I honestly can't see that post as intelligent. What does ethnicity have to do with age? Just cos he uses long words doesn't make the post intelligent.shredzilla wrote:That's the most intelligent response I've heard today.sanuke okumatzu wrote:Everyone in the world is an asshole. It's just to what extent that you are, and to what extent that people demonize others. Ethnicity has nothing to do with how kind or how rude you are, stereotypical classification like that only helps to fuel the fire for ignorant generalizations.shredzilla wrote:See? You JUST demonstrated what I was talking about! Sarcastic smart-ass response. It's as if you people can't even see yourselves doing it! Maybe it's just your age or something...

I get pulled up for the slightest use of the word 'gay', even when not used in a derogatory fashion (I remember using it to describe pixie and fairy sets - which are, well, of a gay sounding nature), yet check this post out.BainbridgeShred wrote:Every once in awhile on modified people just go through spurts of being complete queers. oliver,
I think it's more an issue of mods not seeing every single post. if you see something like that, PM moxie and I'm sure she'll change it. It's not a double standard, it's just an imperfect filter.
I see stuff like that all the time. I just don't care any more.

Why complain about it? Complaining about it isn't going to do anything for you. Just PM a mod and hope they don't hate you enough to not change or do something about it.Blue_turnip wrote:I get pulled up for the slightest use of the word 'gay', even when not used in a derogatory fashion (I remember using it to describe pixie and fairy sets - which are, well, of a gay sounding nature), yet check this post out.BainbridgeShred wrote:Every once in awhile on modified people just go through spurts of being complete queers. I got my post modified by a mod a couple days ago in a thread full of derogatory language, but I just replied the mod with, "Sorry, I"ll watch my language closer." No problems... Why are you so difficult? Why do you have to argue so much? It's ok to be wrong every once in a while. When are you going to understand that it's ok to be wrong sometimes?
(Post meant to sound ridiculously contradictory.)

It's people like Chris Miller who need an ignore button. As Chris as demonstrated and even stated himself here, he finds it difficult to just let things slide and not react to posts. If Chris had the option to ignore the people who usually provoke him into this rampage of posts, I believe that he would feel like the forum would be more enjoyable and people would no longer see him as a pest.
In return, without the responses from Chris and others, the trolls who are now ignored no longer get the attention they seek and go elsewhere.
Could we please have the ignore function already?
I don't dislike Chris. I've met him only once when I was just starting out in footbag. I've also met Ben. Neither individuals have bad intentions. They are different in person than online. Ben's posts irked me before I met him. I guess I didn't know where he was coming from. Chris' posts irk me because when he does get worked up, there's a cascade of them and they all fuel the needs for attention from the trolls that I really do dislike.
To Chris:
Sometimes I wonder why you get so worked up Chris. Don't you see how your reactions pinpoint you as a target for the personal attacks? The trolls think it's funny, but I understand that it is hurtful. So why don't you make yourself less of a target by reacting to them less? I hope you use the ignore function when it does become instated. Matt's post about how some posters' comments can be attributed to age is a good one. If you're older and wiser, then you should just chill out and realize that it's beneath you. Maybe give some guideance in a nicer way to the younguns than generalities that would otherwise offend. I see that your intentions are good, but your approach is all wrong. [/i]

Arg I am sick of this lol. I know I don't have much say cause I don't really use the forums much but I like to say we ALL blew this over way to far. that is all no comments on this hehe<3333
Also, I know I am a no one and hardly anyone knows who I am but I know Chris in Real life and he is a pretty good guy. He is the one who got me to guiltless, well also Richard Abshire and Jason Crook but that is besides the point. He can be aggressive but can this all be put behind, Please?

It was being worked on. There were complications with the mods Mike had already set up.Pengu wrote:Could we please have the ignore function already?
Please post here if there is anything else needs to be discussed about the ignore function.
