Yeah, I would have responded but when I talked to Mike like two days ago on the phone and asked him to, he said he would take care of it that night then post in this thread. Since he hadn't done it yet (ealier tonight) I called him again but he wasn't in. It will get done.

... At The Helm by Hieroglyphics kicks ass.

I personally wouldn't use this option. Because I'm trolling annoying person that loves ripping on Jeremy.
But you know, you all could, COULD, just use some self control, and NOT read that person's post. It's not hard. Whenever I see posts made my Turnip, I usually just scroll over them and continue to read the rest of the topic. Get some self-control folks.

Uh... that's wrong.Cassy wrote:This wouldn't hinder free speech in any way, just allow us to ignore that speech if we choose to.
How would you feel if you were trying to present a point to your Congress, but then they just pressed the ignore button on you. That's a breach of freedom of speach. (Even though it already happens anyway.) I mean... this is just Modified, and we're not talking about presenting a point, but you get the idea.
But in the end, it doesn't matter. This is the internet. There are no laws here. For all you know, there could be a 200 members here from countries that don't have free speech.

i disagree, you still have the ability to say/type it, correct? and people will still read it, just not every one. it's not like your keyboard stops working when someone chooses to ignore you, you still get to tap away to your hearts content. and i have to scroll less, so every body wins!Switch Kicker wrote:Uh... that's wrong.Cassy wrote:This wouldn't hinder free speech in any way, just allow us to ignore that speech if we choose to.
i'm all for it!
not to be mailcious or anything matt, but i think mods shouldn't be able to use this function (are you a mod still?), as they ought to be able to read every thing that's going on.

I'm going to respond because... I want to.
Matt's not a mod anymore, so he's totally free to use the function. You are correct Andrew, the mod staff needs to be able to see all of the posts on the forum. So no, the staff will not use this function.

I've used it on other forums, and it really improved my experience. When you think about it, trolls really don't add anything to the discussion. If I wasn't a mod here, I would use it on 4 or 5 people myself. The fact is, life is short. If there's a tool that will limit the amount of time I spend in my life reading troll posts on a hacky sack forum, then I should use it.
