Doug, on the end of the last page, wrote:played w/ Ian for bout 1.5 hrs. Didnt do much, mad tired from yesterday/lil sleep, but still fun to play. It seems like Ians progressing fairly well, I really wanna see him hit clippers more effortlessly, he has so much potential once his solidifes his foundation. He's definitly going about playing the right way tho, just workin basics and not add hunting like im sorta doing right now . Meh, im not goin crazy or anything, I just keep tryin to incorprate bigger stuff midplay like ripwalk, and torque.

...Actually, come to think of it, Im not that much of an add hunter. Lately ive just been workin bops and whirls and then trying to put dimwalk and parkwalk bs into my strings... haha, idk, im contradictive. I guess I just wish I had longer stronger more genuine strings is all... Yeah, thats what I should work on next time rather than drills.

Oh! Now i remember why i wanted to post in here. I managed to hit that drill form yesterday to end my session today.

-osis>far (symple?) osis (rpt)
-also osis>spinning clipper bs

I managed a bunch of other stuff, but nothing new really, just new variations of junk I can already do.

Peace

sick dude that osis drill is SO key. and spinning out of osis is probably my current favorite concept. you should try osis>spinning osis BS, then maybe B2b

Hmmm, i like the cut of your jib, osis>spinning osis sounds sick indeed.

Actually, i did manage to hit spinning osis bsos like 10 minutes ago first try :D. I didnt try again tho cuz I knew it was a total fluke and I prolly wont hit it again for another 2 months. Aw well just another concept to work on. :)

So I lied yesterday, i didnt go for any long strings at all. Cept for one that i accidentally stuck in there after I hit ss butter>whirl>osis (rpt) I just couldnt resist a run after hitting a rpt like that. Yeah, I didnt do anyhing new, as usual, just worked same ol same ol, basically just tryin to cool down before takin a shower and then hangin w/ some ppl.

-osis>far oss (rpt)
-butter>osis>infinity>pdx mir (rpt)
-swirl>osis
-osis>swirl
-osis>torque
-swirl>torque
-butter>torque>infinity>run
-ripwalk bsos
-stepping ss clipper bsos

Ugh, I must be so boring to watch! Aw well, im having fun. 8)

hey buddy, you're not boring to watch at all! you have really good sharp style, and you develop more and more each time I see you. I hope you can make it to thursday in the square in buffalo. Mike and Jeff had a great time last week with me. Maybe you and Jeff can carpool sometime? He doesn't have a car, I believe.

Hope we can play again soon, don't forget your MC bag if you do, I love playing with my bags!

Thank you Matt, that really means a lot coming from such an experienced player like yourself.
I would be more than happy to carpool with Jeff... if I knew who he was or where he lived... I'm sure I'll meet him at one of the Buffalo sessions tho. It's cool that theres another bagger in Rochester.

Im freakin loving footbag so much right now. Idk if its bc i can finally do stuff or if its jsut bc its a way to get my mind off other stuff but either way, its so friggin awesome. Anywho, just played for what was supposed to be half an hr but went for 1.5 hrs. Oops. Aw well. Anywho hit some cool lil links:

-ripwalk>dyno>run>flip ripwalk>drop flip dyno
-osis>far osis (rpt) again :)
-spinning clipper bs (almost bsos, footed flip)
-dyno bsos
-osis>torque>run
-osis>swirl>osis>osis>swirl (last swirl was mad thin)
-phoenix>ripwalk
-phoneix>torque :D (this was freakin amazing to me)

Then bunch of other stuff as usual. Haha, my posts are so tedious, I'll try and write something more interesting next time.

Thanx Pete! (Also thanx for that welcoming comment in the Boston Blog)

Only got to play for bout an hr, got my last wind ensemble concert EVER in 20 minutes so i had to stop. During that time i did manage:

-blur bs
-smudge bsos
-blender couple times strong side
-some ripwalks bs
-osis>ducking clip strong side (flip ducking needs work)
-Ugh, i had something bsos that i ussually dont hit bsos and i cant remember what it was! :x Meh, I'm sure it'll come back to me eventually.

I think im jsut gonna wear a tshirt, shorts and lavers to the concert cuz seniors get to wear whatever they want for their final concert. 8)

Well, time to face the music... literally.

