Carlmonteo Shred Crew

Post by peterh »

Hello Modified,
Welcome to the Carlmonteo Shred Crew's official footblog

Our names are Peter, Mudd, and Alex, and we like footbag. All three of us got into cirlce kicking as freshmen in high school. From there, we were anxious to learn tricks. Through online research, we discovered footbag.org and Steve Goldberg. We then began to attend the Stanford University Footbag Club. Steve Goldberg has since taught [and is still teaching] us everything there is to know about footbag, thanks Steve :-). He has also introduced us to some cool shredders, especially the Santa Cruz Crew. Without farther ado, here we are:

Due to our love for the sport, you may have also guessed that we like footbags too:

Now to break in the footblog, we had some shred highlights from tonight, which will become our first recorded footbag event ever!

We enjoyed a 2.5 hour session in Peter's garage, which was abruptly ended by the disgusting scent of a nearby skunk.

As for the individual accomplishments...

Mudd:
I enjoyed drilling some guiltless moves, as well as some of my favorite tiltless drills. For a moderate part of the session, I worked on the well known butterfly > pdx. mirage > rpt drill. Over the past few weeks, those tricks have been improving without bound. I also worked on a few of my current favorite moves: spinning clipper and torque. In addition to that, I revisited one of the classic tiltless drills; mirage > legover > rpt, nothing too amazing though, only 20 contacts. I touched briefly with atomic sets, and managed to sucessfully hit tapping. I'm now very tired and will head off to sleep soon to prepare myself for the adventures to come tomorrow.

Peter: Before I injured my foot trying a paradox mirage, I had a few good things:
-Some longer tiltless strings maybe 10-15 contacts.
-Stepping far legover bs.
-Pixie legover midstring, pixie symposium mirage (symposium smear?).
-Also got about 11 contacts of butterfly>far legover> butterfly>bubba rpt.
I'm gonna test out my foot tomorrow and see if its shreddable, but I won't push it because I don't want long term injury.

Alex: As I'm still recovering my WoW(World of Warcraft) addiction, I'm getting back into shred. Just learned flip symposium mirage on thursday so i was focusing on that for a little bit.
-symposium mirage (bs)>pdx. mirage (bs) in one string
-pdx. illusion midstring
-ducking mirage bsos
-pickup>butterfly>pdx.mirage>symposium mirage>butterfly>pdx. Illusion
-far pickup>near pickup>butter>far pickup>near pickup>butter>far legover>butter>bubba(near legover)>butter>far legover>butter>bubba>drop on far pickup
-ducking pdx. mirage
-paradons felt good
-spinning clipper multiple times

Showed up mucho late to Steve's because of my baseball game. Everyone was done shreding so I had a bit of a solo sesh. Hit:
-Ducking Symposium Mirage (one side)First time ever ~**~~**~ :D :D
-pdx.mirage>symposium mirage>rpt (4 contacts) I hit it bsos a bunch but it was with bails so I dont count it.
-ducking mirage>symposium mirage>ducking butterfly>infinity>drop

Not done shredding yet, but I didn't want to forget anything so I posted it while it was still fresh in my mind.

edit: Drifter **~~**~~** :D

Shredded for about 30 minutes at Peter's after school. Didn't hit much, just PS Mirage for the first time. Also had a tiltless string of about 15-18 contacts.

When I got home I shredded yet again and got 20 contacts of Legover>Mirage>Legover>Mirage>Pickup>Mirage>Pickup>Mirage>rpt.
Also had 10 contacts of Butterfly>pdx.Mirage>rpt.(My new record) I know it's not very high but I always get really pissed when i drill them so I move on to something else.

Ducking Butterfly Bsos and ducking mirage bsos (not in the same string)

Solo Session's are really tiring. I can only shred for about an hour before I can't take anymore, but when I'm with others I can shred for hours upon hours, lol.

Haha, nice picture! I hadn't seen this blog until now. Thanks for the honorable mention. :o

Are you going to the Green Cup next weekend? I don't think I'll be able to make it Sat or Monday, but I should be there Sunday.

-20 contacts infinity>clipper>rpt.
Alex:

-butter>pdx.Mirage>rpt. w/out getting pissed lol

Steve and I went to the Green Cup today, whoopdee-frieken-doo. Didn't shred much, except for like 20 minutes. I beat Steve twice in two-square :D but I guarantee he let me win :(

Net was really fun to watch, but there were no freestyler's at all. Fuck the Oakland scene. Tomorrow we're going to Golden Gate park for the finals and hopefully more freestyle.

Hey guys,

Sorry for bailing on Tuesday. School just crept up on me so I had no choice but to ditch. Wish I could post some highlights but I havn't footbagged all week. My shin splints, if that's is in fact what they are, are more painful now than ever before. I'll be there on saturday for sure.

- Mudd

P.S. we doing something tomorrow? If so sms me the details later. I only have from like... after school to 6:30 or 8.
