Friendship is going through things together, and is built over TIME. You meet someone once in your life and you call them your friend? Don't do that. You'll get screwed over time and time again until you learn the lesson.

To refresh your memory, I considered you a friend the same day you met me and Sunil in Dupont circle....after we shredded and drank some beers and shit. And regardless of your recent online persona, I still do consider you a friend. It's all good man....but this shit is ridiculous.
No offense Mr. Irish, but he apparently doesn't hold the same sentiment.

So everyone knows, Chris knows he got out of hand and agreed to take some time off of posting for two weeks. He'll be unbanned two weeks from today.

wow, I like, didn't read this before... missing out on all the fun. It impresses me how zill continually raises the bar. Or lowers, I guess.

Just wanted to say I completely agree with people posting pm's anywhere they like. As has been said, if someone wants to be two faced they should get called out for it. If they don't want people to see what they've written maybe they shouldn't be such a jerk...
It's kinda sad when a nice guy like Peter Irish has to come into the Discussion Forum to add to this. In fact, the only reason I came in here, was because I was hoping he wasn't chiming in with all the rest. To my suspicion, he was.

You know what PM stands for? Private Message. If somebody ever posted something in public that was clearly marked as private, I would never trust that person again. Indeed, when I see people post private messages in public, I take that as an indication that they are untrustworthy. Sure, feel free to do it, but expect consequences as well.

You mean like the time you posted a bunch of my private emails in your blog without asking my permission?

Yeah, well I had lost all trust in you, because of the fact that you send messages to people telling them that I can't be trusted, who you've never met and who didn't know who you were, despite the fact that I worked so hard when you came here and almost lost my job because of the work I put in for that campaign. I viewed the way you behaved in Australia and the way you behaved afterwards as a complete disrespect for the people in Australia who made the Nestle event a success and given you'd already demonstrated so much disrespect, I wasn't going to show you any respect.

Justifications justifications. The fact remains, you wrote this:

And you are a hypocrite, because you did just that.

Couldn't put it better myself. Hypocrite.

Take the argument to e-mail or PM's.

Emails are not labelled "private," and indeed, there was nothing in those emails that was confidential. You had already made your opinion on the subject clear in public. I was simply stating my opinion by posting my responses to your emails.

This is just another example of you attacking me, because you're such a self centred and immature person, who thinks that the world revolves around yourself.

Think of all the baby footbaggers out there who look up to you both, It breaks their little hearts to see you fight like this.
So the whole thing didn't go according to plan and everything didn't work out perfect. I still had alot of fun as did all the other footbaggers involved. And while both of you suffered under various stresses over that time, I'm sure you guys had alot of fun too. You can choose to remember all the things that went wrong and bury yourselves in semantics and hold it against each other as long as you want, or you can remember the good times: the circles with the kids, shredding in front of thousands of people, Winston my car (r.i.p.).
See what you've done, you've gone and made me cry
Neither of you is going to appolgise so why don't you both just blame me for it all, then I'll appologise for the both of you. Its all my fault. I've driven a wedge between you and its gone on long enough. Can you ever forgive me?

Sorry J, but this is an example of you being called on bullshit. Emails are implicitly private, don't dare pretend that you disagree.

Anyone has the 'right' to post a PM they receive. It's absurd to think otherwise. This is part of the agreement you enter into when you say anything to anyone - it is in their power to repeat it. The trick is to not correspond with weasels.

If someone pm'd me something personal I wouldn't go publicising it, even if I fell out with that person. If someone pm'd me vicious and illogical hate mail and pretended they were a saint in public, I see nothing wrong with posting that. Although I suppose I wouldn't expect them to 'trust' me ever again, I doubt they had any trust to begin with.

Bullshit Colin. Anybody who has worked in a real job would know that emails are specifically not private unless marked. That's why I have to have a 200 word legal statement as my signature from my work email.

Also if you go and read the emails I posted, and that post, you can see that posting those emails was clearly not used in any way to discredit Ken. It simply explained why he attacks everything I say and how I felt.

That was my side to begin with - that the recipient of information may distribute it at their discretion.

To clarify, the only bullshit I accuse you of is distinguishing between equivalent communication conventions to support your position. I didn't mean to specifically call you a weasel, and I have no idea what happened between you and Ken. For all I know he deserved whatever happened, as I've always read you to be a pretty reasonable, level, and sincere guy. It wasn't my intention to come down on one side of any bigger argument here, though I could have made that a lot clearer and I'm sorry for that.