Blah, pretty bad session. Could barely string like 7 contacts. Maybe has sumthin to do w/ the 6 mile run beforehand. Meh, either way, my legs are sooo tired. Only cool things were:

-pixie muted clipper bsos>run
-drifter bsos

I just could not hit magellan>smear>plo on my flipside for the life of me. I really need to work pixie something>ss pixie something rpt. Magellan>magellan sounds good. Well, Im out.

thanx janis, I'll definitly have a go at it next time I solo shred.

Ahh, what a wonderful evening in the town of Buffalo. The people, the places, the music.... Actually, the majority of peeple were rando passerbyers, some of which were total assholes, there was pretty much only one place; Buffalo Square, and the music... I couldnt really hear the music but I know there was some. :)

So I picked up Chris Dean round 530ish and we got there round 7. We first ran into Pat Thom(p?)son, who I had met once before at YEAH 06 briefly. He's a mad chill guy and can hit some pretty wicked stuff. I remember a few mobii, some vortexes, and good length strings.

We kicked with a couple differnt hack circles for a lil bit to warm up and then we ran into Matt Cross. Matt played a lil then finished stitching a bag for Pat. It was a really sweet design, black and white with two nuclear symbols on either side. Then we all kicked for a lil while longer until Mike Anello showed up.

Once Mike got there we kinda quarantined ourselves away from the hacky slackers and did a lil freestyle. Actually, one of the hackers stayed with us and he wasnt half bad. He was really good at sole stall>butterfly or sumthin of that nature.

Anwyho, the shred was mad fun. Mike has improved a LOT since the last time I played with him. I remember one of his strings being ducking mir>ducking lo> (rpt) and I tihnk i saw some ducking pdx mirages bsos as well. Also a ton of pdx eggbeaters and dlos. 8O I was really impressed by all the pdx eggbeaters he was hitting. Chris... was Chris. Ha, he's crazy with a bag. Idk, he did a bunch of whirl stuff, atomic stuff, drifter stuff, stepping stuff... he can play footbag. Then of course Matt was reppin that nasty ankle crank. He was whipping out variations of blenders, swirls, and osis all over the place. His style is so unique and fun to watch. Haha, I remmebr one guy passed by and in a sarcastic tone said "o hey, do an ass stall." Obviously, this guy had never met Matt Cross before, otherwise he wouldve known better than to say such a thing. So the guy's walkin away and Matts jsut like "hey asshole!" and stalls the bag right on top of his ass. It was hilarious.

There were so many funny moments. A lot of the comments like, "o hey, i used to paly soccer pass it to me" *watches Chris Dean take a run* *o shit, dont pass it to me." *walks away* Another was when some guy almost ran into Cross mid-run and looked all pissed off, but then as he watched Matt keep going, his expression slowly changed form anger to astonishment. I'm sure there were many others but I don't remeber them all right now.

All in all, Freakin amazing night. Really makes up for last night when I lost my Aiden bag in my unfinished basement. :x :x :x I was so pissed, I couldnt believe that it actually fell into this tiny hole that seemed nearly impossible to fall into. Ugh, whatever I'm sure I'll get another bag eventually, and besides I still have my Cross bag which is mad sweet. 8)

So yeah, thats all I got to say, kinda a lot for me but whatever. Now I am off to sleep over at my friends house while he is in Vermont with his family... Dont judge me.

Footbag is fun.

So today was a prety lazy day. Got up round noon, finished off two boxes of cereal (each box was partially empty) and then went to a friends eagle ceremony. Today was the first time Ive seen him since he got in a (road) biking accident during a race on Tuesday. Apparntly he was going down a hill and somehow flew off his bike and then got run over by two other bikers. Eek. All that I heard was that he got a few cuts and lsot a tooth so I figured, "Oh, he just got a lil beat up, nothin too bad" but man was I wrong. Turns out he went to the dentist for bout 2 hrs to get his tooth put back in place then was hospitalized.
So when I finally saw him today he was on crutches and had bandages on both his arms and his right leg. He aeven had some bandage-type stuff on his face so he couldnt really talk and was unable to give his speech. I felt so bad for him. He's such an amazing guy, hes like the friendliest guy ive ever known so it just really sucked that he wasnt able to go up there and say his last hurrah... At least he was able to make it to the ceremony tho, hes gotta be oe of the strongest guys I know, mentally and physically.

