Super Smash anything just never interested me. I beat the shit out of Super Paper Mario in like 3 weeks, it was a good game

It's just the fact there are SOOO many REALLY good games for the X360, I feel like I'm missing out on some good gaming while I desperately wait for ONE really good game for the Wii. Like I said, I'll just wait a year or so before I get another Wii. It's just not worth the wait right now when I could be playing Halo 3 soon and while I wait I can play games like Gears of War (online with other people I might add  ) Dead Rising, All the new sports games, etc. I just jumped in too early for my poor ass :D

Yeah... I'm about to pick your post apart. Keep in mind, that I completely respect that fact that you'd rather have 360 at the moment.

Like?

Soon? Try November. Halo 3 Beta is out yes, but it's not good enough to occupy your gaming time very well. And yes, GoW is a very intensely orgasmic game to play. But after getting tagged for the hundredth time, I said fuck it. That game is so not balanced in any way or form on multiplayer. That's just my opinion though.
habitat wrote:Dead Rising
Assuming I know which game you're talking about... Are you kidding me? Isn't that the one kids game that has some dude beating zombies with a bench or somethin' like that... And it's practically cell shaded? Please tell me I'm thinking of another game.
habitat wrote:All the new sports games
No offense, but sports games... are sports games. There's no "new" sports games. Want to know the difference between Madden 2006 and Madden 2007? $50.

But anyway. If that's what you find to be entertaining in your games, that's cool I guess. I must criticize though, as I did above. Sorry, sports games strike a nerve with me. I hate their repetitive bullshit. It's a sham I tell you.

But yes, the 360 IS coming out with some better games now. There is GoW (At least until you get sick of getting tagged... ), Halo 3 Beta (If you buy Crackdown), Crackdown, which is quite the bitchin' game. Very cool. Oh, and Halo Wars is comin out sometime this year I think too for 360. Definitely getting that.

But good luck selling your Wii, and I hope you're happy with your 360. Just, MAKE SURE, you get the new one. The black one with the 120GB hard drive. You're a fool if you get the original.

habi u posted that tiger was a horrible game, then admitted it was just because u couldn't figure out how to swing right.
u're credibility is gone for me.
ssx, tiger, spm, godfather, sonic and barnyard r all great games to me, name 6 games that were great in xbox's first 6 months of release... but i'm no "true gamer" as they call them in the game forums... (or as I like to call them "geeks who don't do well in school")

u'll be back on the fizz in 5 months saying how lame xbox is and how u're stoked on the greatest new game for the ps3.

I have an x360, and am debating getting a Wii. So far I've held off for several reasons, the number one being that several friends of mine that are game devs (at companies such as Capcom) and who have all next gen console and are big gamers have suggested I wait a bit.

The general consensus is that yes the Wii is GREAT but that it's now gathering dust on their cabinets... still I'm very intrigued.

I'm not a "hardcore gamer" either and am not a big fan of FPS games either although GoW was OK. I'm certainly not holding my breath for Halo 3 which is so hyped it's ridiculous. Actually the best games I've played on the 360 are Amped 3, Tiger 07, THP8 and ... dead rising (which is why I decided to chime in this topic).. yes dead rising is that game where you kill countless zombies with benches.... and guns.. and knives .. and lawnmowers .. and cars .. and chainsaws.. and dumbbells.. and ping-pong balls .. etc.

I must say it's incredibly fun and doesn't deserve the harsh description Switch gave it.

PS: I've never even tried a Wii yet..

I'm sorry Nate, but the fact (to me) is the most of the games so far get boring really fast. I'm happy like you're content with horrible games, really, rock it until the wheels fall off! In my opinion, the replay value just isn't there for me.

As for Tiger Woods, the graphics are dreamcast-ish and the swing is far from realistic, which was what I was originally hoping for. I just think it needs a lot of work so it has a easier learning curve. I'm sure the game is great (like the xbox version) when you get it down but nothing about it made me want to perfect my swing. Is that not a good enough reason to dislike the game?

