Had some of the best kicking of my life today, the best save of the day was running up a set of stairs to get to a wayward kick. Also got 50+ hacks with a friend, we were consistently getting lots of rythm in all of the hacks which was a great feeling. Also a mirage kick hack and a front body sole kick hack(like net spike style)
also had a really good run with lots of double dex, best of all my calf is not in agonising pain for once
75 tiltless, dod and double pickup were rock solid, also dod rake felt good today. oh and I did some symp whirls
such a great day, was a reminder of why I love footbag

Had a really good BBQ with the uni hack club yesterday, more than 30 people attended and we had heaps of fun. Was good to have some new people sign up for the club and the event was a great success.
Had a hack with some friends today, finally got: push spike kick(Janis)>push kick spike (leon) > rest of hack . So happy with that, we had been trying that for a few a while. Also flapper kick bsos hack, and Leon got flapper kick> op flapper kick> pass. For some reason we are getting a bunch of mirage kick hacks
Had a solo session just before: did lots of drills
ss clipper>far legover>rpt -25 contacts
ss clipper>dlo>rpt -7contacts
lots of tiltless runs of about 20-40 contacts, couldn't break through 50, but I wasn't puffed out, only poor concentration.
other random stuff: tapping dlo, paradon>dlo>plo>paradon, butterfly> flip flurry and flurry bsos in a tiltless run.

drilled at home for the first time in ages. The session started really badly, but got better later on. Randomly hit pixie whilring rake, it hurt. Mostly practiced flurries. Did some bsos in tiltless runs, then tried to link some more stuff in. Managed pixie butter>flurry>plo>drop, fixed the set on my left flurry and then after heaps of tries: flurry>plo>butterfly>flurry, it was a really good feeling.

circle kicked for a bit today, also hit a flurry, lol random
your hittin flurry but not osis? uh-oh, somebody missed out on the basics
just kidding kinda but seriously, hit up osii' they are hawt.
P.S.- got any tips for double dexing, like...DATW? im just SOOO close...and it pisses me off.
Ben Rea
I only mentioned that particular flurry cause it was in a hack circle with jeans.
generic advice for datw: practice consecutive ATW with toes pointed up and with a low set. If you have trouble keeping your toes up mabye do toe raises, they really helped my datws. Then for datw, make sure your toes are pointed up, also you will probably want to raise up onto your toes a bit with the supporting leg. The cruical thing is doing small controlled dexes, not fast large dexes, if you focus on doing small dexes you can set lower and use less energy. Set straight up and keep the bag as close to your body as you can, don't let it get get away from you.
so key points for datw:
toes pointed up
small controlled dexes
hmm datw, what is giving you trouble?BenRea wrote:P.S.- got any tips for double dexing, like...DATW? im just SOOO close...and it pisses me off.

hmmm, interesting, I find flurry much easier to play out of than osis. Instead of getting frustrated by osis espeially in my post ankle injury era, I decided to spend my time drilling toe game and cloud/pinchers, a decision that I don't regret at all.your hittin flurry but not osis? uh-oh, somebody missed out on the basics
had a awesome session today.
some new stuff: frantic legover, sailing op legover
massive toe flurry improvement, I think I was hitting 2/3 of them at the end. Had a run with 2 toe flurries, that was fun. All up mabye 20-30 toe flurries today
Footed symp paradon 5 times in a row >.< think I'm going to drill symp butterfly more. Also need to learn how to do the spinning moves, spinning is fun.
edit: hit pinchwalk bsos, probably done it before, but it was still cool.

Hey, so when's the next Janis video already????
I was YouTubing and watching some old Destroyer videos and saw a run with rev whirlwinds like you wanted to see, so here's a link:

TNT Session, 1:50 minutes = rev whirl run with 2 rev whirlwinds, I think.
Jorden's rev whirls look a lot more like regular whirls than mine. I don't know what it is with mine...maybe they're a lot faster? Like, I wait and slam down (which sucks on the shins, but slamming makes it easier to spin out of..)

Had a go at sailing flurry today, I'm glad the rest of the circle got the joke
There will be some inventions
thanks so much for that link Erik
could you post a link to some of your rev whirl stuff? I'd love to see it
as soon as exams are over. I don't own a camera, but I sort something out. In other words in about 3 weeksErik Chan wrote:Hey, so when's the next Janis video already????

went to a festival today. No hack circle were to be found
had a good solo shred session though. Mostly went for length, really wanted to beat the 4 min eggtimer, but it kept falling over mid run >.< (the eggtimer that is)
managed like 20+ contacts of datw>op toe> rpt then the lights changed so I crossed the road. In retrospect I kinda wished that I kept the run going, meh, one of the people waiting for the lights clapped, that was cool.
Also did a good run where I did two lengths of the carpark I was playing in, mabye 30meters or so. Also tried to do some pixie stuff again, hit plo>smear>rpt>plo>smudge>rpt.
Also eggbeater>plo>eggbeater>plo>plo>plo>DLO>plo>DLO and fairy ripstein first and only try.
I really enjoyed just playing for myself for once, it was great to be able to toe bail and just muck around without anyone else's expectations being involved. It was so much fun just be kicking again, I've been rediculously busy recently with study and it was really hard to find any time for a serious shred.
edit: just noticed I went through a whole session without any fliers or flapper kicks

Played again today, this time with the MFC guys. Felt quiet sore throughout but still managed to get a few good runs. Decided to take it easy for most of the session but naturally I got carried away frequently. It was really good to do some pincher stuff again, it's been too long since I did any.
highlights:
datw in>plo>rpt >datw out>plo>rpt
some more pixie shuffle
phasing gyro mirage
pincher set op symp rev whirl bsos
blizzard, barefoot, lol