Anywho, just wanted to put that into a more coherent thought than jsut these random feelings. So yea, onto footbag!

Some cool stuff from the past 2.5 hrs:

-ducking butterfly bs
-worked flip pixie ducking, its pretty bad but its there
-illusion>ss illusion (rpt) 5 contacts
-mirage>ss mirage (rpt) lost count of contacts
-pretty clean assassin (wanted to work this after realizing how sloppy it was when i tried it at Buffalo)
-10 contacts of nothing but BOPs
-whirl>drifter bs
-toe drifter bs
-some 15 contact tiltless strings with some 3s and 4s thrown in while on the phone :)
-smear>pixie ss mirage (rpt), (thanx janis) but only starting on flip so next time i'll try to get it starting on bs.

Yeah, there was other stuff but I tihnk thats enuff to scare off any potential readers due to boredom. :P

Now to shower and go see Knocked Up w/ peeps.

Peace

Hey - excellent work on those! Those drills are so key. I learned that way too late. Oh and 10 BOPing contacts is pretty sick. Keep that up. Oh and shredding while on the phone is probably one of the styliest things to do if anyone is watching. Blows their mind. And if you're alone it's good for a chuckle or two. All in all PROPS! I'll see if I can make it out to Rochester now and then for some weekend shreds. See what you can do to slide over to Syracuse too (though Rochester's more fun to shred in) . . . and convince Chris to come too! Later man. Good luck.

-infinties x17 (record 20)
-butter>near dlo (rpt) x3 bs

Only played for like 20 minutes, it was sooo humid and the weather was so messed up. Sunny this orning, then thunder and lightening, then sunny, then thunder and lightning agian. Right now I think its just drizzlin or sumthin but who knows.

Pat, thanx for the props man, you deifnitly need to make it out to Rochester for some rfa action, it was so much fun playing with you in Buffalo! I'd love to make a trip down to Syracuse a few times before summer ends, just pm me or post here or whatever if you and Ben plan on having a session some time. I'll try and get Chris and whoever else to come along as well *cough* Ian *cough*. Do you think you'll make it to Buffalo this Thursday?

I freakin love Thursdays now. Buffalo is so much fun. The scene is so amazing there, all the hackers and specatators make the whole enviroment so enjoyable.

First off, thanx Pete, and as for my orientation I think is August 6-7, but im not sure, I wanna try and get it changed to aug 30-31 so I dont have to drive up twice, but we'll see. If I have any free time during orientation I would freakin love to have a session, itd be such a good way to spend first college days in Boston.

So anywho, I'll get back to Buffalo in a sec. I was surfin modified earlier and i saw under videos something about "ichat" and i was like "hey, i have ichat, lets check it out" so turns out there was this dude from Switzerland, Flavi... something (sry im bad w/ last names) and he wanted to try this online shred thing. So I talked to him online and eventually we set it up so we could see eachother shred, it was SO cool. He's a mad chill guy too. I love how ppl on modified are so open and unphased by like, the awkward first introduction thing. It's like every1s jsut got the same vibe goin and comes together for the greater good, footbag.

Anywho, him and me played for a lil bit, and he was busting out some pretty ill stuff like blurry drifter and a really sweet link... I tihnk it was legbeater>ripwalk>blurriest or sumthin like that. I dont remmeber he hit a lotta cool stuff. So yea, then his brother came in, and he was jsut as crazy! Dude was barefoot and he hit like ripstein, phoenix, and tried like pixie ducking sym. egg or sumthin like that. Idk, either way it was mad sweet. Then, they started doing some doubles shit and it was insane! Turns out they're like number one doubles in Switzerland, which deserved mad props. All in all it was a lot of fun and I highly advise any1 with ichat to join us sometime, its so cool.

So yea, onto Buffalo. Once again, another epic session. Lets see, Matt Cross, Jeff (Hastings I think? once again, sry, bad w/ last names) and Ian PfeffiermhaaSMITH were there, along with some cool hacker guys. Ian was playing pretty well, his clippers are improving a good deal, and I think I saw him hit clipper>ss butter bs which is mad cool. Also, for the latter part of the session we ended up using a bag he made and it played really nice. He jsut started stitchin a lil while ago but imo his bags are super nice, even Cross thought they played well.

