Has anyone listened to the new Dredg live album? I'd be interested to hear what other people think since I have mixed feelings about it. I've heard Dredg has amazing energy live but I don't think I'm feeling it in this recording. I could just be over-analyzing it. At least they included one unreleased song: "Stone by Stone". Which I also have mixed feelings about.
Personally, I think Dredg hasn't put out an album equal to "El Cielo" yet. Lyrically, their songs have become quite trite compared to pretty much every track on that album and they traded complex multi-rhythms and a worldly sound for the typical rock that can be provided by thousands of other bands. Don't get me wrong I love rock and I love the latter 2 albums. But "El Cielo" was like nothing I've ever heard before. I dunno. Just my 2 cents.
