got me and my friends hacking in 9th grade and went from there, we got decent at hacking and started playing four square which ultamitaly lead to him geting us all into footbag. Unfortunatly for the longest time, which happened to be the time when I was most motivated to learn to footbag, I didn't have a good footbag, or good shoes... the only thing I had was some semi-decent shorts! By the time I got shoes and a footbag I lost most of that initial motivation and i hadn't learned to do too many things. At this point I have have some shoes that work whole lot better and a few good footbags. I know some basic things okay, mainly just toe stalls, clippers, butterflies, and such... though I'm not real great at them.. I've decided that I want to start footbaging more and get better! (maybe actually learn some real tricks eventually). So i'm going to try and keep this blog of mine going, if anyone wants to comment on anything I post, or wants to give me advice about something...feel free! Well i'm off to finish my homework so I have time to FOOTBAG!!

DANNY: k, I'll try and bring them more often, especially next week since I should be off grounding by then :D . So why did I change the name to "Terrace Footblog" ? Anyway...

So far so good, footbaged a little before work yesterday, probably will footbag a little with at least Danny today! Found out that I'm not as far along as i thought I was... I need to work A LOT on basics for now! (Especially on my bad side!)

DANNY: That works... i can just post my progress and stuff here for my benefit and so you can give me sugjestions, etc.... works for me!

well yesterday... had a good footbag session with Danny! :) , getting slightly better already, still mainly just working on basics by myself and with Danny's help when he's present. So far so good, probably won't footbag today, have to much going on, especially with work in the middle of the day, but I'm going to see if I can squeeze in a little time...

OHHH NOOO, I haven't footbagged since Friday... I'll probably footbag either later today or tomorrow afternoon though. I just had a busy weekend, especially Saturday... got up, did homework, went to girlfriends play, went to bed... Anyway, hopefully I'll have a little more time this week/weekend cause I need to shred more!... anywho...

Cory has been wanting to play a whole lot lately. Its cool. I love to see the drive in that kids eyes. He has footed phoenix so many times... Its amzing.

I've been drilling tilts and b.o.p. SO MUCH lately. Its so cool just to see the progress lol.

I started working on some sick 3's for the U.S. Open, since I won't be able to make it to Worlds this summer  So far, I have hit about 5. a couple of them are easy as pie.

Also, I came to a conclusion that I never really had an introduction in this blog, or in the RCS blog. So..... I think i'll try and get one now.

I started playing hacky-sack back in 2001 or so... I would say sometime in August. me and some friends just picked up the hack and played. Me and some friends probably hacked every day after school all year, rain or shine. That was my freshman year.

Sophomore year, one of our kicker friends, Erik Sedarholme, went to Inglemoor for highschool, since he was on the outskirts of Mountlake Terrace. There he met some more hacky-sackers. Some were outstanding... One of them was Ricky Moran. There he learned about its real name, footbag, and all that stuff. He introduced us to footbag, and thats how it started.

Around the same time, a guy named Miles Kelly started, and just exploded. He was AMAZING, even though at the time he was just BOP with some shuffle, still. It blew my mind away. Then I saw ricky play and my jaw dropped.

Yep... Thats pretty much it. I met Justin Dale later my sophomore year, and yeah. I stopped pretty much all summer after sophomore year, and most of junior year. but now i'm stuck to it for good.!

Had a session on Tuesday

Flip Phoenix  (I started that day barely being able to pixie well)
Footed alpine smoke.
Dlo all over the place.. both sides of course.

The weather has been AMAZING in washington finally. High 70's every day, then just the right tempature at night. Shred is going to be going all over the place, just so I can catch up since I didn't shred enough in winter.

Kinda bad story, though. When I was trying pdx dlo on my flip on monday, my side started to hurt a little bit. Not completly bad, just enough for me to bitch about.

Kicking today with Dan, then tomorrow with Sam.. Probably with Dan too.

I haven't posted here for awhile...

I've been footbagging here and there, mainly just a few short sessions when someone has a bag...

But this last friday My friends Danny, Dan, Cory, and I all went down to Seattle and kicked with Sam Potter at the Seattle center! It was a pretty good session, expecially between Danny and Dan... Cory and I mainly just worked basic stuff...But seeing Sam kick was pretty inspiring, brought back some more motivation to shred more and get better, which I'm working on accomidating into my schedule!

Well thats about it... (Oh and now that I've seen Cory kick, I agree Danny! Cory is doing well! He's come pretty far, pretty fast! I was impressed, i think he'll do well!)