Matt was tearin it up again as usual. His strings are so long and cool to watch, his style is freaking smooth. Blenders and other osis-oriented tricks are like buttah for him. In fact, he rocked so hard he actually got into a pretty lengthy convo with not one, but TWO mad hotties while we were there. Prolly scored soem numbers too, but i didnt ask. Just seeing soemthing like that makes me wanna get so good just so I can fight them biddies off w/ a stick. :P:lol:

Jeff played really well too, his legovers are becoming a lot more consistant AND I saw him hitting mirage bs... like really clean. I also noticed him working on butterflies bs as well which is mad cool. He's progresssing incredibly fast, hes only been playing for a few weeks and he manegd to string legover and mirage bsos in a string. Mad props.

Me, well I managed to get a dollar off a guy. 8) Basically, in Buffalo theres just a bunch of hackers and drunk ppl so once the freestylers form their own circle, the drunk ppl walk along and compare us to the hackers and think of us as hacky sack gods. So anyway, Jeff passes me the bag and I start off slow with some pixies and legovers and I hear some guys like "o shit!" and whatnot so I start doing bops and smears and my usual shit and I ended up w/ a good 20-25 contact string, and one of the guys walks over and he has his hand in a high-five psosition but his hand is in a fist so Im thinking "o, maybe he wants a fist pound or whatevr" then he goes for the highfive and puts a dollar in my hand. I just smiled and then laughed when he walked away. Someone actually gave me money for playing footbag, how sweet is that.

All in all, freaking awesome day today. All done w/ exams, passed everything, goin to college in 2 months, got all summer for footbag and junk, its gonna be sweet. In fact I think we're playin this Saturday so that should be pretty awesome. Thats all I got for now, props if any1 actually reads it, ha.

Byaaaaah!
Just gettin home from Syracuse... actually I got back to Pittsford bout 1230 but instead of going straight home I decided to go to t-bell and then try and see my friend one last time before he leaves for minnesota in like, 3 hrs.... I didnt see him :(
I guess its not too bad cuz i did see him like everday this past week and I talked to my friend (his gf) and she said we should take a road trip there sometime and visit him, so that brightned my spirits a lil. :)

Anywho, Syracuse was friggin awesome. Played w/ Pat Thomsen and Ben Rea and they were both bustin out some pretty wicked stuff. I really enjoyed playing with both of them too, theyre both really chilled dudes and it was mad easy to just talk to them.

Ben's a beast at ducking, he had one run with like 6 or so ducking/diving clippers/butterflies. His stepping is sick too, he makes it look so effortless and was setting it, like, up to his chest. Insane. He hit like blurry rev whirl (i know rev whirl doesnt get blurry but who cares)>stepping ss mirage a bunch so that was cool too.

Pat was busting out some pretty nasty stuff too. He hit barfly really clean, so that was pretty epic. Then he tried to up the ante and hit blurriest, but he didnt cuz he knew id go psycho and totally shank him. ha, yea, idk, he hit a bunch of other stuff too... pdx whirls, hatchet, pdx drifters, and a bunch of other stuff that im too tired to remember.

I played okay. Did my usual pixie crap. Tried porque, but my torque is still too weak. OH, i did hit terrage b2b so that was cool.... yea idk, if i remmebr anything else real important i'll post it tommorow, im mad tired now.

pixie crap. . pff. That was awesome Ben had the same reaction as I had about your pixie abilities.

thanks for coming over yesterday. It was 'hella' fun! I'm going to Canada for today and tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I'll be back in town by Sunday. I'll more than likely make the RIT session on sunday as long as it's still on the menu.

yo dogg,

good writeup from the last session. I ended up meeting that second hottie later that night in buffalo and we went dancing and it was cool.

your game was looking really good. keep skooling, you're totally on your way. We gotta get Ian to do some drills, it will REALLY up his game in a big way. seems like he's been working on individual moves. His bag was definitely awesome, can't wait to see some more from him. get him to stitch more.

see you next thurs.