Max, IMO I wouldn't buy a Wii unless you see a game you absolutely must have. If/When you do buy a wii, it will be an awesome new experience. Just hold off until better games come out. That's all I was really trying to say from the beginning. I feel ripped off by my own eagerness to try something new. And I regret spending so much money on it when all it does is sit there, collecting dust. But hey, if you got the money, splurge right? :D

It's funny how people get defensive over their Wii's. I used to do the same thing when my roommates talked shit on the Wii until I realized they were mostly right. For right now, X360 just has way more features, better games, better graphics, online capabilities and it just plain looks better. It felt really cheesy going from playing my friends X360 back to my Wii. The awesomeness of the Wii just wore off. Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

My opinion:

X-Box 360 and Playstation 3 are the same consoles as before just new graphics (and much more expensive seeing that you have to buy a Full HD TV to enjoy the full potential of either of them). The games are not very innovative, in fact it's just the same games with better graphics. Maybe they add new weapons and a new level but that's it mostly I'm afraid.
To play online with X-Box or Playstation you have to pay a fee (on top of paying for the internet anyway). Summary: Too expensive for playing the same games as usual with better graphics

Of course you might say I am just defending the Wii but I have to say that I used to be a big fan of Playstation. I have tons of games for playstation 2 and I was disappointed how fast I always finished them. And I always waited for the innovative funny games to play with friends...but it was a futile waiting :x ...X-Box and Playstation are about the same thing and when I saw how much you would have to pay to play the new games with better graphics I thought WTF ???

Soo I bought a Wii and even if there haven't been many games released that are very very special (though Wii Sports, Wii Play and Mario Party are the best party games I've ever seen in my whole life) I am very happy with it. The Remote is such a good idea and if they do games that really make good use of it, yeeeeeeehaw. You can even work out and play games at the same time (I had muscle ache in my arms after an afternoon with Wii Sports and a mate of mine :D ) It's just so much fun and the games are (even if they are too just sequels) much more innovative compared to Halo 3, Tekken 1000, Virtua Fighter X, Rigde Racer X, GTA X (new cities, new guns, slightly different missions), DoA X, etc. etc.
The only games I will miss on Wii are Virtua Tennis and Gran Turismo but they will also be released for Computer...

So if you want a console to play with your friends and something innovative and cheap you should buy a Wii because Playstation and X-Box are expensive, not very innovative and the games are just warmed up sequels.

Indeed. The PS3 is simply a PS2... with 7 processors. That MUST not work, because the loading times are absolute garbage on that thing.

And when Sony tried to steal the spotlight by mimicking the Wii's motion sensor with their "6-Axis" controller, all I could do, is laugh. The controller (When the tilt sensors are on.) is meant to determine people's subconcious movements of their arms and hands and put it into the game. Such as flying a plane. If you tilt to the right, but twitch your controller stick to the left slightly for a second, it's supposed to acknowledge the tilt of the controller, over the accidental twitch of the thumb stick. They tried demonstrating this at E3. It didn't work. And it still doesn't work. If anything, it plays worse with that feature turned on. I always turn it off, because when I do, I actually DON'T crash and blow to little bit and pieces when I play MotorStorm.

Not to mention, this is a $500 PS2 with slightly better graphics. ANd you can't count the BlueRay, because half of them don't even work. Over half of the PS3's I sold at Wal-Mart were all returned because they kept breaking down. And most of them, was because the BlueRay stopped working. REAL BlueRay players cost $1000. You're not gonna find one that works correctly for any cheaper than that. So if you're getting a PS3, for $500, and expecting to get a good BlueRay player in the package, you're just stupid.

The XBox 360 really wasn't that special. I like the new controller and all. But really, it's just got better graphics and such. No attempt at changing the gameplay, which isn't a bad thing. Microsoft was pretty honest about how their next gen system was going to play out. THey knew they didn't have anything crazy coming out, so they didn't boast about it. Which is good. I will only buy the XBox 360, for Halo 3. That's how much I love Halo. Of course I will get other games, such as CrackDown, GoW, Halo Wars, and such. But it's for Halo 3.

Btw, Halo 3 is not over hyped. It's beta version is out, and I've played it. Something can't be over hyped if it's already available to try out. Something being over hyped would be something that hasn't come out yet, and has high expectations from fans. Halo 3 kicks absolute ass, and there's nothing over hyped about it. It's everything they've said it would be, and more surprisingly.

