I hadn't heard much about this so maybe a few of you missed it too.

It’s the time of the year again and now it’s official. Effective May 14, 2007, the US postage rate will increase once more. That last postage increase was in January 2006 and the one before that was back in 2002.
One interesting thing about 2007 postage increase is the introduction of a “foreverâ€

It hasn't gone down. 75 cents for a 3 oz LETTER. If your sending something that's more than 1/4 inch thick (say Mr. Sandbag) you have to use the 1st class FLAT. Not first class LETTER. It used to be 87 cents to send one Mr. Sandbag. Now it's $1.14. Priority used to be $4.05 now it's $4.60. Plus they got rid of the global priority envelope. Now it's ridiculous to send international packages.

So how much does international postage cost now Jim? Or is it ridiculous because there's no priority envelope, so shipping takes longer?

i think its enough to just suck it up. its not really that bad to ship a bag, especially if you make money off it. give aways are different...
youre getting more than you should for whatever bag you make, so just be happy you made the sale. if you are really worried about it, raise your prices slowly, and end when your profit is what it used to be. that way nobody cares, and they think you improved your product.
im more happy to cut deals and make shipping on me, or give a discount for a larger number of bags, just to sell a bag or two extra to the same person. its not too big of a deal to me to pay 2-3 dollars to ship to anyone. i dont even charge extra to ship overseas.
its just about getting your stuff safely to wherever. im willing to pay what it takes to make people happy. im glad i dont have to ups it or fed ex it, so i dont really mind.

Thanks Nate. When you're sending 10-20 packages per day it adds up.uhhhhhhh...u and freedom footbags are on a slightly different playing field. Rolling Eyes
About the global priority: they got rid of the small global priority which used to be $4.25 to Canada and $5.25 to any other country. We used it a lot. You can pack a lot of stuff in one of those small priority envelopes. They kept the large global priority but it's $7.50 to Canada and $9.50 to other countries. And the normal International First Class Air Mail went way up. There's no sense complaining about it. It's like gas, they can charge whatever they want and we still have to buy it.
