which insoles for gunits?

Post by Wumbo »

was wondering which one you use, the crosstrainer pushes me up so high its not funny. its a feeling like in high heels, and the foot gets so snug. do you leave the standard insole, but cut along the annoying inside extra part? what do you use? they already have good support, so the crosstrainer isnt so neccessary imo.

I use spenco insoles with my units and they help me a lot. I've been using mine for about 3 years.

I don't use insoles anymore, but when I did I always got the Spenco Court/Aerobic insoles. They are made for high impact stress. Which is basically the definition of footbag.

You can buy them here: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageMS-SPCA.html

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

What was the reason for deciding not to use insoles?

I stopped wearing insoles because it felt like my clipper was flatter and lower to the ground without them. I have terrible shin splints every time I play, although I've always had these shin splints off and on ever since I first started playing. Even with insoles.

Related, doubtful.

i stopped using insoles like a year and a half ago because the closer to the ground i feel, the better i play. lavers with insoles make me feel like im wearing high heels, so i feel very wobbly. and for the same feeling that james described. i've never had shin splints in the 2.5 years i've been playing.

I use the G-unit stock insoles. They're really thin (much thinner than Spencos). I feel much closer to the ground with them than any other insole. I'd like to try playing without them, but I'm afraid of getting abrasions on my socks and feet from the rough white interior.

I trim along the inside of the insole just enough so that it doesn't interfere with my clipper and that it gives me some comfort and support (I have low arches).

that sound pretty good to me. ill try it. though i could play well in gunits with crosstrainer this weekend. being close to the ground is definetely an advantage, like with cars.

I began using some 2 weeks ago and so far they haven't interfered with my game. I found a pretty thin gel pair at Wal-Mart and the pair is just VERY little thicker than the one in the lavers, but MUCH more confortable and impact absorbant.

I just didn't buy them for my 3rd pair of lavers and my feet/legs never hurt. So, I stopped wasting my money.

ive been using the original insoles for a month or so, and my knees answered with pain. right now i think about getting something else.. i do want some arch support, but a thin heel. what do you know about these: spenco court/arobic, hiker, ironman and the new total support? a heel like the low profile´s with an arch support of the crosstrainer is what im looking for. can u help me?

I'm using an insole called "SOF SOLE" I got at foot locker. I'm not sure if they are as good as spenco, but I appreciate the support they offer. BTW, I still have shin splints.

I have a set of those in my black lavers. They're decent, not quite as good as spencos, but they do the job.