Right now, Nintendo has regained it's rightful place at the throne of the gaming world. Nintendo has the gaming industry by the balls right now, and I have a feeling they're going to be there for quite some time. The failure of the PS3 and PSP, is so bad, that I really would not be surprised at all, if Sony only puts out one more system before withdrawing from the gaming industry. They got their asses kicked this time. And Microsoft's just kinda sitting there in the middle, safe and sound, not trying to take over anything, just wanting a piece of the pie. Bill Gates announced that Microsoft will not be attempting a hand held gaming system for a very long time, because Nintendo's grip on the market is too strong to shake. As seen with the complete and utter failure of the PSP. I think, for once in his life, Bill Gates knows his place. Sony's gonna keep fighting until Nintendo has no choice but to completely obliterate them. Oh what a glorious day that will be when Sony is completely taken out of the gaming section in stores. I'm not a PS fan, as you can see, despite the fact that I have a 100+ PS and PS2 games...

Yeah I got a ds and psp, Right now I think ds is kicking psps butt cause well... Ds has a touch screen and Nintendo works hard on there hand helds. Psp is real awesome but right now it is collection dust and ahve some games that are worth playing for hours straight but most you can play on the major consoles with better game play and better graphics. I am still looking forward to some stuff. I really like the internet search and mp3 stuff. Movies are ridiculous though... They should be downloadable and stuff like ipod. Bu Nintendo knows how to run a hand held.

But for Wiis I want that cause it just sounds like a good work out. I mean other than footbag. But I mean yeah, you can get like Halo 3 soon and Gears of war but after a while they can't compete with super fast arm movements.

But this is my thoughts. I have all the systems if I had the money. Cause Guitar Hero, Halo 3, Mario Party 8, Super Smash 3, Ds games psp games... Arg I love them all.

I am ready for wii to be out there so I can get it though. They said it would be on floors in April... My ass... It is JUNE. I am ready for my wii... To bad I am busy footbagging to get up early to stand out in front of best buy to get one.

Thanks for reading my short, messy rant

Do you know how hard it is to resale a Wii with Wii Sports/Wii Play, 2 wiimotes, 2 nunchuck, a classic, optional wifi usb adaptor, and 20 downloaded virtual console games All items in *like new condition with an open style make me ANY offer/OBO type deal? I've been trying for a month straight. Hmmm. You would think people would jump all over an awesome setup like that.

Maybe people in Spokane are just smarter?

Maybe everyone who wants a Wii has one or wants to buy a new one if ever ? Or want to choose themselves what virtual console games they want ? ;)

No honestly...I can't understand how you can be selling the Wii although the good games haven't been released yet. Wii is btw more for playing with friends, of course there will be great one player games but it's a hell lot of fun to play it with others. Selling a console is a losing deal...why not keep it ?

And then buy another console ? That's a hell lot of money spent for nothing if you ask me...but it's your choice after all ;)

Exactly. And all this talk about wii being a work out... I have played it lots (i have one, and some friends have one) and i have never broken a sweat or even felt like i got anything NEAR a workout. It isn't much physical activity. Its mostly just slowly aiming the remote at the screen. Are you saying holding your arm out for 15 minutes is a workout?

Actually, I almost always break a sweat playing Wii Sports, more specifically tennis and boxing. But that's it. Don't buy a wii to get a good workout, it's like going to McDonalds to get a salad.

It depends on how you play the games. Of course I don't have anything like a workout while playing Zelda or CoD because I am sitting in a comfortable chair in front of my tv to play these games BUT

Play Wii Sports (long enough not just for 15 mins) and do exaggerate a bit with the movements. Especially in tennis this is much more fun anyway and it will get exhausting. Of course you can't compare it to a good and hard shred session but for a game it's quite a lot of physical work. As I've already said after an afternoon with a mate of mine and Wii Tennis (and of course shredding) we had sore muscles (legs and arms). Sore muscles are for me a sign of physical activity and I don't think that we got them in our arms because we picked up the bag so many times ;)

Yeah.. I don't like Wii Sports anymore because of that. I tend to play games to avoid doing phycial work, you know. But then you play tennis and, well, it's stressful sometimes. I'll stick to my CoD, Zelda, Raving Rabbits, etc. Much more fun anyway. lol.
