Aww, yeah, sorry about today. I saw my phone ringing, but I didn't sleep until late in the morning because I was up all night excitedly researching camcorders. I really wanted to play too, actually! I may play either soon or as soon as it gets light out (it's 4 AM now).
World records list
I won't be able to play Sunday either. All of my brothers are getting together at my one brother's place and playing games and stuff. Umm, soon though! Next solo session I am going to break a whole bunch of ducking world records. I looked at the list tonight and was really excited that they're all, like, single-digit numbers!! What?? Reverse whirl stuff has been neglected on Lon's list too... Sweet. I think some stuff I have hit recently are world records... like my 8 stepping rev whirls, and 2 gyro rev whirls (I will do more, 'cause they aren't really too hard) -- there's a number up for that one, but no name)...and stuff. Far revs may be tough, though, 'cause Jorden hit like 33, and Penske hit 53-ish regular rev whirls. I could MAYBE do both...but it would take some practice. I think my records are about 15 and 30-something respectively.
Organizing Hackrifice sessions on website blog!
Oh yeah, I was going to say that we should, like, organize shred times on the Hackrifice blog thing... that way the website is getting used, and we all know who's playing and when, and then people other than the main 5 or 6 of us (two of whom I still haven't seen since I got home) can get in on it. The Toronto blog was soooo useful for organizing shred times!

Oh yeah, and my brother is huge into photography (he was the president of the UofM photography club for a couple of years) and he has just started assembling some nice backdrops and is going to be buying some lighting equipment -- so I'm thinking move demos when that's set up! He's buying white material on Monday. When Derek and I filmed it was on a bed sheet that my brother had cut eyes out of for a ghost halloween costume when he was, like, 6 (you can see the eyes (and nose?) in all of the videos...) Plus, my brothers backdrops are HUGE, so they will cover and entire wall

Epic bike ride
Oh yeah, so Andrew and I were both going to bike to The Forks (our summer shred spot) so Andrew was, like, "Well I'll just bike to your house and we can bike together." So we did, and I suggested the route that I always take. When we got there I told him that it wasn't paved until a little into it, and wanted make sure that his road tires would be able to handle it. It looked okay to him, so we started out...and it turns out that the entire path was just super thick mud. It makes sense, in retrospect, since it had been raining for, like, a week straight...
So even I was having a hard time, though my tires are hybrid...but I at least have gears and whatever -- Andrew just has his "fixed gear", or something. So our tires got completely caked in mud and we had to retrace our path and clean our tires and shoes before continuing on another route.
Halfway there we were going to go back to the path, since it was paved at this point, but apparently the river is really high and it was completely under water...so another mini-backtrack and we decided on no more riverbank paths.
Well, I only really told that 'cause Andrew asked. It wasn't terribly eventful, but the bike ride was fun -- definitely more fun than riding alone.
Oh yeah, Manna reminds me of this other player was back when I started. He name was Rheal Laramee (or something). He was really young (I guess I was 15 or 16 at the time) and he was like 13 or so. He was...a lot like Manna, but even higher skill level. I think I remember him doing pixie sets and moves like smear and parkwalk... He could have been amazing. Maybe Derek remembers him? I think he stopped playing around the time that Derek started getting REALLY good. I remember an epic session where Derek hit stuff like pixie ducking whirl and ripped warrior after a couple months of playing, and I think Rheal was maybe at that session...
Anyway, that was a lot of writing, so I should stop. I've been putting off drawing for, like, 10 hours now.
Camcorder research
I was seriously looking at the Sony HDR-HC1, which looks like its around $2500 USA (although Dat Phan told me he thought it was $1800, and he has used the camera). After reading some reviews I was lead to some Panasonic cameras that look just as good (as far as I'm concerned) for a LOT cheaper (like $1000 cheaper...).
I'm really excited about the Panasonic PV-GS400 at the moment. It even got a better rating than the Sony. (EDIT: looks like it's discontinued, and the new model is terrible

Oh yeah, and I was trying to find out the size of my current camera's lense to compare to whatever I want to get, and found really funny comments on a review of the camera. They're really funny, because its a bunch of people super mad about the camera being garbage and having to spend hundreds of dollars on repairs, and saying that this happened to everybody and that they are never going to buy from Canon again... and that's my exact story

Some other Panasonics are looking REALLY good -- especially for manual controls, which is a big thing for me, I think. Now I'm most considering the Panasonic PV-DV953... I am so excited about reading about these camcorders that I keep forgetting to eat and sleep!! I was REALLY close to buying the PV-GS500 a few minutes ago -- I hate having a credit card sometimes (oh yeah, I preordered Eli's compilation video a bit ago too...)

I just meant that that seems like a really high standard when I still view those players hitting 10 fearless as the best of the best. Like I said, I guess standards have changed.
